Chapter 604: Chapter 503: Two Matters (Thanks to the Alliance Leader Dachang Nana)_2

The Wolf Beast burst forth with a crimson glow, as if tangible agony had transformed into an intangible weight, pressing heavily on everyone’s heart.

Clutching the hammer’s handle, Wood Cottage’s pale face turned a sickly red, then immediately ashen. Violent Source Substance erupted like personified pain, rising from his body and vaguely coalescing into an incomplete halo. However, due to Lin Nineteen’s own foundational strength, it couldn’t fully materialize. Even so, this was enough to upgrade Wood Cottage from a bird gun to a cannon—a significant improvement. As if sensing the infinite power contained within the Iron Hammer, Wood Cottage cheered, ”Feel this—”

Still, before he could finish, he was interrupted.

”Or, this...”

This time, before Jacob could speak again, Teacher Huai Shi’s Spear of Compassion shot out from her hand. It embedded itself into the ground, its impact releasing the refreshing scent of irises, and immediately, clusters of pure white Iris flowers sprouted from the floor.

”Or perhaps, this one?”

The ghastly and eerie Sacrificial Knife appeared in Huai Shi’s hand, and she casually nailed it onto the nearby door frame.

”And there’s this.”

Darkness emerged from the void. Amid the shrill squeal of grinding metal, a pitch-black Lock Chain, bursting with countless sparks, uncoiled from the emptiness.

”Of course, if you find all of this a bit sinister, there’s this option!”

Lastly, Huai Shi pulled the Sword of Virtue from her chest.

A brilliant flame rose from the Sword Blade, and a glorious anthem seemed to sound from within the dazzling light. Holding the blade was like grasping a fissure leading to the sun itself—majestic and dignified, too intense to look at directly.

Five Border Relics were placed before them, each one powerful enough for anyone to use to massacre everyone in the Sea Fishing Club from the inside out.

”Alright, make your choice.”

Huai Shi spread her hands generously, like a Doctor tricking the neighbor’s simple child into choosing a Pokémon. Do you prefer to be split in half? Skewered into pulp? Burnt to ashes? Or strangled to death on the spot? Or, for something more thrilling, how about being obliterated without a trace?

”If that doesn’t work for you, you can select someone to come forward; it doesn’t matter what equipment they wear. Look at my student. He looks completely incapable of fighting—I won’t even give him any Border Relics, just let him hold a small handgun.”

With The Fly King spinning on her fingertip, Huai Shi asked with a smile, ”Don’t say I’m bullying you. Life and death are predestined, and wealth is in the heavens. How about that?”

Jacob’s expression grew increasingly ugly. ”Teacher Huai Shi, using power to oppress others isn’t the way to solve problems. Moreover, winning by relying on external objects is hardly honorable, is it?”

”So what should we do?”

Huai Shi was almost amused to laughter. Pointing at Lin Nineteen, she said, ”Anyway, the Classical Music Classroom only has this one person. What more do you want? Why not just let him go up barehanded? If he gets killed, he’ll have deserved it. How about that?”

Hearing her teacher say this, Wood Cottage’s legs went weak with fear.

All he could think of was actually getting killed here, then his teacher using the incident to make a huge fuss, and finally taking the opportunity to unleash a storm of blood and violence within the Ivory Tower. And he, himself, would be the wretched fool who dies tragically at the beginning of the story... Poor me, I’ve been so devoted, how can you, Teacher, be so devoid of humanity!

”Then let me do it.”

Before Lin Nineteen could start bawling, and before Huai Shi had a chance to capitalize on the situation, a voice came from the side.

It was Yuan Yuan, who had been silent until now.

The teenage girl in the gray skirt stepped forward, head held high, and said, ”Let me represent the Classical Music Classroom.”

In the brief moment of astonishment that followed, she reached out her hand towards Yuan Zhao.

Although Yuan Zhao was extremely reluctant, he ultimately took a completed form out of his pocket and handed it over. It eventually made its way to Huai Shi.

Presenting her application form in front of everyone, the girl earnestly requested, ”Though it’s a bit late now, please do consider my mentor application.”

All necessary stamps and procedures were in place; every step had been completed.

As long as Huai Shi signed her name, Yuan Yuan would spend the next four years in the Ivory Tower as a member of the Classical Music Classroom, Huai Shi’s student.

And perhaps even longer...

Huai Shi studied the handwriting on the form, silent for a long moment. She then lifted her eyes to look at Yuan Yuan. ”Are you sure?”

”Yes,” Yuan Yuan nodded solemnly.

”What about your family? Do they object?” Huai Shi asked again. ”The pressure on you must be immense, right?”

”Second Grandpa has already agreed...” Yuan Zhao’s voice came through, filled with immense grievance; his objections to the family’s arrangements were clearly significant.

The favoritism was just too blatant. Why was he under such strict scrutiny, while anything went for Yuan Yuan?

It wasn’t until yesterday that he learned the family truly meant it when they said they had no arrangements for Yuan Yuan. After learning Yuan Yuan wanted to follow her idol, the family members hadn’t flown into a rage. Instead, they were moved to tears.

Chase your dreams, by all means, chase them! Our daughter is growing up; she needs to be lively. In college, one should study something they’re interested in and develop their hobbies. I think classical music is a good choice. It’s much classier than your fourth uncle constantly blowing that suona!

As for Yuan Zhao... Did I hear you wanted to skip class yesterday? You, come here and face your doom!

Nevertheless, the love and tolerance the older generation of the Yuan Family showed their children was something many strict families could not compare with. It was more than enough to make Huai Shi feel the profound weight of this trust.

He—no, she—was silent for a moment, then asked seriously, ”Have you decided?”

Yuan Yuan nodded again, without any hesitation.

So, Huai Shi took a pen from her pocket and swiftly wrote her name in the signature field below. ”Well then,” she announced, ”I accept your mentorship application.”

Lin Nineteen, who stood beside them, watched with wide eyes.

Incredible. I mean, why is it that while we’re all students, the treatment is completely different? Why did I have to cry, make a scene, and threaten to hang myself, but when it comes to Yuan Yuan, things become so happy and simple? Is the gap between a ’stinky guy’ and a ’pretty young lady’ really that large?

He dared not speak out nor ask, and he also couldn’t immediately go to Southeast Asia for one of those ’locally characteristic’ surgeries; he could only silently suck on lemons in his heart.

Somehow, he suddenly felt that his days of aggrieved sulking, like a resentful spouse, would be very long...

And when Yuan Yuan stood before them again, wielding the Mountain Monarch’s Heavy Sword, everyone realized—after going around in circles, things had returned to their original track.

The only difference was that this time, Yuan Yuan had more justification to cut them down, felt more carefree doing so, and was even swifter about it. Nothing fundamental had changed at all.

Jacob’s expression twitched, and he forced a smile. ”Doing this is somewhat against the rules, isn’t it?”

”Then what would be considered within the rules?” Huai Shi retorted coldly. ”Why is it always your side that’s right? You can’t monopolize all the benefits, can you? Or are you saying that when you do it, it’s ’seizing victory,’ but when I do it, it’s ’baseless nitpicking’? Since some people prefer punishment to a toast, perhaps we should ask the school administration to make a ruling. How about that?”

Silence descended abruptly.

Jacob’s face grew uglier by the second.

”Why be so aggressive, Teacher Huai Shi?” he questioned in a low voice. ”These students just made a small mistake. Do you really intend to take things to such an extreme?”

There was no outburst of rage as he might have expected.

Huai Shi smiled broadly.

”Well then, let’s consider the first matter closed. Now, let’s talk about the second matter—”

Jacob suddenly felt an ominous premonition.
