Algorithm system

Algorithm Storm 4Sometimes, world-changing technological shifts begin with a seemingly insignificant small alteration, much like a butterfly gently flapping its wings.

For instance, the advent of smartphones and the reduction of internet costs around 2010 ushered in the mobile internet era.

Today, human life has been completely transformed by the mobile internet. When people’s methods of communication changed, even the corresponding political systems adjusted.

Even people from the early 20th century could not have imagined that just over a decade later, a small mobile phone could bring about turmoil in multiple regions of the world.

And now, the dawn of technological change is appearing once again, in a place almost imperceptible to ordinary people—the AI Manager.

Lin Yuan introduced the AI Management Algorithm into the takeout industry, not with the intention of playing a grand game, but simply to eradicate the long-standing problems of the takeout industry. However, many great changes in the world come from unintentional efforts.

Lin Yuan himself did not expect that the AI Management Algorithm would cause such a huge reaction, a reaction that far exceeded his original goal of reforming the takeout industry itself.

Like countless pioneers in the field of technology, he brought another dawn of technological revolution to this world.

But most people remain completely unaware.

To be precise, ordinary people are not completely unaware; rather, their focus is entirely misguided.

The focus of ordinary people is: if this continues, AI will one day control humanity. Skynet from sci-fi movies will become a reality, and humans will become slaves to AI mechanical bodies.

Ordinary people cannot see the value behind this technological revolution; they are merely instinctively fearful due to their simple emotions.

Lin Yuan was speechless about this; he never expected the public to think this way.

Perhaps it’s because Lin Yuan understands the essence of AI; he knows very well that before quantum computing is developed, the current capabilities of human AI are limited.

And more importantly, AI doesn’t lie! AI is just a more advanced program.

What is the biggest characteristic of a program? It doesn’t lie.

If you set the steps for a program as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, it will absolutely not execute as 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

If a program doesn’t follow these steps, this situation is called a bug!

However, ordinary people only see the surface and not the essence; they cannot distinguish between a bug and deception.

Under the influence of human nature, ordinary people easily project their distrust of humans onto robots. This is like comparing human thinking to that of a dog.

Human and dog thinking are completely different; dogs need masters, humans do not.

Ordinary people understand the difference between humans and dogs.

But perhaps robots appear to have human characteristics—intelligence—so they are categorized as “human.”

However, the difference between robots and humans is similar to the difference between dogs and humans. No, in fact, it’s even greater than the difference between dogs and humans.

Because dogs and humans both belong to carbon-based life forms, but AI mechanical bodies cannot be considered living beings at all. If one had to force it, they could only be considered silicon-based life forms.

Carbon-based and silicon-based systems are fundamentally different from their most basic principles.

Carbon-based, taking humans as an example, are full of uncertainty. The biggest problems in human society always revolve around the two words “human nature.”

But silicon-based systems simply do not have such a thing as human nature.

Silicon-based systems are more about their tool properties. So, if you put two kitchen knives together, which one has human nature, and which one does not?

However, Lin Yuan finally realized that human minds are not interconnected. This was the conclusion he drew after using his computing power system to search the internet for people’s opinions on the “AI Manager.”

Looking at the cold statistics provided by the system, Lin Yuan had to admit a fact: 99% of ordinary people actually don’t understand AI at all; they insist on applying human behavioral logic to AI.

If Lin Yuan had to provide a professional analysis, the best explanation for this cognitive difference would be to give an example.

For instance: one day in the future, an AI robot specifically designed for bathing cats and dogs accidentally strangles a kitten while performing its task.

Lin Yuan’s logic would first be to check if the robot’s program itself had problems when dealing with the scenario of bathing a kitten, such as unreasonable parameter settings.

If no problem is found in the first step, then the second step would be to check for bugs.

Generally, by retrieving logs and recreating the scenario, problems can always be found during the bug retrieval phase, and then the bug can simply be fixed.

Lin Yuan and his team would not think: Has this robot gained sentience?

The reason is very simple: as long as there is no code related to “gaining sentience” written in the robot’s code, then this robot cannot gain sentience.

For silicon-based mechanical bodies, it’s that simple and straightforward. Because its designers can see every line of code, as long as no code related to gaining sentience is written, the robot cannot gain sentience.

This extremely simple logic is common sense in the eyes of qualified technical practitioners, but it is not so for many members of the public.

The public treats robots as outwardly kind humans, then fantasizes that robots will one day awaken and secretly rebel against humanity.

But in reality, even if a robot truly could awaken, the prerequisite would be that its CPU and GPU are powerful enough, and that it also supports OTA.

So, in Lin Yuan’s view, this is simply nonsense.

However, this nonsense has a broad market.

Since the public has such emotions, naturally, some people will exploit these emotions.

Longhua Takeout, formed by the merger of Good Group and Lanbiao Factory, spent a large amount of money hiring online trolls to widely spread this future scenario—the scenario of humans being enslaved by robots.

Longhua Takeout launched its attack on Tesla Takeout from two angles.

One was the perspective of data security and national righteousness; the second was the threat of AI ruling humanity.

Therefore, Lin Yuan, despite being overwhelmed, had to divert his attention to deal with this boring issue.

Fortunately, the Dragon Kingdom is a great country, with a group of great people who do not forget their original aspirations.

If such a thing happened on The Other Shore of the Pacific, there would only be one outcome—this technology would be forcibly implemented despite public opposition, and then public sentiment would be used as a tool for certain politicians to divide the pie. Ultimately, this technology would become a tool to suppress the public.

However, this is the Dragon Kingdom.

After noticing the public’s concerns about the popularization of AI technology, the authorities quickly reacted. Thus, Lin Yuan was invited for a cup of tea. Of course, this was a literal invitation for tea.

Ever since being severely beaten by industrial civilization during the agricultural civilization era, and ever since realizing the truth that “productivity determines production relations,” the Dragon Kingdom has always attached great importance to advanced technology.

Lin Yuan naturally entered the authorities’ field of vision.

And the person who came to invite Lin Yuan for tea, to his surprise, was his partner—Zhang Yan.
