Alchemy Master

Chapter 853, Not Ordinary Fire

Translator: Silavin

“We are finally back!” As he stepped through the massive Array light barrier, Dong Yu let out a long breath of relief, the weight that had been pressing on his heart finally lifting.

Just as the three of them entered the Brilliant Sky Sacred Land, several sounds of wind breaking came from the distance. In the next instant, several figures appeared within their line of sight.

“Brother Dong, Qin Yichen!”

At the forefront of those figures was unmistakably Manager Lin from the Outer Sect Battle Hall.

At this moment, his face did not carry its usual stern expression. As his gaze fell upon Dong Yu and Qin Yichen, a small smile actually emerged.

“The Inner Sect has sent word for you to head immediately to the Pill Hall upon your return.” Manager Lin’s gaze swept over Feng Qianxue, and he couldn’t help but exchange a meaningful glance with Qin Yichen before speaking.

“Inner Sect Pill Hall?” Dong Yu’s eyebrows lifted. It seemed that the higher-ups in the Sacred Land were already aware of what had happened outside. The previous report about being ambushed had likely attracted the attention of major figures in the Inner Sect.

He had certainly benefited considerably from Qin Yichen’s influence. Ordinarily, he only had the privilege of entering the Pill Hall once a year when reporting on the Outer Sect Pill Hall’s situation.

“Let’s get her registered first.” Afterwards, under the guidance of Dong Yu and Manager Lin, the group made their way to the Western Brilliant Hall.

Elder Hua remained buried in a thick book as usual.

“You and your infernal racket! Are you all itching for a beating!?” After being called several times, Elder Hua lifted his head, roaring like an enraged lion, showing absolutely no face to anyone.

Feng Qianxue hid behind Qin Yichen, looking at him timidly.

“We humbly request that Elder Hua register this Young Lady.” Although he had been thoroughly scolded, Dong Yu still maintained his smile.

“Register what? Record what? Whoever wants to register can just do so…” Elder Hua continued his tirade, but as his gaze casually swept over Feng Qianxue behind Qin Yichen, his pupils dilated slightly. His cursing stopped abruptly, his gaze fixed rigidly on Feng Qianxue.

In the next instant, he appeared beside Qin Yichen, startling Feng Qianxue so much that she hid completely behind him.

“Ah…” Only then did Elder Hua pause in surprise.

His unusual behaviour left Dong Yu and Manager Lin completely baffled. They wanted to ask but did not know how to broach the subject.

Since entering the Sacred Land, they had never seen Elder Hua behave in such a startled manner.

Qin Yichen, after a moment of surprise, seemed to understand something.

He knew Feng Qianxue’s secret. Perhaps Elder Hua had also sensed something.

“Qianxue, it’s alright. Elder Hua won’t harm you.” Qin Yichen turned around, comforting the somewhat frightened Feng Qianxue, taking her hand and encouraging her.

Only then did Elder Hua realise his behaviour was inappropriate. He returned to sit behind his desk, though his gaze remained fixed on Feng Qianxue beside Qin Yichen. Deep within his pupils, a slight tremor of emotion rippled through, his feelings surging.

“What is your name?” After a long while, Elder Hua finally regained his composure, asking Feng Qianxue in a somewhat calm tone.

“Feng Qianxue.”

“Feng?” A trace of confusion flashed through Elder Hua’s eyes. His mouth moved as if he wanted to press further, but seeing Dong Yu and Manager Lin standing there, he swallowed his questions.

After completing the registration, Dong Yu and the others left the Western Brilliant Hall utterly bewildered.

What they did not know was that shortly after their departure, Elder Hua left the Western Brilliant Hall, heading straight for the Inner Sect’s main peak.

A True Phoenix Martial Soul!

There was absolutely no mistaking it.

The True Phoenix Martial Soul belonged to the realm of legend.

And from Feng Qianxue’s body, he had sensed the existence of a True Phoenix.

“Sacred Master!” Outside a chamber, Elder Hua stopped in his tracks.

“Oh? How did you manage to tear yourself away to come here, Old Friend? Come in.” Sacred Master Yu Qianqiu’s voice, tinged with some surprise, came from within the room.

Elder Hua pushed open the door to find that besides the Sacred Master, there was another person present.

The Pill Hall’s Hall Master.

“*Ha…* You’re quite the rare visitor.” Upon seeing him, the Pill Hall Master immediately teased.

*Hmph!* Elder Hua snorted lightly and walked over. The three of them sat on the floor.

“Sacred Master…” Elder Hua seemed hesitant to speak.

“Speak freely.” Yu Qianqiu’s lips curved in a smile.

“You old thing, what matter requires you to keep even me in the dark?” Seeing his manner, the Pill Hall Master chided him without courtesy.

Elder Hua rolled his eyes at him. After considering Qin Yichen’s identity, he spoke with utmost seriousness. “Today, a boy called Qin Yichen brought a young girl to my place for registration.”

“Oh, so he has returned.” Upon hearing this, the Pill Hall Master’s eyes immediately lit up, and he was about to rise and leave.

“Yes, I granted him that quota.” Yu Qianqiu assumed the message had not reached Elder Hua and explained, but noticed something unusual in Elder Hua’s expression. He then asked, “Could there be something amiss with that young girl?”

In truth, he did not particularly care whom Qin Yichen brought into the Sacred Land. Since Qin Yichen himself had requested it, it meant the person he was bringing into the Sacred Land was someone very important to him. Therefore, regardless of that person’s talent, the Sacred Land would choose to accept them.

Even if that person were merely an ordinary individual!

“Sacred Master, that young girl…”

At this point, Elder Hua’s emotions grew somewhat agitated. Even the Pill Hall Master looked at his ‘Old Friend’ with astonishment. Finally, Elder Hua took a deep breath and said, “That young girl possesses a True Phoenix Martial Soul!”

“True Phoenix Martial Soul?”

“What!? A True Phoenix Martial Soul!?”

Initially, Yu Qianqiu hadn’t paid much attention, but in the next moment, this Sacred Land Master’s expression changed colour. He immediately pressed: “Are you certain? It’s truly a True Phoenix Martial Soul?!”

Fire Attribute Martial Souls were not particularly rare.

But having the character for ‘Phoenix’ made it entirely different. What more, a True Phoenix Martial Soul.

“I am absolutely certain!”

Elder Hua stated with ironclad conviction.

*Whoosh!* At this, Yu Qianqiu could no longer remain seated. He stood up.

If these words had come from anyone else’s mouth, their credibility might not be great. But Elder Hua was different.

Because Elder Hua had once passed by the Nine Heavens Flaming Sea and even had the fortune to witness a powerful being from that mysterious race.

Yu Qianqiu stepped out of the chamber, standing at the edge of the mist-wreathed cliff. His eyes became completely luminous, like twin Suns crossing the sky, capable of illuminating all things and seeing for a thousand kilometres.

Elder Hua and the Pill Hall Master stood behind him, waiting silently.

…

Within the Inner Sect.

Qin Yichen, who was heading towards the Pill Hall, suddenly raised his head, looking towards the sky. He seemed to sense something, but after scanning around and finding nothing, he could only let the matter rest.

…

“Indeed, as you said, what is within that young girl’s body is no ordinary flame!” A moment later, Yu Qianqiu withdrew his gaze, his tone no longer calm.

Silavin: Okay, so here is the thing. Author has changed it to Fire Phoenix Martial Soul, but it should be True Phoenix Martial Soul. Scanning the later Chapters, it seems like he genuinely wants to downgrade her. So, it is not like these people failed to tell it apart.

For the sake of consistency, I’ll do what I normally do, which is keep things consistent and try to fix these gaps.
