Alchemy Master

Chapter 618, A True Female Warrior

Translator: Silavin

After much difficulty in waiting for the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce to stabilise, Ye Liangchen finally found time to travel thousands of kilometres to the Shi Family in Gathering Cloud Province to propose marriage. However, just as he emerged from the Shi Family Residence, a catastrophe occurred.

Throughout their journey, several Spirit Realm experts protecting them had all been shot dead by the pursuing soldiers.

At this moment, those soldiers seemed either to be deliberately toying with them or had run out of crossbow bolts, as they did not continue shooting. Instead, they chased them across the plains at full gallop. Had their Demonic Beasts not possessed such excellent stamina and strength, they would likely have been captured alive long ago.

Behind Ye Liangchen and Shi Jingmu, those soldiers were evidently growing impatient.

“They had been running for dozens of kilometres already! For a Demonic Beast to be able to carry two fat asses, it must be no ordinary creature!”

At the forefront of the hundred-plus pursuers was a middle-aged burly man dressed in commander’s attire. His eyes were fixed intently on the snow-white Demonic Beast silhouette ahead, filled with greedy desire.

Had he not feared injuring that Demonic Beast, he would have ordered those two shots full of arrows long ago.

“Hehe, not only that Demonic Beast, but looking at those two’s luxurious clothing, their identities are probably not simple either!”

Beside this commander-like middle-aged man, another person’s eyes were also filled with mockery.

“Yeah, kill one, keep one! Put in more effort! Don’t get too far from the main force! If we encounter experts from the Great Prosperity Grand Empire, that would be troublesome.”

“Yes!”

As the words fell, the two at the front stamped their feet and shot forward explosively. Their speed was several points faster than the white Demonic Beast ahead.

At this moment, the Demonic Beast beneath Ye Liangchen’s feet finally began to tire, its pace slowing.

“What’s this? Can’t run anymore?”

The middle-aged commander and another man blocked Ye Liangchen and his companion from front and back, laughing mockingly. “Come on, keep running!”

“Damn it! If you’ve got business, come at me! Don’t touch my woman!” Seeing the heavily panting Demonic Beast, Ye Liangchen gritted his teeth and leaped down.

“Liangchen, don’t!” The moment Ye Liangchen alighted, Shi Jingmu also dismounted and stood in front of him.

Upon seeing Shi Jingmu, the commander’s mouth twitched obviously. Originally, he had thought this was a man, never expecting it to be a female warrior who was even more burly than most men!

“Jingmu, if anyone’s going to die, I’ll die first!”

“No, Liangchen, I promised Father I would take care of you!”

“Jingmu, step aside! As a man, how can I hide behind a woman!”

“*Wuu wuu*, Liangchen…”

After Shi Jingmu dismounted, the two actually temporarily ignored the Spirit Realm commander who had intercepted them, openly displaying their affection.

The commander was now completely exasperated. If not for seeing these two dressing luxuriously, potentially holding considerable wealth, he would have killed them with one stroke each long ago!

However, even so, the commander finally could not endure being so blatantly ignored while they displayed their affection. Most crucially, these two people looked so… so ‘peculiar’!

“Silence! Whoever wants to die first, say another word!” The middle-aged commander drew his sword from his waist and shouted loudly.

However, to his great embarrassment, the two merely paused briefly at his words, then both competed to speak.

“Then, have the guts to kill me first!”

“No, Liangchen, let me protect you!”

“If you’re a bloody man, stop dithering and give me a quick death! Targeting a woman, what kind of creature are you!?”

Their fearless words caused the middle-aged commander’s head to throb. A woman actually saying she would protect a man, and that fatty willing to die for a woman more manly than most men. For a moment, he could not help wondering whether the Great Prosperity Grand Empire’s aesthetic standards had fallen to such depths.

“Enough noise!” Finally, in the next instant, this middle-aged commander’s patience reached its limit. He swung his great sword, and as Yuan Energy surged violently, a blade beam burst forth, shooting explosively towards Ye Liangchen.

“Ah!!”

In this instant, Ye Liangchen and Shi Jingmu cried out in alarm. Both moved simultaneously, their four palms reaching out to block that powerful blade beam.

“Damn it, they are really not afraid to die!?” Seeing this scene, the commander’s mouth twitched. He had hoped to keep one alive to extract some wealth. Immediately, he pulled back his arm, and that Yuan Energy blade beam dimmed somewhat.

However, even so, this Spirit Realm expert’s attack was not something two mere Martial Grandmasters could withstand.

*Bang!* Upon first contact, a muffled sound rang out. Then Ye Liangchen and Shi Jingmu’s bodies were violently thrown backwards, while that Yuan Energy blade beam merely paused briefly before continuing with sharp, fierce energy towards them.

In their eyes, the blade beam rapidly enlarged. At this moment, Ye Liangchen threw himself over Shi Jingmu without hesitation, but at the crucial moment, Shi Jingmu rolled on top of him instead.

“No!” At this moment, Ye Liangchen’s eyes finally showed panic. Looking at Shi Jingmu’s gentle smile, his eyes filled with moisture as he tried to push her away, only to discover that burly frame was beyond his power to move.

Just then, a subtle sound arose without warning in the sky. Next, a slender figure appeared like a phantom in Ye Liangchen’s vision, while that blade beam automatically dissipated when still a meter away from this figure.

Seeing this familiar silhouette, Ye Liangchen’s moisture-filled eyes suddenly widened enormously, filled with disbelief. Before him, the expected severe pain did not come, and Shi Jingmu also opened her eyes in confusion.

“Damn, is this a hallucination?” Ye Liangchen murmured lowly, somewhat dazedly pinching Shi Jingmu’s thick waist. Then, feeling her retaliatory domineering embrace, he struggled with his somewhat breathless body to look pitifully at that figure.

“Hey, are you alright?”

Hearing this voice, Shi Jingmu also turned sharply around, only then discovering that somehow, a smiling figure had appeared before her.

“Qin… Qin…” Seeing this figure, Shi Jingmu’s entire body trembled. She hastily released Ye Liangchen, standing beside him like a little girl.

Because this person was the legend of the Great Prosperity Grand Empire. Most importantly, the matter between her and Ye Liangchen had required his assistance…

This person was naturally Qin Yichen.

His expression at this moment was not relaxed.

Ye Liangchen and his companion were being pursued and killed within his own territory. This suggested just how critical the situation in the Great Prosperity Grand Empire had become.
