1773  I Like You

The old man from the Vaergahl Family felt relieved after seeing that the Toad Clan Leader was eventually subdued. Lucas and Grey had withdrawn their killing intent, but they didnʼt wear friendly smiles, after all, the Toad would definitely hold a grudge against them. Thereʼs a chance that in the future, theyʼd have to face the Toad once again. Until then, there was nothing to worry about. Since it had handed its soul brand to Sir Astarot, then this matter was settled.

Lucas removed the barrier he set up. Sir Astarot did the same.

Of everyone present, the one with the lowest cultivation stage and also the youngest was actually the one who somehow was able to settle the matter. Although it was purely due to trickery and Sir Astarot offering some assistance, it still didnʼt change the fact that Grey was a frightening figure. Being able to use a statement from Sir Astarot to seem like it was an execution order for the Toad Clan Leader is a sign of his quick-wittedness.

ʼThe young will eventually overthrow the old.ʼ

Sir Astarot is well aware of this, not just it, but even the old man from the Vaergahl Family was left speechless by Greyʼs wits. Only after getting the timely reminder from Grey did he understand that Sir Astarotʼs words could be used against the Toad Clan Leader. Sir Astarot might not have meant it in that manner, but it also wanted to make sure this matter was settled nonviolently, so the second it saw that an opportunity had presented itself due to its vague words, it also capitalized on it.

The Toad Clan Leader was still exuding a vicious aura, it was clearly infuriated at the thought of being forced to hand over its soul brand to Sir Astarot, but since it had some relationship with Sir Astarot, it didnʼt stay vexed for too long. It just felt ashamed that it was forced into a corner after being the one who instigated everything. Having to suffer a loss at the hands of humans left a bitter taste in its mouth.

”Get out of my territory, this King will not see you out.” The Toad Clan Leader was too ashamed to stay any longer, so with this statement, it gave the other three Toads a knowing look before its huge body sank into the murky water.

Seeing him leave without hesitation, the three Toads, although curious about what happened, didnʼt try to inquire from Sir Astarot and the others and hastily went after their Clan Leader.

Sir Astarot already knew that the Toad Clan Leader would not be in a good mood after eating such a loss. It laughed, taking pleasure in the Toad Clan Leaderʼs suffering. They might not be enemies, but they canʼt also be called close friends either. Each party is secretly competing with each other, but given Sir Astarotʼs higher abilities and bloodline being a Dragon, it was able to naturally suppress the other Clan Leaders. If not, it wouldnʼt be treated with this much respect.

”Boy, youʼre quite bold.” Sir Astarotʼs gaze landed on Grey as it looked at him with great curiosity. To be honest, it had been quite curious about Grey after sensing his unique physique. Watching him act in such a manner made its impression of Grey to soar. In fact, it thought more highly of Grey than Lucas who was a Half God expert. If others hear that a legendary Dragon thought more highly of a Sixth stage Sovereign than a Half God expert, they would never believe it.

”Itʼs all thanks to Seniorʼs cooperation.” Grey hurriedly bowed, replying respectfully, he looked at Sir Astarot and apologized, ”If my words a few minutes ago offended Senior in any way, I hope Senior can forgive me. I could only borrow Seniorʼs great strength due to the situation.”

Hearing Greyʼs words, Sir Astarot was slightly taken aback, but after thinking about it, it couldnʼt help but take another deep look at Grey. The more it communicated with the latter, the more it realized that it was still underestimating Greyʼs ability.

From Greyʼs words, itʼs easy to see that he knew for a fact that Sir Astarotʼs words, although vague, carried little threat to the Toad Clan Leader. But taking the current situation into context and with the way Lucas also put it, it was almost like Sir Astarot was silently saying itʼll look the other way if they decided to kill the Toad Clan Leader, which was not its intention.

Grey knew this, but still boldly used it against the Toad Clan Leader. This was also one of the reasons Sir Astarot told Grey he was bold, because he literally lied with Sir Astarotʼs name, while the other party was even present before him. The guts needed to even carry out such a thing is unimaginable. If Sir Astarot had been offended by this and didnʼt cooperate but attacked them instead, the situation wouldʼve escalated even further, and at that time, there might even be a chance that Lucas and the old man from the Vaergahl Family would not be able to escape.

”Hahaha, I like you kid.” Sir Astarot laughed, not offended by Greyʼs previous actions. Grey apologizing made it like Grey even more. Magical Beasts have always been bold, so seeing a little human show such boldness, it felt pleased, after its laughter, a meaningful look appeared on its face as it added, ”Youʼll stay with me a little longer after this. I have some things to discuss with you.”

Lucas and the old man from the Vaergahl Family didnʼt understand why Sir Astarot told Grey to stay behind after the meeting or what it planned to discuss with Grey.

Grey was also taken by surprise, he didnʼt expect Sir Astarot to actually have something to discuss with him. He had been in the Magical Beastsʼ Inner Court for a few days now, and other than silently following behind Sir Astarot and the old man from the Vaergahl Family, he had barely had any conversations with it. Now it took the initiative to tell him they had something to discuss, he was a bit hesitant and took a glance at his father, hoping to seek his opinion.

Hereʼs the chap guys! Donʼt forget to!
