Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1808: Zhang Fei Vs Shang Zhanluo II

Hearing that Zhang Fei and Shang Zhanluo were going to spar, Shang Dongzhu and the three asura guardians rushed to the training ground. The sound of explosions and a strong wave of wind greeted them upon their arrival, pushing them back several steps.

Shang Dongzhu trembled when he saw the war god’s silhouette. When they fought seven months ago, Zhang Fei had also used that technique against him, which resulted in his crushing defeat. At that time, he suffered severe injuries, and seven months had passed since then, but he had not fully recovered.

Shang Nanzhui and the other two did not pay attention to the war god’s silhouette. Their gazes were completely on Zhang Fei and Shang Zhanluo, who were standing so close to each other, with their right fists colliding with each other.

They were shocked to see that Shang Zhanluo had already used the Bloodline Awakening technique, yet Zhang Fei was able to stand his ground and block his attack, which was unbelievable.

Shang Dongzhu’s face turned pale after witnessing that; he himself was unable to withstand Shang Zhanluo’s attack when he used his Bloodline Awakening technique, but Zhang Fei was able to do that without using his strengthening technique.

Shang Zhui and Shang Luohu didn’t show their shock on their faces, but they were truly shocked deep inside. They knew that Zhang Fei was powerful, but Shang Zhanluo’s attack, which utilized his Bloodline Awakening technique, surpassed many expectations, and Zhang Fei blocked it with his fist.

Unlike them, Shang Xueli was no longer surprised at Zhang Fei’s strength; he had defeated the two avatars of the primordial beasts, who had superior strength to her father.

Hua Qianmei and Gongsun Zhilan, who were watching from the sidelines, only smiled at that. Over the past month, they had witnessed Zhang Fei hunting those mindless demons in the Myriad Abyss Demon Dungeon, so they were more or less familiar with his strength.

Shang Zhanluo’s eyes trembled as he looked at Zhang Fei in disbelief; he tried to push his hand forward, but he still couldn’t push him back. ”Your cultivation is still at the Celestial Emperor Realm, but your strength far surpasses my expectations! I’ve already used my Bloodline Awakening technique, yet you can still withstand my attack.”

Zhang Fei smirked and punched Shang Zhanluo’s fist, causing him to stumble several steps back. ”You don’t need to be surprised by that because I’m an expert body cultivator, and my body cultivation level has reached the Divine Body Stage. Besides, I’ve mastered nine body cultivation techniques, and I’m also using my strengthening technique right now.”

”Hmm?” Shang Zhanluo was shocked to hear that Zhang Fei mastered nine body cultivation techniques, which was unheard of before. As far as he knew, all body cultivators could only learn one body cultivation technique due to its complexity, and those who were talented in that cultivation path could learn two techniques, yet he mastered nine techniques. ”How did you manage to master that much?”

”Because I’m special.”

Shang Zhanluo became alert as soon as Zhang Fei disappeared from his sight. His eyes kept moving around, and he also spread his senses to track Zhang Fei’s movements.

Unfortunately, Zhang Fei’s speed had already surpassed that of a normal cultivator, as he had perfectly adapted to level eight gravity.

Although Shang Zhanluo was a demon god, he was a demon who relied entirely on physical strength, which made his speed as slow as a snail in front of Zhang Fei.

Even so, Shang Zhanluo’s fighting instincts were sharp, and he managed to block Zhang Fei’s surprise attack, though not completely.

Shang Zhanluo stabilized his body and activated his defense. A blood-red sphere enveloped his surroundings, and he tried to predict Zhang Fei’s next movement.

*Bam*

Shang Zhanluo staggered back again, and his blood-red sphere disappeared after being hit by Zhang Fei’s attack. ’Impossible! How could he destroy my blood sphere with just one attack?’

”Don’t think too much.”

”Shit!” Shang Zhanluo wanted to spin around to block the next attack, but Zhang Fei’s attack was too fast and landed squarely on his back. ”Gah!”

In that moment, Shang Zhanluo was sent flying forward and nearly hit the wall, but he immediately rolled in midair and planted his feet on it, causing it to crack.

Shang Zhanluo jumped down and looked at Zhang Fei, who was standing in mid-air a little distance in front of him.

Shang Zhanluo took a deep breath and spoke. ”How about we end this spar using our strongest attacks?”

”How do you want to end it?”

Shang Zhanluo raised his right hand and clenched his fist. ”Fist against fist.”

”Are you sure about that?” Zhang Fei didn’t look down on Shang Zhanluo, but he was confident in his physical strength. If they really did that, he was afraid his opponent’s hand would be crushed.

”I’m sure.” Shang Zhanluo unleashed his full strength and prepared to attack Zhang Fei. ”If I lose, I will join you unconditionally, and I will hand over my daughter to you.”

Hearing that, Shang Xueli blushed and lowered her head. In fact, she had long looked forward to becoming Zhang Fei’s wife, but he had no intention of making a move on her because of her father.

Shang Luohu looked at her daughter with a smile on her face. She caressed her daughter’s head. ”Are you happy?”

”Uhm.” Shang Xueli shyly nodded.

Zhang Fei’s lips twitched. ”Your daughter has long been in love with me, and the outcome of our battle will not affect the situation. If I manage to defeat you, you must hand over your Asura Demon Race treasure to me.”

”Eh?” Shang Zhanluo looked at Zhang Fei in surprise. ”How did you know about my race’s treasure?”

”The Slaughter Blood Phantom told me about it.”

Shang Zhanluo didn’t believe Zhang Fei because his race guardian couldn’t talk, and it didn’t know about the treasure either. He took out a blood crystal and showed it to him. ”Actually, this treasure is not that useful, and it is just a symbol of being the leader of our race. If you defeat me, I will give it to you, and my race will follow you.”

’Is it possible that the system will give me useless quests?’ Zhang Fei shook his head and unleashed his strength. ”Let’s do it then.”

”Let’s go!”

Zhang Fei and Shang Zhanluo flew towards each other, and their fists collided moments later.

*Boom*

The explosion from Zhang Fei’s and Shang Zhanluo’s attacks sent the four asura guardians flying and rolling backwards.

Hua Qianmei and Gongsun Zhilan moved in front of Shang Luohu and Shang Xueli; they protected the two women from the effects of Zhang Fei’s and Shang Zhanluo’s attacks.

Moments later, they saw that the training ground had become a mess, and Shang Zhanluo was kneeling inside the crater while looking at Zhang Fei, who was standing above him.

”I lost.” Shang Zhanluo manfully acknowledged Zhang Fei’s superiority, and he threw the treasure to him.

Zhang Fei smiled with satisfaction after the two notifications appeared, indicating that all quests for the Asura Demon Race had been completed. He looked at the treasure for a moment before putting it into the inventory, and he threw a few pills to Shang Zhanluo. ”Those pills will help you recover faster.”

”Thank you.” Shang Zhanluo immediately swallowed the pills, stood up, and wiped his blood.

”Husband!”

”Father!”

Shang Luohu and Shang Xueli flew quickly towards Shang Zhanluo, and they immediately checked his condition. They breathed a sigh of relief after finding that he hadn’t suffered any serious injuries.

Shang Luohu looked at Zhang Fei. ”Thank you for not using all your strength; otherwise, my husband would have been seriously injured.”

”You’re wrong about that, you know? I used all my strength in my attack just now, but I didn’t use my strengthening technique.” Zhang Fei looked at Shang Zhanluo and continued. ”Your husband is a fighter, and he is very proud of his strength, so he will be disappointed if I don’t use all my strength.”

”Zhang Fei is right, wife. His attack just now used up all his strength, and I lost to him. If he had used his strengthening technique, I would have died on the spot.” Shang Zhanluo patted his daughter’s head. ”I wronged you in the past, but I won’t repeat the same mistake. From now on, you can follow him, and you must cultivate more diligently. When your cultivation has reached the Celestial Venerable Realm, I will pass on my power to you, and you will be the next leader of our race.”

Shang Xueli looked at her father and blinked a few times. ”Father, I’ve never thought about becoming the leader of our race, and I want to live my own life.”

”But—”

”You have to impregnate my mother again, and your second child will be the next leader of our race.” Shang Zhanluo and Shang Luohu smiled bitterly upon hearing that, but then Shang Xueli pointed to Zhang Fei. ”If my mother has difficulty conceiving again, he can help you two make it happen.”

Zhang Fei landed in front of them. ”When do you want to impregnate your wife again?”

”Can you really help me get pregnant again?” Shang Luohu asked without getting her hopes up.

Zhang Fei shrugged. ”One of my sisters-in-law is a female spirit, but I managed to help her get pregnant, and her son is quite old now.”

Shang Zhanluo and Shang Luohu exchanged glances for a moment. ”In that case, we need your help.”

”Alright.”
