Chapter 743, The Terrifying Frost Dragon King

However, what happened next made Lu Fan breathe a sigh of relief.

After the Frost Dragon King descended upon this land, the oppressive aura emanating from its body was rapidly diminishing, as though its Level was plummeting at breakneck speed, coming down to a Level comparable to Lu Fan’s own.

Soon, Lu Fan used Appraisal once more, and could see that the Frost Dragon King’s Level had dropped to 90, just at a Human’s Fourth Profession Change.

After this point, it ceased declining further, as though Level 90 was its minimum Level.

A Level 90 Mythical Grade Boss would undoubtedly be far more powerful than other entities like the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw or Left Claw.

From a certain perspective, if there were no special restraining Mechanism at play, Mythical Grade existences were the strongest beings at their respective Levels.

Lu Fan was only Level 78, facing a level 90 Mythical Grade Boss, he virtually had no chance of victory.

However, Lu Fan possessed several Level 78 Mythical Grade Pet Dragons, which was his only means of matching the Frost Dragon King’s strength.

The 12 Level gap versus the numerical disparity between ten Pet Dragons against one Frost Dragon King. It made this battle fraught with uncertainty. Even Lu Fan could not say for certain whether he could actually win.

But at this point, having reached the final trial of the Seven Trials, there was no room for retreat.

If he backed down now before this Level 90 Mythical Grade Boss, then passing the previous six trials would have been done in vain.

[Fine! I accept this battle!]

He did not act rashly or blindly summon all his Pet Dragons to clash head-on. Instead, he planned to first test the opponent’s true capabilities using his Golden Dragon King Form.

“Xiao Cui, use Jade Mirror Image first, made Mirror Image Projections of me to test its strength!” Lu Fan immediately commanded. Though Xiao Cui was above his head, still in her Soul Light Form, her speed in casting Jade Mirror Image was swift as ever.

In the blink of an eye, eight Mirror Image Projections of Lu Fan took shape. Eight Golden Dragon Kings roared as they flew towards the Frost Dragon King, ready to engage in mortal combat.

Seeing this, the Frost Dragon King naturally would not allow these Golden Dragon Kings, much smaller than itself, to attack without any resistance.

It roared. An icy breath emanated from its mouth, while azure light gathered within, clearly accumulating some formidable Skill.

Lu Fan’s pupils contracted upon witnessing this, as an ominous feeling welled up in his heart.

During the previous six trials, he had witnessed many characteristics of the Frost Dragon King, its powerful defensive capabilities, excellent Self-Healing abilities, and tremendously destructive Skill Power.

However, the Frost Dragon King’s most formidable Crowd Control Skills had yet to be displayed. Even for its Right Claw, that was mostly focused on Magic Attack, yet it already showcased such potent Crowd Control!

Now, with only the final trial remaining, it was obvious that the Frost Dragon Clan’s Crowd Control would inevitably be revealed in this trial!

As if confirming Lu Fan’s suspicions, the Frost Dragon King suddenly lowered its head, and a Dragon Breath erupted from its maw.

Instantly, overwhelming wind and snow spewed forth, immediately forming a massive fan-shaped area that covered everything before it.

The eight Golden Dragon King Mirror Image Projections charging towards it bore the brunt, caught within the blizzard’s reach.

Immediately, ice crystals began forming on the eight Golden Dragon Kings at tremendous speed. In merely two seconds, all eight Golden Dragon Kings were completely bound by ice crystals, transformed into massive ice sculptures.

Moreover, each snowflake within the Dragon Breath was like a steel blade, striking the ice sculptures alongside the icy breath itself, producing thunderous *clang!* sounds.

After another two seconds, the ice sculptures shattered completely, and the Golden Dragon King Mirror Image Projections were all disintegrated.

One could imagine that this terrifying Dragon Breath had likely transformed every affected being from head to toe, inside and out, into ice fragments, fusing everything with external ice crystals.

Therefore, once the ice crystals shattered, those trapped within would also be crushed along with the ice crystals.

Though this was an extremely powerful Crowd Control Skill, it was also exceptionally effective for clearing the field.

The eight Golden Dragon King Mirror Image Projections were virtually annihilated instantly, causing Lu Fan’s heart to race.

Though these Mirror Image Projections had inferior Attributes compared to himself, they still possessed 75% of his Attributes.

Seeing the Mirror Image Projections die so miserably, Lu Fan hardly believed he possessed the ability to withstand the Frost Dragon King’s Dragon Breath head-on.

If the opponent were merely a Level 78 Dragon King, Lu Fan might have been able to withstand its Dragon Breath using his Golden Dragon King Form.

But the opponent was a full Level 90. The gap between them was like that between a Fourth Profession Player and a Third Profession Player, placing him at an inherent disadvantage.

Therefore, under no circumstances could Lu Fan allow himself to be struck directly by the opponent’s Skill.

The death of the eight Golden Dragon King Mirror Image Projections served as a wake-up call for Lu Fan.

Without the slightest hesitation, he immediately retreated, seeking to distance himself from the range of the Frost Dragon King’s Dragon Breath.

Unfortunately, the opponent’s Dragon Breath Skill had an extremely wide range, and Lu Fan himself had been weakened by a full 50% in all kinds of Speed within this Map.

Even though Lu Fan retreated rapidly, he was still caught within its Effect.

The frigid Dragon Breath enveloped Lu Fan’s body. Though he was only at the Skill’s periphery, Lu Fan still felt bone-chilling cold.

Lu Fan, already afflicted with a Slow Debuff, discovered that the Debuff Effects on his body continued to surge, rapidly escalating from 50% and reaching 80% in an instant!

At this moment, Lu Fan felt his body gradually becoming unresponsive, with ice crystals appearing on his form, threatening to cover his entire body.

But he knew deeply that he must struggle to escape the coverage area of the Frost Dragon King’s Dragon Breath.

Once frozen solid, his fate would be identical to that of his Mirror Image Projections.

“Xiao Cui! Jade Light!” Lu Fan shouted, commanding Xiao Cui to cast her Skill to Cleanse the Debuff Effects on his body.

Xiao Cui proved exceptionally reliable, with Jade Light flashing repeatedly, enveloping Lu Fan.

Originally, Jade Light’s Cleaning Effect had no particular use for Lu Fan, since he naturally possessed 100% Debuff Resistance. The function of Jade Light was primarily to Enhance Attributes and Cleanse others.

Now, Jade Light’s Cleansing Effect had finally proved useful for him. As it took effect, it actually managed to Cleanse part of the Dragon Breath’s Crowd Control Effects, reducing Lu Fan’s Slow Debuff.

Jade Light also cleared away most of the ice crystals on Lu Fan’s body, and Lu Fan seized the opportunity to rapidly retreat, pulling back another fifty metres.

Only then did the Frost Dragon King’s Dragon Breath cease its continued spread. It seemed that even the Frost Dragon King’s Skills had limited range. Once the target escaped from it, they would be temporarily safe.
