Chapter 124 – 115 Stop Playing

This made Hamilton’s heart cry out “Damn!”

Because Rein practiced the Giant Bear Breathing Technique, even though he had transcended, he was still a strength-type knight. Facing a speed-type knight whose power vastly exceeded his own, he was inevitably pressed into a defensive battle.

If the roles were switched, then the fight might still be anyone’s game.

After all, it wasn’t that rare for a rookie knight with a speed advantage to dodge a few blows from an experienced strength-type knight if they were extra cautious.

Rein’s expression remained calm; facing the direction from which Calavi attacked again, he delivered a fierce Whirlwind Slash.

The opponent tapped the tip of his foot and leaped high, aiming for Rein’s head, his swords rapidly crossing in attack, executing a classic knightly sword technique—Cross Slash!

A chilling cross-shaped flash appeared before Rein’s eyes.

In the blink of an eye.

Unfazed, Rein countered with his Glimmering Greatsword, unleashing a powerful, forceful Furious Slash!

“Clang!”

Sparks flew in all directions!

The ear-piercing sound of metal clashing resonated.

Calavi, mid-air, swiftly performed a 360-degree turn to dissipate the force from that direct clash.

Meanwhile, Rein didn’t move an inch, not pursuing his opponent.

Logically speaking, his opponent, while still mid-air, was the perfect target.

Everyone was curious why Rein didn’t advance, but the sharp-eyed Matteo had already noticed that Rein’s boots had sunk into the ground by more than ten centimeters.

This astonishment left all the Night Watchmen dumbfounded!

To achieve that effect on the solid training ground! How immense the strength must be! They had tried stomping hard, but the ground would only kick up a bit of dust, hardly showing a footprint.

No wonder Rein hadn’t pursued his attack; he was also dissipating the counterforce.

“Swoosh!”

Calavi tapped the ground with his toe again, and in an instant, like an arrow off its bowstring, he surged toward Rein, his dual swords stabbing continuously at lightning speed.

“Hiss hiss hiss!”

The sharp sound of slicing air assaulted them!

Rein’s pupils narrowed as he swung the Glimmering Greatsword rapidly to block.

“Clang clang clang ding!”

The opponent’s sword speed was just too fast. Even though Rein had reached a transcendent state and greatly increased his strength, he still couldn’t fully block all the attacks.

A stab from the opponent heavily landed on Rein’s breastplate, producing a ‘ding’ sound!

Upon closer inspection, one could see a small dent on Rein’s breastplate.

Clearly, the opponent’s dual swords were not ordinary steel weapons, just like Rein’s Glimmering Greatsword; they must have been mixed with some rare metal, which explains their remarkable power.

Seeing this, Gordon couldn’t help but nod to himself, his face full of smiles.

“Hehe, with the next strike, this Rein probably won’t be so lucky.”

Continue the excitement on Novgo

“Calavi hasn’t even shown his real strength yet, and this lucky fellow is already unable to withstand it!”

At this point, Hamilton was already considering stopping this ‘unfair’ duel from continuing.

However, just as he was about to say something, he was stopped by Colonel Connor who said, “Hold on, keep watching and pay attention to Rein’s condition. He isn’t panicking, doesn’t look like he’s about to lose!”

Hamilton paused, perplexed, and upon closer observation as his friend Connor had suggested, he noticed that Rein was entirely too calm, not seeming forced at all.

So, he decided to continue watching.

Rein thought silently and subtly added an attribute point to agility. The opponent’s speed was a bit too fast, and at the moment, he still didn’t want to reveal his transcendent characteristic ‘Iron Skin’; thus, he needed to keep up with the opponent’s attack rhythm as much as possible.

Thus, Rein’s agility attribute instantly rose from 14 to 15 points, and simultaneously, his fatigue vanished, returning him to peak condition!

Calavi slightly bent his knees and, swinging his dual swords, attacked Rein again, his speed even faster than before.

Facing this strike from Calavi, Rein decided to test his knight transcendent characteristic ‘Huge Strength lv1’.

Suddenly, Rein’s muscles swelled slightly.

Seeing this, a smirk appeared under Calavi’s helmeted face. Still too young and inexperienced! Using the transcendent characteristic ‘Huge Strength’ so quickly. But what use is huge strength if you can’t hit your target!

Just as he planned to quickly move behind Rein to attack, Rein’s whole body suddenly performed a Whirlwind Slash, the speed unexpectedly fast!

This forced Calavi to choose to meet Rein’s ‘Huge Strength lv1’-boosted Whirlwind Slash head-on!

“Clang!!”

Calavi’s swords crossed, forcefully withstanding this mighty blow from Rein.

He had obviously also activated a limit break, his body under the armor had also swollen slightly.

However, since his Knight Breathing Method was not based on strength, even as a seasoned knight, he still couldn’t gain the upper hand in a direct clash with Rein.

At this moment, Rein glanced at the change in his own data; his strength had gone from 15 points to 19.5, clearly an effect of the transcendent characteristic ‘Huge Strength lv1’.

Strength had increased by thirty percent, but that was far from the growth brought about by Strength Burst.

It was unclear whether the effects were cumulative, but this was the perfect opportunity to test it.

Rein activated ten percent of his Strength Burst and watched as his strength attribute jumped again, reaching 21 points.

With 21 points in strength, Caravel’s hands began to tremble, and the Glimmering Greatsword pressed down harder, approaching Caravel’s knightly helm. Clearly, Rein’s level of strength was becoming too much for him to withstand.

“Ha!” Rein increased the degree of his Strength Burst once more!

This time, Caravel could no longer resist. He was knocked back as if hit by a wild boar, hurtling towards the training ground’s wall with even greater speed than before.

Along the way, everything from archery targets to wooden chairs and sword racks were smashed to smithereens, until finally, with a loud ‘bang,’ he crashed into the wall!

From the point of impact, the wall displayed circular ripples and a significant dent.

Fortunately, the wall was of good quality; otherwise, Caravel would have certainly broken through it!

On the ground, one could still see two clear trenches, not very deep but noticeably distinct, precisely where Caravel’s feet had dragged.

“Impressive! Rein must have officially become a knight!”

“Rein previously claimed he wasn’t a knight, but now it seems he clearly is one! I mean, how else could he have remained so calm against that Black Flame priest?” Matteo suddenly realized something and exclaimed in revelation.

“Yes! Yes! No wonder Rein could take on six mercenaries alone; he must have already been a knight at that time.”

“That ability to expand his muscles must be a knight’s special ability, right? Truly fierce!” another Night Watchman chimed in.

“….”

This made Gordon twitch the corner of his mouth, his expression sour. In his view, cleaning up that ‘lucky fellow’ should have been an easy feat.

But now, things had turned into such a ‘complicated mess,’ which annoyed Gordon to no end. He shouted from the side, “Caravel, stop playing around!”

This caused the previously excited and joyful Night Watchmen to exchange glances, wondering if it was really all still under control.

What happened next left them dumbfounded!

They saw Caravel slowly extricate himself from the wall.

He twisted his neck, producing no creaking sound, but rather the friction noise between the plate mail helmet and the chest armor, which further proved the ‘tin can’s’ defensive power.

As for Rein, facing such a resilient opponent like Caravel sparked not fear but a thrill within him.

Having just advanced to a knight, he found it perfect to test his combat strength against an opponent.

“Swish!”

Suddenly, Caravel’s form sped up significantly, bringing him within a few meters in front of Rein in a flash.

At this point, the onlooking Night Watchmen could no longer see clear details of Caravel’s attacks.

“Transcendent attribute, agility?” Rein couldn’t help but look solemn. At this moment, Caravel’s speed had nearly reached the limits of what the naked eye could detect.

In that case, there was no choice but to use this move!

Rein’s chest suddenly swelled, his knight chest armor nearly bursting, and the muscles and veins in his neck expanded noticeably.

“Ha!!!”

A deafening roar erupted right next to Caravel’s ear!

In an instant, Caravel’s entire form froze momentarily.

Taking advantage of that brief pause, Rein executed a Furious Slash, sending his opponent flying once more with a combination of Transcendent attribute ‘Huge Strength’ and fifty percent ‘Strength Burst.’

This combined strike utterly dazed Caravel!

Due to the immense power of the attack, it almost completely tore off his chest armor.

“Bang!”

Like a cannonball, Caravel was sent back to the same wall indentation, but this time, the already damaged wall could no longer withstand the impact.

Thus, Caravel broke through the wall, flying out into the street!

Everyone in the training ground watched this scene, dumbfounded.

This….

The situation had reversed too quickly!

Most people hadn’t even caught up.

“Cough… It seems Rein has won. Young Master Gordon, can the farce end now?” Colonel Connor coughed at this moment, addressing Gordon.

At this point, Gordon’s face flushed red with embarrassment at Connor’s words, unable to utter a single word, and could only ‘hmmph’ heavily before turning away.

Meanwhile, the Night Watchmen immediately began cheering, “Well done, Rein!”

“Rein, should we refer to you as Sir Knight now?”

“…..”

Just then, Hamilton, who had also been in shock, seemed to think of something important, suddenly turning to Rein with a serious tone:

“Rein, there’s something very important you might need to start preparing for.”
