Chapter 2711: Chapter 2712: Sea of Void Mirror

Regarding whether to intervene, Adanis and Olao did not reach a consensus.

In the end, Olao, as always, used a tolerant tone and said, ”You should think more about it; relying solely on Naraku is not a solution.”

After speaking, Olao vanished into the darkness.

Adanis remained standing in place, expressionless, looking at where the playful You Nu had previously appeared, seemingly waiting for You Nu’s main body to arrive, but in reality, her heart was full of suspicion.

She and Olao had always had differences on the issue of stopping the descendants of Noah. Adanis did not want their arrival to change her current life; whereas Olao welcomed it.

Even with their differences, these were basically internal, a tacit understanding: I know your position, you know mine, and mentioning it sparingly is a form of respect.

This tacit understanding lasted a long time. The last time Noah’s descendants arrived, Olao acted the same way. Although Adanis made some blocking gestures, Olao never intervened, only occasionally signaling her with his eyes: don’t go too far.

But this time, it was a bit strange.

Olao actually took the initiative to stop her?

Moreover, when Adanis played dumb, Olao didn’t brush it off as usual but instead indirectly pointed out her actions in a gentle tone.

Even though Olao’s tone wasn’t harsh, nor did he forcibly insist Adanis follow his opinion, it remained as mild and accommodating as ever. However, Adanis knew Olao too well, just as Olao knew her.

This time, Olao appeared to be negotiating, but in reality, he had his own plans.

He might even intervene.

Not long ago, Olao told Adanis that whatever she did, he would support it. But now, Olao clearly seemed off. This sudden change caught Adanis off guard, filling her with doubt.

Why did Olao suddenly change his mind in less than half a day?

Adanis had always monitored the situation of the residual place, and she knew clearly that Olao hadn’t left or entered the Mirror World.

For such a significant change in thought within half a day, there had to be more to it.

What on earth happened?

Adanis crossed her arms, her alabaster fingers rhythmically tapping on her arm, her eyes half-closed, the eyes like a mirror behind her eyelids constantly transforming various scenes.

These scenes were all related to the residual place.

Inside the residual place, there were numerous mirrors, and each mirror could become Adanis’ eyes, reflecting images that she could recall in a short time.

The images continuously appeared and then shattered like ice, breaking into countless patterns.

The ever-changing images presented the situation of the residual place today. After watching these images, Adanis looked even more puzzled.

Olao was just like always, with no change. Besides wandering around in the residual place, he came to spy on her, not showing any unusual expressions, maintaining his usual demeanor.

This was clearly not right, Olao’s unusual behavior had to have a reason.

While Adanis was pondering, a faint light suddenly shone through the darkness ahead.

The light grew brighter, and after a while, a familiar round mirror appeared right in front of Adanis.

Inside the mirror was also a familiar dark vortex, only compared to the previously abyss-like black vortex, this one was slightly hazy, and in the center of the vortex, a vague figure could be seen.

Without a doubt, You Nu’s main body had arrived.

From the detailed contours of that figure, it seemed to be the tender hearted You Nu.

Once the tender hearted You Nu appeared, unlike the playful You Nu that was loud, it stood quietly in the void and restrained the faint light of the mirror, so it wouldn’t be too dazzling.

—Because the tender hearted You Nu noticed Adanis was deep in thought, it tried to minimize any actions and behaviors that might disturb her.

This kind of keen insight was something the playful You Nu couldn’t match.

Of course, Adanis also noticed the tender hearted You Nu, and as she was about to greet it, she suddenly froze.

Gazing at the suspended mirror ahead, images flashed rapidly through Adanis’ mind.

She had overlooked something before; all unusual behavior actually started after Olao appeared. In the past, he might occasionally hear her conversing with You Nu and others, secretly watching and eavesdropping, but he never came out of hiding.

This time, however, Olao proactively came out from the shadows. The strangeness began at this point.

According to this timeline for retroactive reasoning, some previously fog-shrouded information seemed to become clear.

Olao rarely actively contacted the outside world, and with his talent, even the Wise Sovereign’s memory of him had gradually blurred.

Since Olao didn’t contact the outside world, his mindset naturally maintained a stable long-term existence, rarely changing on a whim. What prompted his change must have been something he hadn’t previously encountered.

Reviewing the recollections from the mirrors, Olao seemed no different from before today and didn’t encounter anything unusual.

The only possibly new element he contacted was the external scenes replayed through the mirrors by the playful You Nu.

In the replayed scenes, only two characters appeared. One was a Space Apprentice, and the other used Shapeshifting Technique, hiding their identity like an Official Wizard.

Could it be that Olao discovered something from these two individuals, prompting him to change his mind and actively dissuade her?

Yet these two clearly weren’t Noah’s descendants; they didn’t carry any of Noah’s blood aura.

Adanis hadn’t paid much attention to those two before, but now, since Olao seemed to have discovered something about them, she needed to pay attention as well...especially the elusive wizard.

In the mirror replays, the Space Apprentice was almost transparent with no peculiar traits. However, the wizard using Shapeshifting Technique was hard to pin down in terms of affiliation; even with the mirror replaying all the energy, pheromones, and fluctuations on him, Adanis couldn’t determine if he was a Space Mage or an Illusionist Wizard.

The ability of Mirror Space is typically something only Ice Wizards from the Water System of the natural side and Space Mages from the Mysterious Side could master.

The wizard didn’t possess the typical field of an Ice Wizard, so he most likely belonged to the Space Series. However, his Illusion Series capabilities were also strange, constantly enveloping him.

Can an Illusionist Wizard grasp the ability of Mirror Space? Hard to say.

In the wizarding world, what matters is foundation and experience, along with wisdom and time. As long as you have enough time, cross-disciplinary cultivation isn’t impossible to achieve at the peak.

Thus, merely from the opponent’s ability to easily seal the mirror, it’s hard to infer his exact discipline.

But Adanis was naturally suspicious of someone so secretive because she herself was a Mirror Bearer.

She knew well that those who keep things hidden definitely have unspeakable intentions. Especially here, in an underground aqueduct, a virtually deserted ruin, to wrap oneself up so tightly, who would believe there’s no issue?

Adanis intensely suspected, could it be that Olao discovered something from this person?

Could it be that he actually concealed his bloodline, and he is also a member of the Noah Clan? But, there is clearly still the scent of Noah’s bloodline outside; if he is also from the Noah Clan, why would he hide his identity?

In Adanis’ mind, in a very short time, a grand drama played out. Family rivalry, sibling conflict, disputes of legitimacy, hidden revenge...

Adanis didn’t care whether her imagination was right or wrong; anyhow, this person who hid their true nature and revealed so little had gradually risen in importance in her heart.

Anyone who could make Olao change his mind was certainly not ordinary... they must be restrained!

The last thing Adanis wanted to see was change. That person’s appearance had already caused Olao to begin having strange thoughts; in her view, this was absolutely not allowed.

With this in mind, Adanis finally raised her head and looked toward You Nu, the Motherly One.

”You should already know what Child’s Heart went to investigate, right?”

You Nu, the Motherly One, nodded: ”As long as it returns to me, our memories are shared.”

Adanis: ”It’s good that you know, we’ll talk about the rest later. Right now, I need you to do something.”

The illusory figure in the mirror lowered its head: ”Your wish is my mission.”

”I want you to obstruct them for me.” After pausing for a moment, Adanis gently waved her hand, and a mirror appeared, showing the figure of that elusive Wizard: ”Especially this person, and the descendants of Noah, make them the priority, they must not reach the legacy site. Do you understand?”

You Nu, the Motherly One, half-knelt: ”I will comply with Your Grace’s instructions.”

After pausing, You Nu, the Motherly One gently asked, ”Your Grace, what needs to be done after blocking them?”

Adanis: ”All intercepted people should be thrown into the Sea of Void Mirror. Only when all their memories are washed away by the Sea of Emptiness can they be allowed to leave.”

You Nu, the Motherly One, nodded: ”I understand.”

The Sea of Void Mirror, in the world within the mirror, is a ”sea” that floats in the void. Though it is called a sea, there is no water within. There exists only one thing: reflections.

These reflections all come from reality, and as long as there is a place in reality that can become a mirror image, even if it’s just the reflection in a puddle, it will be poured into this Sea of Void Mirror.

In the Sea of Void Mirror, you will see countless reflective images, some from ten thousand years ago, or even earlier.

It seems that going to the Sea of Void Mirror isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Indeed, as long as you can ward off the omnipresent ”tides” of the Sea of Void Mirror, it is an excellent place to observe the vast worlds.

However, the ”tides” of the Sea of Void Mirror appear every year, every month, every hour, every minute.

The ”sea surface” of the Sea of Void Mirror is never calm. Once washed by these mysterious tides, not only will the reflections in the Sea of Void Mirror vanish entirely, but the memories of living people will also be washed away with them.

The memories that are washed away will sink into the Sea of Void Mirror. If your luck is incredibly good, maybe you can find them, but almost all memories will eventually turn into foam from the tides and ultimately disappear completely.

This is a self-cleaning mechanism of the Mirror World; too many reflections would cause congestion.

The Mirror World is very special, constructed in time through constant fragmentation and rebirth, so it is not as sturdy as imagined. Places that can survive for long are very few, and congested reflections would only compress the living environment of the creatures within the mirror.

Even if the tides of the Sea of Void Mirror don’t clean out the reflections, the creatures within the mirror would proactively do so.

Therefore, once a living being falls into the Sea of Void Mirror, other than special mirror creatures, other beings would gradually become empty-hearted shells with no memories.

Fortunately, the Sea of Void Mirror only washes away memories, not your ability to learn. As long as you are willing, there are ways to start over in the real world as an empty-hearted person... but whether you are still yourself by then, well, that’s a philosophical question.

If a Noah descendant fails the test, banishing them to the Sea of Void Mirror has always been a tacit understanding between Adanis and Olao.

In this way, the Noah issue can be resolved without killing Noah.

But this time, perhaps due to Olao’s unusual behavior, Adanis felt a bit uneasy.

She pondered for a moment and gave You Nu, the Motherly One, a second command: ”If they resist fiercely, I permit you to kill them directly.”

You Nu, the Motherly One, was slightly stunned; she had received execution orders before, but Adanis never issued a kill order concerning Noah’s descendants. This time, she actually made an exception?

Despite finding this strange, as the most loyal subordinate of Adanis, she neither questioned nor refuted, nodding: ”As you command.”

”Alright, go now.” Adanis didn’t say more and waved her hand to You Nu, the Motherly One.

Just as You Nu, the Motherly One was about to withdraw, Adanis seemed to think of something and called her back: ”Wait a moment!”

The fading mirror regained its luster, and the graceful silhouette of You Nu, the Motherly One, reappeared in the mirror.

”Does Your Grace have other instructions?”

Adanis: ”This time, don’t let Child’s Heart You Nu go. You should go in person, or... go with Girl’s Heart You Nu together.”

Upon hearing Adanis’ orders, You Nu, the Motherly One, hesitated slightly: ”I have already assigned the work of the Wise Sovereign to Child’s Heart You Nu. But currently, Girl’s Heart You Nu is accompanying Little treasure, perhaps...”

You Nu, the Motherly One, paused: ”Can I take Big treasure and Second treasure with me instead?”

Adanis snorted: ”Big treasure, Second treasure. They’ve been enchanted with The Sage’s sweet talk, they might not give their all. If you go with them, they might even become a burden for you.”

You Nu, the Motherly One: ”They won’t, Big treasure and Second treasure are very obedient.”

Adanis took a deep breath, too lazy to argue with You Nu about this topic. Indeed, Big treasure and Second treasure listen to You Nu, the Motherly One, but they don’t listen to her.

And although You Nu, the Motherly One, listens to her, being called ”Motherly One” isn’t for nothing.

She could care less about others’ life or death, but when it comes to her three children, she is completely doting.

This kind of doting could even override Adanis’ orders.

This creates a loop, or rather, a strange balance with The Sage Sovereign. Adanis can command You Nu, the Motherly One, but she doesn’t want to command Big treasure, Second treasure, Little treasure, and those three kids, although they listen to You Nu, the Motherly One, they are closer to The Sage Sovereign.

This balance has lasted for years. In the past, The Sage Sovereign and she were on the same side, so Big treasure, Second treasure, Little treasure also listened to her. But this time, The Sage Sovereign had clearly started testing the waters; controlling Big treasure and Second treasure might not be possible.

To prevent Big treasure and Second treasure from backfiring on You Nu, the Motherly One, Adanis said: ”You can let Big treasure and Second treasure go on the attack, but you cannot go with them; you must guard their inevitable path and not slacken.”

”Or, just don’t let them go together. You go alone.”

”I understand.”
