Chapter 2570: Chapter 2571: Shared Perception

Angel walked towards the platform, with the slab representing the Black Earl floating beside him.

As he walked, Angel shared some of his conjectures with the Black Earl. The Black Earl agreed, given that this place is so close to the deep magical energy array of the Underground Labyrinth, the original intent of the builders was definitely not simple.

This underground building must contain secrets, but it’s unknown if they still remain or if they’ve been decayed by time.

...

The platform wasn’t large, only about ten meters in length and width. In the center of the floor at the front, there was a depression. Judging by its shape, it seemed that there once was a platform with a slender column here.

This is also very much a church-like decoration.

The church’s platform, usually called a ”lectern,” would have religious texts blessed by a Deity placed on top. The preacher would leaf through the texts while explaining doctrines to the believers.

And the church lectern was a single-column platform.

This seemed to once again prove that this was once a stage for a preacher to perform their teachings.

But as time passed, the platform had disappeared, leaving only a hollow.

And Dox was squatting in front of this hollow, seemingly observing something. Now and then, he would stretch out his finger, touch the inside of the hollow, and then lick it.

”Does it taste good?” Angel asked teasingly.

Dox rolled his eyes at Angel: ”Whether it’s good or not, you’ll only know if you taste it yourself.”

Of course, Angel wouldn’t do such a thing, and he had already probed it with his spiritual power. There were no mechanisms, no patterns, and no transcendent traces in the hollow. There was only some dust, and he wasn’t interested in gnawing on dirt.

”Did you find anything? Does this hollow remind you of something?” Angel asked.

Dox mused: ”I’m not sure if it’s a discovery, but did you notice the tiny black spot at the bottom of this hollow?”

Angel nodded: ”Isn’t that just a stain?”

Dox nodded: ”It is a stain, but not an ordinary one. It has some magical blood mixed in.”

”Magical blood? Are you sure?” Angel extended his spiritual power for a comprehensive observation again, but still didn’t sense any magical blood fluctuations.

”I wasn’t too sure before, but when I tasted it earlier, my bloodline had a very subtle reaction, which happens when encountering other magical blood.” Dox paused: ”Otherwise, why do you think I’d lick this for no reason?”

Although Dox gave a definite answer, Angel was still somewhat skeptical. He turned to look at the Black Earl, who had the most sensitive nose, wondering if he could sniff out something.

Without Angel needing to ask, the Black Earl was already sniffing. However, even just a few meters away from the hollow, he couldn’t detect any bloody scent.

There was no other way; the Black Earl had to maneuver the slab closer to the hollow.

Getting closer and closer, until the Black Earl nearly put his nose into the hollow, he finally faintly smelled something unusual.

”There is indeed something odd about the smell, but whether it’s magical blood, I don’t know. However, there was once transcendent fluctuation,” the Black Earl concluded, floating up and giving Dox an odd look: ”How did you discover it?”

”The hollow on the platform is the most suspicious, so I had to take a closer look. Sure enough, after careful observation, I found something unusual.” Dox said, rather proudly.

Angel and the Black Earl’s nostrils met for a moment in silent acknowledgment.

The hollow on the platform was prominent, but not to the extent of being suspicious. Besides, this was a lectern platform; having a stand is quite normal. Regarding the hollow’s condition, a quick sweep with spiritual power would suffice, yet Dox was squatting there studying it for half a day.

This isn’t normal behavior, right?

His inspiration must still be guiding him subconsciously.

In his heart, Angel sighed, ”What good fortune,” and then pretended to agree, ”Indeed, this hollow is the most suspicious. But even if we’ve discovered magical blood, it doesn’t seem to explain anything, right?”

”Or could it be that injecting blood into this hollow could cause a change?”

Though Dox was the first to discover the remnants of magical blood from who knows how many years ago, he was just as puzzled as Angel about how to use this ”clue.”

After a moment of silence, Dox proposed, ”Why don’t we first determine the type of magical blood?”

”That’s a good idea, but unfortunately, I can’t sense any magical blood, so it’s up to you.” Angel looked at Dox.

Dox scratched his head, looking innocent: ”Though I am a Bloodline Wizard, my bloodline is quite pure, and I haven’t encountered many other bloodlines, so I can’t tell which type of magical blood this is.”

Despite Dox’s polished words, the core meaning was: I’m poor and lack experience.

The perception and determination of transcendent blood by Bloodline Wizards far surpasses those in other wizarding paths. Normally, Bloodline Wizards are cultivated by trying different bloodlines to see how well they integrate with their own. Dox hasn’t taken this step, which either means he’s lucky or... simply poor.

Too poor to have experienced much magical blood.

With Dox unable to determine, Angel could only look towards the Black Earl.

The Black Earl shook his head: ”I just sniffed out something strange, but not the scent of magical blood, so I can’t make a judgment either.”

Hearing the Black Earl say that, both Angel and Dox felt a bit disappointed.

However, the Black Earl, who had just been shaking his head, suddenly added: ”Although I can’t judge, I know a spell technique called ’Shared Perception.’ If Dox becomes the main subject, we can all sense his feelings. This should help us identify the type of magical blood, but it depends on whether Dox is willing or not.”

Dox’s first reaction to hearing ”Shared Perception” was to resist, even though he was just a Wandering Wizard, he still had secrets. If others sensed them, wouldn’t his trump cards be exposed?

Just as Dox was about to refuse, the Black Earl continued, ”As the subject, you can control the range of what we perceive, so there’s no need to worry about us perceiving other things.”

”Moreover, as an Official Wizard, especially a Bloodline Wizard, with the complex information within, particularly regarding bloodline information, it’s impossible for us to casually perceive it. If there are errors or extreme views, it could even impact our knowledge structure.”

Dox didn’t hear much of the rest, but did catch the key point: ”What do you mean by errors or extreme views? My knowledge base is solid, absolutely no errors.”

The Black Earl chuckled coldly: ”All knowledge is constantly being updated and iterated. No wizard would ever claim they are completely correct... you seem quite full of yourself.”

The Black Earl was undoubtedly right. Dox understood this as well but spoke too quickly earlier, causing a minor embarrassment.

”Don’t waste time. Do you want to use Shared Perception or not? If not, we’ll continue looking for other clues.”

The trail from the magical blood was unclear, and the Black Earl personally felt it might not be related to the secrets here, so he didn’t force Dox to use Shared Perception.

Dox considered for two seconds, then nodded: ”If I can truly control the range of perception, then I could give it a try.”

Black Earl: ”Since we’re going to try, get ready.”

Dox looked over in confusion: ”Get ready for what?”

The Black Earl replied irritably, ”Just like you did earlier, use your finger to dab a bit of the magical blood-tainted stain, then passionately suck on it.”

Dox: ”...” As if I passionately suck on it?

Feeling helpless but not daring to retort, Dox had to go along with the Black Earl’s instructions, re-dabbing the stain in the hollow.

Just as Dox was about to ”taste” the flavor on his fingertip, the Black Earl’s nose gently snorted, and a gentle moonbeam-like glow gradually enveloped them.

Dox had the brightest glow on him, while Angel and the Black Earl’s nose were covered in a faint glimmer. This indicated that Dox was the subject, while they were the perceivers.

After examining the control ability of the main subject for a bit, Dox finally raised his finger and put it in his mouth.

With a subtle movement of his bloodline within, the Shared Perception activated instantly.
