Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1612: Section 1613: The Nobility of Fire

“Sudor? Are you the Pale Witch?”

Snow Raven nodded: “Itʼs an honor to be recognized by Lord Chaowei.”

Angel: “Witch Sudor is my senior, just call me by my name.”

Angel had naturally heard of the Pale Witchʼs name.

She also came from the Frost Moon Alliance, and although her strength was only at Level 1 Wizard, she was a core member of the Frost Moon Alliance. As for why, it was difficult for outsiders to know, but her reputation had already been spread by outsiders.

“Since this is your request, then Iʼll call you by your name. Just donʼt get angry,” Snow Raven winked at Angel.

Angel smiled indifferently.

Greya suddenly asked, “Why are you here? Is it for Angel?”

Greyaʼs words made Angel also canʼt help but gaze at Snow Raven. He and the Frost Moon Alliance didnʼt seem to have any gap on the surface, but since he had managed to survive the Abyss and return to the Wizardsʼ Realm, the high-level members of the Frost Moon Alliance were all suspicious.

And Witch Sudor was also a core of Frostmoon, and her presence here was highly likely for Angel.

For a moment, the atmosphere became somewhat tense.

Snow Raven… or rather Quini, shook her head: “I didnʼt come for Angel this time, besides, Lord Monty has already gone to the Ice Valley to confirm that the previously widespread rumors are true, so thereʼs no need to be so tense.”

“Although Lord Monty has confirmed the truth, if you had not advanced to become a member of the Research and Development Institute, maybe he would still resort to force…” But now Angelʼs identity, even ordinary Transcendents know, he has definitely become a core strategic figure of the Barbarian Cave, Montyʼs plan this time did not succeed, hope of advancing to Legend is out of reach, and he is still on the same level as Rhein. So, he couldnʼt possibly risk offending Rhein to deal with Angel.

Quini seemed to not care at all about her own identity, directly revealing the key points of the situation.

Some words, even someone at Rheinʼs level would think twice before speaking, but Quini didnʼt care at all and remained outspoken, causing Angel to feel somewhat shocked and fearful.

“Though I did not specifically come for you, someone from the Frost Moon Alliance will likely come for you, maybe itʼs Sinafa, or perhaps Samantha,” Quini paused, “However, their coming for you probably isnʼt to confront you, but rather to invite you to the headquarters of the Frost Moon Alliance… After all, Lord Monty publicly promised to give you the Frost Moonʼs highest reward–the Frost Essence and Moon Chapter.”

“You wouldnʼt refuse it, would you?”

Angel did not reply, these matters were for later, and he could not yet give an answer. However, Snow Ravenʼs attitude made it clear she did not come for Angel.

“Since you arenʼt here for Angel, why did you come to watch the New Star Tournament?” Greya asked suspiciously.

The puppet behind Quini suddenly moved, stretching out a finger pointing to the arena. Quini also said, “Didnʼt I say just now, Trom is from the Frost Moon Alliance, canʼt you make the connection?”

Greya: “Trom is related to you?”

Quini nodded: “Thatʼs right, Trom is my adorable Disciple~”

Somehow, when Quini said “adorable,” Angel felt a chill and couldnʼt help but shiver.

Greya turned her head to look at Trom who was engaged in fierce combat in the arena, feeling somewhat sympathetic: “Poor kid.”

Greya knew Quiniʼs character all too well; she was a woman full of dark humor, and her so-called concern always came with traps.

“Poor? I think itʼs fine. Under my guidance, isnʼt he performing quite well now?” Quini seemed rather proud.

Greya shook her head and sighed: “Now I understand why Tromʼs physique is so strong. If it werenʼt strong, how could he endure your torments.”

“Thank you for the compliment.”

Greya: “…I wasnʼt complimenting you.”

“Iʼll take it as a compliment anyway,” Quini said nonchalantly. Then she got up from her cane and floated to the middle of Greya and Angelʼs seat, her eyes fixed on the arena: “Itʼs a pity that my adorable Disciple has come across a Gourmet Sorcerer as his opponent this time, otherwise it would have been much more interesting.”

“Do you look down on Gourmet Sorcerers?”

“Of course I respect Gourmet Sorcerers, itʼs just that their combat strength…”

Greya knew Quini was blunt and didnʼt take offense: “If it were any other Gourmet Sorcerer Apprentice, Trom might indeed win easily, but with Asaz, itʼs not necessarily the case.”

Although Greya had already developed a killing intent towards Asaz, objectively speaking, if Asaz used Demonic Power, Trom might not be able to withstand it.

Quini: “There are Gourmet Sorcerers who are strong in combat? I donʼt believe it.”

As soon as Quini finished speaking, the surrounding audience all gasped in disbelief, showing expressions of incredible astonishment.

Quini turned her head to look at the arena, only to see that Trom was, at this moment, completely flipped over the edge of the ring, his antler on his head hooking onto the edge of the platform, preventing his feet from touching the ground.

Even so, the judges suspended high in the air have started whispering amongst themselves. The current situation was unprecedented in the New Stars tournament, and they were deliberating whether to count Tromʼs loss or not.

Quiniʼs eyes widened: “Eh, what just happened?”

It seemed like Quini was astonished about something that had happened before, but Angel heard a hint of delight mixed with Quiniʼs surprise.

Her own disciple was about to lose, what was there to feel happy about?

“Asaz found an opportunity and used a Gourmet Sorcererʼs trick, ʼStink Bombʼ, catching Trom off guard. Although the ʼStink Bombʼ only lasted for a moment, in the instant Trom lost control, he, borrowing Demonic Power in his right hand, sent Trom flying with a single punch,” Greyaʼs eyes shone with a shadowy light. Though she was addressing Quiniʼs question, the aura leaked when Asaz unleashed the Demonic Power was of keen interest to her.

That aura didnʼt feel like that of an ordinary low-level demon.

What kind of demon had Asaz offered sacrifices to?

Angel was also lost in thought. He, too, had sensed the aura within the Demonic Power, feeling a sense of deja vu with this strength?

“Demonic Power?” Quini turned her head back, “How did a Gourmet Sorcerer acquire Demonic Power?”

Very few people in the Southern Domain knew about offering sacrifices to demons. Obviously, Quini was also unaware of the details.

“Exchanged with Gourmet arts,” Greya vaguely replied, without revealing the specifics.

“Similar to Sinistraʼs power?” Sinistraʼs power was inherited from a Gourmet who could summon heroic spirits with delectable dishes.

Greya nodded her head.

Quini suddenly realized: “I see, with such power existing, no wonder you hold this Devil Gourmet in such high esteem.”

While they were talking, after some discussion, the judges did not indicate the end of the match, meaning Trom could continue his battle against Asaz.

The audience also breathed a sigh of relief. It had been difficult to witness such an intense semi-final. If it had ended just like that, it would inevitably be regrettable.

Trom finally climbed back up from the edge of the platform.

When everyone looked towards Trom, horror flashed across their eyes.

They saw that Tromʼs clothes were completely torn apart, exposing the skin underneath. At this moment, on Tromʼs chest, there was a terrifying injury, an inward punched imprint. Most importantly, next to the punched imprint, there was a black and red burn from black flames.

The black, ferocious, and fearsome burn wound, against Tromʼs originally pale skin, was shockingly vivid.

“This flame contains Demonic Power. Could it be that the demon Asaz sacrificed to is a flame-controlling demon?” Greya muttered in a low voice, “There are many Flame Demons. Which one could it be?”

“Flame Servant? Arson Demon? Or perhaps the Fire Transmission Demon? A mature Fire Transmission Demon is an Intermediate Rank demon, with True Knowledge Level strength, would it be summoned by mortal wizards?” Greya mused with doubts.

At this moment, Angel suddenly said: “Itʼs a Pattern Demon.”

A Pattern Demon? Greya sharply turned her head: “Are you sure?”

Angel nodded: “I know a Pattern Demon, but itʼs still in its juvenile phase, only a Juvenile Flame Demon. However, the aura of its flame power is exactly the same.”

Angel didnʼt say he “had seen” a Pattern Demon, but rather that he “knew” a Pattern Demon, and both Quini and Greya noticed this detail. However, at this moment, Greya did not question further but murmured to herself: “How is it possible for a Pattern Demon to become an offering to a Gourmet Sorcererʼs Apprentice?”

The Fire Transmission Demon she had previously negated was generally known as the “Bearer of Flames”.

But a Pattern Demon in the Abyss is referred to as the “Nobility of Flames.”

Indeed, a Pattern Demon is the nobility among flame-controlling demons, and not only among Flame Demons but also among all demons, they are considered the noble class.

After all, there had once been a Pattern Lord in the upper layers of the Abyss.

How could such a noble demon end up being a sacrificial offering to a Gourmet Sorcerer? Greya was somewhat incredulous.

But it was impossible for Angel to lie.

What exactly was the problem here?
