Chapter 3300: Chapter 3301: Henado

The end of the dark corridor flashed with white light.

As the white light completely replaced the darkness, Nahuat had already left the cramped hallway and appeared in the office of Everything House.

People came and went around him; apart from those submitting requests, most were investigators wearing trench coats.

Nahuat scanned the room. Although no one was openly staring at him, he could vaguely sense many secretive glances directed at him... or rather, at the contract in his hand.

Nahuat squeezed the parchment of the contract and continued to walk forward.

After taking a few steps, a shadow blocked his path.

Nahuat instinctively took a defensive stance, but he quickly realized he was in the office area. No one dared to make a move against him in Everything House’s domain.

He relaxed his stance and looked at the shadow before him.

The shadow continuously condensed at a rapid pace, eventually transforming into a stick figure made of shadow.

Seeing the matchstick-like human form, Nahuat sighed in relief: ”What brings you here?”

Nahuat’s tone was unusually relaxed and affectionate because the visitor was one of the few trusted confidants he had, his younger brother, Black Nado.

”Miss Yatesin went to meet Lord Jasmine, and Lord Nuo Nuo has also been called away. Currently, there are hardly any high-level personnel at the Changhuo Clan’s base. To prevent any accidents, Miss Yatesin sent me to meet you.”

Nahuat nodded, roughly understanding the situation.

The Changhuo Clan is now a target, watched by various clans; if they had strong figures to deter them, no one would dare provoke them. But now with Nahuat, Yatesin, Nuo Nuo, and Lord You Te absent, there’s no deterrent force, and if any minor issue arises at the base, it might be blown out of proportion.

Even with the guards from the Crystal Eye Clan, they might not be able to withstand those greedy looks.

Therefore, to prevent any accidents at their base, Yatesin instructed Black Nado to find Nahuat first.

With Nahuat protecting him, Black Nado would at least not cause trouble... precisely, trouble.

In Yatesin’s view, Black Nado is the type who easily has his emotions stirred and passively becomes the source of trouble, bringing trouble to the Changhuo Clan.

This is why Black Nado was specifically arranged.

Nahuat understood this point as well. Previously, Black Nado, when outside, almost caused an incident by staring at Angel’s cat ears with overly ”inappropriate” glances.

If it weren’t for Nahuat’s timely intervention, Black Nado would probably have been banished by Gutalace on the spot.

Now, with Black Nado arranged to be beside him, it was indeed a good thing.

Nahuat: ”I understand. You should enter my shadow first.”

Black Nado clearly hesitated at the thought of entering the shadow, but under Nahuat’s insistent gaze, he still pouted and melded into Nahuat’s shadow.

As Black Nado entered the shadow, Nahuat immediately felt a wave of ”complaining” emotion; this was the emotion shared through shadow resonance.

Nahuat wasn’t surprised by this.

Black Nado was still in his ”adolescent phase,” with weak shadow control abilities; once in the shadow, he could only passively receive the information transmitted to him, unable to convey information outward, which understandably displeased him.

Only when Black Nado enters a ”mature phase” and his form begins to resemble humans more, can he possess stronger shadow control abilities.

”Don’t complain too much. The looks directed at me are no less than those from Yatesin and Nuo Nuo. You are best protected in my shadow.” Nahuat transmitted the message to Black Nado.

Black Nado was silent for a moment before responding: ”...I understand.”

Once Nahuat confirmed that his brother had completely merged with the shadow, he continued forward, intending to go to Ghost Steward to attempt starting another commission.

Although Dog Deacon had softly implied earlier that it was difficult for him, given his current position, to handle a second commission... It’s always worth trying to know if it might work.

Black Nado: ”Where are you going now?”

Nahuat didn’t hold back and disclosed his destination.

Black Nado: ”Why commission a second time? Did Dog Deacon refuse to sign the contract?”

Nahuat: ”The contract has been signed; this aim for a second contract relates to another matter.”

Considering Black Nado couldn’t perceive external information, and Nahuat didn’t have much time for idle chat, he simply transmitted the entire process of his earlier visit to Dog House directly to Black Nado through ”thought sharing.”

Upon receiving a large amount of visual information, Black Nado naturally fell silent.

Nahuat then quickly stepped up to the office counter, seeking a direct investigator from Ghost Steward, hoping to meet Ghost Steward once more.

After roughly ten minutes, Nahuat finally found the door to enter Ghost Steward’s hall.

Upon entering, he was greeted by the familiar dark corridor.

As he walked forward, Nahuat began answering Black Nado’s questions.

By this time, Black Nado had already finished viewing all the visual information transmitted by Nahuat. After watching, he didn’t pay much attention to the verbal exchanges between Nahuat and Dog Deacon.

Instead, his attention was locked on two other individuals.

One was Angel.

The other was Sipolov.

The reason he focused on Angel was that earlier, outside, he had stared at Angel’s cat ears and almost caused trouble. Black Nado didn’t dare harbor resentment towards Gutalace, but instead held some grudges against Angel.

The information transmitted to Nahuat also inquired about Angel’s background.

In response to Black Nado’s inquiry, Nahuat calmly said: ”I don’t know who he is, but I know he’s human. If you want to cause trouble, I could send you to the world outside the Mirror later.”

While Nahuat was speaking in support, in truth, he had a rather favorable view of Angel. But he couldn’t directly express his sentiments to Black Nado due to his rebellious nature—often, the more one discourages him, the more he acts up.

Knowing Black Nado’s character well, Nahuat understood that the best way to dispel his brother’s troublesome thoughts was to set an insurmountable obstacle.

And traveling to the world outside the Mirror posed exactly such an obstacle for Black Nado.

Moreover, for ninety-nine percent of creatures within the Mirror Domain, the world outside posed an insurmountable challenge and peril. There’s no Aggregation Energy there, and once it’s depleted internally, one becomes a sitting duck.

Furthermore, once Extraordinary Life outside discovers Mirror Domain beings, they’ll make efforts to capture them.

Catching a Mirror Domain creature means obtaining a passage to enter the Mirror Domain; even if unstable, it promises immense rewards.

Black Nado has been aware of this since childhood, thus maintaining a respectful distance from the world outside.

Hearing Nahuat’s words caused his interest in Angel to diminish significantly.

Though he still muttered twice: ”I feel like those cat ears are strange.”

”Nothing strange, just a side effect of Evil Witch’s Eyes.” Nahuat said casually.

The aura left behind by Evil Witch’s Blessing Magic is fairly well-known within the Mirror Domain. Although the side effects vary for everyone receiving this blessing, the aura on them remains similar.

This means Angel, with cat ears in the Mirror Domain, merely attracts some attention, but isn’t regarded as a Mysterious Object.

However, if Angel returns to reality with cat ears, he’ll easily draw attention. After all, Evil Witch’s Eyes is only renowned in the Daylight Mirror Domain.

Black Nado: ”I know it’s a side effect of Evil Witch’s Eyes, but brother, you know my intuition... Those cat ears don’t seem ordinary.”

”You little rascal...” Nahuat sighed. Luckily Black Nado had already entered his shadow, otherwise he would certainly mess up his hair.

”Even if truly unusual, it would only be effective for a few days. Do you expect him to cooperate, fully utilizing the cat ears’ effect on you?” Nahuat: ”Even the best effect has nothing to do with you.”

Upon realizing Angel was human, Black Nado’s interest waned. Stirring trouble held no significance. Thus, Nahuat’s logic made sense to him.

From Black Nado’s perspective, Nahuat’s rationale indeed made sense. Short-term continuing effects hold no real consequence even if peculiar.

”Enough said about him.” Black Nado temporarily set aside thoughts concerning Angel, focusing entirely on another individual.

”I know the Yingji Clan member at Dog House earlier.”

Nahuat paused: ”Who is he? How do you know him?”

”His name is Sipolov...”

Black Nado briefly shared information about Sipolov.

After saying enough, Black Nado continued in a mysterious tone: ”I saw him previously at the Black Goat’s place. And he entered the Black Goat’s secret chamber.”
