Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1274: Section 1275: Going Mad

If that is indeed the case.

Eulica may have encountered a problem a long time ago!

The disaster involving Eulica left Angel deeply concerned, particularly the first image where Eulica stood, under which there was a pool of blood. Whose blood it was, he didn’t know, but the deep red color was strikingly glaring and gave Angel a profound sense of unease.

Therefore, right after accepting these images from Dororo, Angel rushed back to his bedroom without hesitation, then activated the Geometric Lock and entered the Wilderness of Dreams.

He needed to confirm something.

When Angel left the Old Earth Continent, as a precaution, he had given his brother Lyon a silver pocket watch. This pocket watch looked nothing out of the ordinary, just a timekeeping tool. Yet in fact, it was a hidden log-in device.

… A medium for logging into the Wilderness of Dreams.

However, unlike the log-in device given to Frode, this one had a limitation of only one use.

Angel’s explanation to Lyon was, “This is a special communicator, and my birthdate is the code to activate it.”

Angel made it clear that this “communicator” had a one-time use and told Lyon not to inform anybody. He could use it to make contact only when he faced an unsolvable problem or had an urgent matter to communicate with Angel.

If it was as Dororo had relayed, because of Eulica, Pat Manor might have encountered a crisis that Lyon couldn’t resolve, and he might attempt to use the communicator to contact Angel.

That was the actual reason for Angel’s hurried journey to the Wilderness of Dreams.

As soon as he entered the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel immediately sensed through the “Gatekeeper” power that there were a few hundred more people in the Wilderness of Dreams, most of whom he believed Frode had brought from reality. However, whether Lyon was among them was hard to say.

Angel silently prayed in his heart, hoping that Lyon had not used the communicator—that would at least mean Pat Manor hadn’t encountered a crisis yet.

Upon entering the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel used his “Gate of Dreams” privilege to directly descend onto the top of the Sky Tower in Originheart City.

Looking down from the five-story tower, although Originheart City was not yet bustling, there were figures in the majority of the buildings, and the streets were lively.

It seemed that during his absence from the Wizards’ Realm to venture into the Abyss, there had been no significant changes in the Wilderness of Dreams. Originheart City looked even more orderly than before.

Angel didn’t immediately investigate the changes in Originheart City but instead started to search for Frode’s location.

Before Angel left for the Abyss, he worried that he might not be able to access the Wilderness of Dreams, so he informed Frode about the log-in device he left with Lyon.

If Lyon had indeed used the log-in device to come to Originheart City, then Frode would certainly be aware of the situation.

Soon, Angel locked onto Frode’s position.

Right beneath him, on the fifth floor of the Sky Tower!

Angel made a few leaps and directly vaulted from the top of the tower to the top floor. As he pushed open the door to the top floor, he immediately saw two people in the office inside.

One was Frode, who appeared unchanged, currently sitting at the desk with pen and paper, seemingly writing something. The other end of his desk was occupied by a beautifully dressed, elegant woman.

Angel was familiar with this woman. When he had fused with the “Gatekeeper” power, she was the only one in the entire Wilderness of Dreams who aligned with that power. If Angel wished, he could even grant her this authority.

She was Monroe, the City Lord of Originheart City, selected by Frode after many considerations!

Upon noticing the door being pushed open, Monroe’s eyebrows furrowed, ready to rebuke the intruder. However, when she saw that the person entering was Angel, her expression froze for a moment, as if recognizing his identity, she fell silent and bowed her head respectfully.

On the other side, Frode’s eyes immediately sparkled with light.

“My lord, have you returned from the Abyss?” Frode put down his pen in surprise and approached.

Angel nodded, acknowledging Frode’s question, then glanced at Monroe.

His gaze was calm, but Monroe felt a chill run down her spine. As a woman who was praised by Frode and emerged as the City Lord of Originheart City from among many candidates, she naturally had high emotional intelligence. Reading Angel’s gaze, she instantly understood his implication.

Monroe tried to keep her voice steady as she said, “Honored lord of the new world, and Master Tyson, there are some matters regarding the city defense that I must attend to. I will take my leave now.”

After speaking, Monroe bowed deeply, and with Frode’s nod of assent, she left.

Once the room was left with just the two of them, Angel immediately spoke of his concern.

“Has my brother Lyon been to the Wilderness of Dreams during this period?”

“Your lordship’s brother indeed visited Originheart City,” noted Frode, his expression turning grave as he sensed the urgency in Angel.

Really contacted? Angel hadn’t expected that the communicator he left just in case would actually be used by Lyon.

Upon learning of this situation, Angel’s heart immediately began to race.

“When did this happen, did he say what occurred?” Angel hastily asked.

“It should have been half a month ago. He suddenly appeared in Originheart City and was quickly spotted by the city defense team, who brought him over,” Frode recounted the event without reservation.

After listening to Frode’s account, Angel also came to understand the gist of it.

Lyon was initially skeptical of Frode, but after Frode used the explanation that this place was a special “dream world” and Jon also appeared, Lyon recalled the Dreamweaver Ants that Angel had recently created for Jon, which made Lyon lower his guard and reveal the purpose of his visit.

Indeed, as Angel had guessed, the matter Lyon spoke of was definitely related to Eulica.

Eulica had gone mad.

When Lyon spoke of this, his lips were trembling. Frode could see the terror in Lyon’s eyes.

What exactly had happened, Lyon did not elaborate, only saying, “Currently, Mentor Suise has restrained Eulica for the time being, but I can sense that the mentor might not be able to hold her back much longer.”

Lyon intended to warn Angel to avoid coming back, which was why he used the contact device.

After saying all this, Lyon stayed in Originheart City for a while, talked about recent events with Jon, and then returned to reality.

“Did he mention anything about Mentor Jon’s condition?” Angel immediately asked after listening to Frode’s narration.

Frode nodded, “He said he would take care of Mr. Jon’s body and asked you not to return for the time being.”

How could Angel possibly not go back, especially now that Eulica was in trouble, which could spread to everyone at Pat Manor? Even if Jon could be properly looked after, what about Lyon himself?

“Since I didn’t know when you’d return, I temporarily closed down the orphanage and employed people from the Ashen Time Trade Caravan to head towards Old Earth Continent after I learned about this matter,” Frode said.

“You’re still at sea now?” Angel calculated the time. If Frode had traveled by ship, he probably had not landed yet.

Frode nodded, “I will soon arrive at Old Earth Continent.”

“There’s no need for you to come over, go back to Revelation Continent,” Angel told Frode. “With your abilities, you can’t get involved in this. Even if the leader of the Ashen Time Trade Caravan, Biels himself, comes, it won’t be enough.”

Although Angel said so, he was genuinely moved by Frode’s decisive action to head for Old Earth Continent.

“You don’t need to worry about this matter. I’ve already returned to the Wizards’ Realm and will soon visit Old Earth Continent with the mentor. Leave this matter to me… As for you, focus on your own business for now, and take good care of Mentor Jon. Also, make sure the ‘Observations of Dream Wilderness’ you’re compiling is detailed. It won’t be long before the mentor will want to consult it,” Angel instructed.

“Are you referring to the Illusion Demon, my lord?”

Angel nodded, and amid Frode’s bewildered expression, he left the Wilderness of Dreams.

…

Sanders: “Is this the entire chain of events?”

Angel nodded, “It’s been half a month now, and I don’t know the situation inside Pat Manor. I never expected something to go wrong with Lady Eulica.”

Sanders pondered for a moment, “Since, your brother went to the Wilderness of Dreams, at least one thing is clear, the situation was under control back then. If it were controllable, your manor’s people, including the mentor you value most, should have been properly taken care of.”

Angel understood that if Lyon noticed anything amiss, he would likely be prepared to move them. But after all, Eulica is an Official Wizard, and even if they moved, how far could they go? With Eulica’s abilities, if she really wanted to catch up, it wouldn’t be impossible. Moreover, Lyon’s own safety was a concern.

Seeing the anxious look on Angel’s face, Sanders nodded, “Alright, let’s go immediately.”

Angel showed his gratitude, then returned to the hall with Sanders.

Before leaving, there was the issue of White Bear to resolve.

Earlier, he had asked Dororo about that White Bear doll, including whether or not to bring White Bear to see Eulica.

The scenes that had appeared in the end described Eulica’s transformation, seemingly unrelated to “choice.” It seemed incongruous at first glance, but on closer examination, there might be an internal connection.

Now, it was almost certain that Eulica was White Bear’s kin, and perhaps the White Bear doll was even crafted by her.

Now that Eulica had fallen into madness, although the cause of her psychosis was unknown, there surely had to be a way to resolve it. Dororo, through the White Bear doll, had seen those scenes; was it suggesting that the doll could be used to awaken her lost thoughts?

Angel didn’t know if his thoughts were correct, but it did not prevent him from making a choice.

With this in mind, Angel turned his gaze toward White Bear, who looked back at him with a puzzled expression.
