Warhammer Divine Throne

”What???”

Laine suddenly looked up, seeing the Lake Fairy with a faint smile in her eyes appearing before him. His conversation partner, Amelia, seemed startled by the presence of the Lake Fairy, hiding behind a piece of furniture with tearful eyes, trembling all over.

”My Lady, this is a misunderstanding. I thought it was Amelia who was welcoming me.” Laine immediately knelt on one knee and quickly defended himself, ”I didn’t know of your arrival.”

”Now you know.” The Lake Fairy was well aware Laine had mistaken her for someone else, but the goddess didn’t mind. She signaled for Amelia to come out from behind the furniture, ”Come out, maid. I will not harm you.”

”Greetings, Your Excellency, Lady of the Lake!” Only then did Amelia cautiously emerge from behind the furniture, the little maid delicately grasping her skirt, performing a respectful bow.

Oh my god, I’ve seen a true deity appear before me today!

The Lake Fairy was dressed in a classic, elegant white pear-blossom gown, crowned with flowers. Her incomparably beautiful face always carried a slight smile, and her bare delicate feet hovered above the ground. The Holy Grail, coveted by countless knights, was held in her hands. She gestured for Laine to stand up, ”I told you; I would visit often.”

”Uh... welcome, my Lady.” Thus, Laine stood up.

”I’ve toured your new home, and I find it nice. Besides the good scenery and environment, I feel warmth in this house. A warm home allows a knight to fight more bravely on the battlefield.” The Lake Fairy nodded, ”Let’s go upstairs and discuss; I have something to tell you.”

”Yes!” Laine guided the Lake Fairy to the adjacent guest room.

The Lake Fairy sat unceremoniously on a single-seater sofa. The goddess motioned for Laine to sit down. The faint smile on her face disappeared, turning into a serious expression, ”Laine Macado?”

”Exactly!”

”Is that sword the legendary thirteenth Holy Sword—the Goddess of Revenge?” The expression on the Lake Fairy’s face was unreadable.

”Yes.” Laine had no need to lie. His answer was simple and straightforward, ”I don’t know if I’m the thirteenth Gallorin’s Knight, but this sword is without a doubt the Goddess of Revenge.”

The Lake Fairy’s expression subtly shifted as she murmured to herself, ”Only a gray horse can contend with a red horse... the thirteenth Gallorin’s Knight saving the world... the Goddess of Revenge appeared...”

After a long time, the Lake Fairy’s peerlessly beautiful face turned pale, ”Sure enough, my prophecy was not wrong.”

”My Lady?” Laine felt puzzled. He could see that the Lake Fairy had many things she wanted to tell him.

”Is the Holy Sword-Goddess of Revenge exclusively yours? Is this sword only driven by the pure Subspace Energy within you?” The Lake Fairy continued to ask.

”Precisely.” Laine nodded. Regarding this matter, the Lake Fairy had witnessed the battle with the Champion of Khorne, so there was no need to conceal it.

”Then it’s without doubt, Laine, your appearance not only means that there is one more outsider in this world but also indicates that this world is about to face another Moment of Destruction’s test.” The Lake Fairy shook her head repeatedly. The goddess spoke softly, ”The birth of the third Eternal Chaos Chosen implies that doomsday is near.”

The ethereal voice of the Lake Fairy recounted a piece of history: ”Chaos, immensely powerful yet unfathomable, filled with destructive force yet incessantly embroiled in internecine conflicts, Khorne, who worships war and blood, despises Slaanesh’s hedonism, while the cunning and changeable Tzeentch continuously clashes with the corrupt and conservative Nurgle. These four Evil Gods eternally battle within the Chaos Realm, with their attention rarely fixed on the outside. This allows those of us in the Prime Material World to struggle to survive.”

”The demons and followers under the four gods have clear stances. They would never tolerate fighting under the banner of another deity, and the only way to unite everyone is by rallying under an undisputed title, and that title is...”

Laine continued the Lake Fairy’s words, ”The Chaos Eternal God Chosen.”

”Yes.” The Lake Fairy gently nodded, ”Every few hundred years, a mortal champion is destined to receive the greatest blessings of the Chaos Four Gods. He is the Chaos Eternal God Chosen. The Northern Barbarian Tribes, engaged in endless internal strife, will gather again under his banner, and soon the end times will come. The Eternal God Chosen will rise from his dark throne, ready to destroy the world. Mortals will face either the turbulent armies of the North or the vermin emerging from below. We have no choice but to fight to the death, exhausting every last hope, to have a slim chance of survival.”

”My Lady, you don’t need to be so pessimistic. The world has experienced several Chaos Invasions, each time being stopped.” Laine could sense the pessimism in the Lake Fairy’s tone and thus attempted to console her, ”Every time, haven’t we successfully repelled the Chaos Army?”

”...I cannot foresee where the world will head, but each time, the world stands only a step away from annihilation.” The need for the Chaos Eternal God Chosen to unify all Barbarian Tribes requires a long time, so it seemed the Lake Fairy didn’t want to continue this topic. She shifted to another subject, ”You have defeated another Champion of Khorne; well done. Bit by bit, this is the only way we can weaken the God of Darkness. The Evil God’s gaze has observed you and the fight with the Champion of Khorne more than once. The mist of the potion of Holy Water succeeded in eluding the Evil God’s scrutiny, but you must still be cautious. You have already caught the attention of the Chaos Evil Gods; they will not let it go easily. The Chaos Champions you fight and kill all ascended from being devotees of the Evil Gods; a true Chaos Demon is far more powerful than that... interestingly, Tzeentch, who usually loves spying on the Prime Material World, remains the quietest. He seems to be very weak...”
