The dead body had been badly damaged, but the skin at the back still looked like it was in good condition. On top of that piece of skin, there were two little round holes which looked like they were nailed in. Di Fuyi turned over a few corpses, and every corpse had the same two holes on their backs.

Gu Xijiu checked the wound, and she wondered. “Were they bitten by some animal with sharp fangs? Why did the animals bite the same spot?”

Di Fuyi looked serious when he reponded, “It’s a Nail-Tooth Beast. This was the culprit that led to the destruction this place.”

Gu Xijiu thought that she had sufficient knowledge about the fierce beasts in this continent. However, it was the first time she heard about the “It can destroy the entire town… Is it one of the level eight beasts that came from the eighth peak?”

Di Fuyi shook his head. “This beast is not high in spiritual power. It is a level seven beast, but it is very fierce. It likes to consume human hearts. After it consumes the human’s heart, the soul of that person will be dissipated and can’t even reborn anymore. This beast is born by the hostility of the world. It used to reign in this continent 4,000 years ago but had been destroyed by my team and me. I never expected to see them appear again at this place…”

He carefully checked the wounds on the bodies. “There seems to be at least eight over here…”

Gu Xijiu looked at the ruined houses around. “However, if they were killed by the beasts, why would they destroy the houses?”

Di Fuyi thought for a moment. “The ruined houses should be man-made. If I guess correctly, the small town was destroyed by the war at first. However, some people were reluctant to leave their homes and unfortunately were killed by these beasts…”

At the moment, the town was getting surrounded by mist. Although it was now summer, the fog made the town chilly and mysterious.

Gu Xijiu looked up at the sun over her head. It was such a sunny day. Why would there be mist all of a sudden?

Di Fuyi suddenly pulled her to his side. “Be careful! They are coming!”

“Shuaaa!” A white shadow sprang from the mist! It moved at lightning speed toward Gu Xijiu!

Gu Xijiu did not manage to pull out her sword, so she flicked her finger and issued a power to the white shadow.

The power from finger was no weaker than her sword. When the power shot on the shadow, the shadow dissipated in the mist

Gu Xijiu was stunned for a moment. Had it been killed? She did not even get to see the shadow clearly.

Before she did anything else, there were another four to five shadows emerging from the mist that attacked both of them from four different directions.

This time Gu Xijiu finally got to see their physical appearance. Their body length was like a snake, and it was translucent. There was a pair of wings on their bodies that made them look like a dragon. However, they had a gorgeous face with smoky makeup. They had a single eyelid, high nose, and black lips. When they rushed out from the mist, they looked like they were smiling but it was quite scary to see them.

Were they the ? Where was their nailed tooth?

Gu Xijiu had doubts. However, at this moment, there was no time for her to overthink. She immediately drew her sword. When the sword was taken out, there was power issued from it which shot toward the four to five shadows. These shadows immediately dissipated into the mist and disappeared.

Gu Xijiu’s hand was shaking. She realized that the beasts were charging at her with an immense speed.

She frowned. Although these beasts were powerful and fast, it seemed relatively easy to kill if the person had at least a level eight spiritual power. She managed to kill them with only one move

“You should not hesitate to kill them. Otherwise, they will duplicate quickly.”
