Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 2217 - 538: An Unexpected Visitor 3

The story Yu Suxin told was the polar opposite of the narrative pushed by the Xuan Su Sect. If her account was true, her actions were entirely justified, and the sectʼs pursuit of her was a grave injustice.

However, Yang Guang was a seasoned leader; he knew better than to believe either side implicitly when it was a case of one personʼs word against anotherʼs.

”You came to me, revealing your dark past... surely you donʼt expect me to take pity on you and fight your battles?” Yang Guang asked. He didnʼt believe Yu Suxin could be so naive.

Even if he sympathized with her, he wouldnʼt gamble the safety of the entire Yang clan to wage war against an equal power for a stranger.

Yu Suxin shook her head. ”I told you those things only so there would be no more misunderstandings between us. I have come for another matter entirely.”

Yang Guang nodded, gesturing for her to continue.

”Does a woman named Su Mengchen reside here with the Yang family?” Yu Suxin asked, cutting straight to the chase.

”Mengchen? Why do you ask of her?” Yang Guang was genuinely surprised, though a thought flickered in his mind: Does this woman have a connection to Wang Yue?

”To be honest, I have lived in seclusion in Jinling for years and have ties with the Su family,” Yu Suxin said, mixing truth with a bit of fabrication.

”Su Mengchen has been gone for thirty years without a word. The Sus miss her dearly and are sick with worry. I have come to beg you, Patriarch, to honor the ties of kinship and allow her to return home for a visit.”

Yang Guang marveled at her. ”You risked revealing your identity and faced such danger just for this?”

A faint blush colored Yu Suxinʼs cheeks as she nodded. ”Yes. A member of the Su family did me a great favor once; I cannot leave a debt of gratitude unpaid.”

Yang Guang was moved. That she would go to such lengths for a debt spoke volumes about her character. He was now heavily inclined to believe her side of the story.

Though admitting Su Mengchen had been forcibly taken was a blow to the Yang familyʼs pride, Yang Guang was an honorable man. He was about to explain where she had gone when he suddenly froze.

From his hiding spot, Wang Yue had sent a message directly into Yang Guangʼs mind using True Qi transmission.

Though he didnʼt quite understand Wang Yueʼs intent, Yang Guang followed the script. ”That is a request we can discuss.

However, Mengchen is not currently in the village, and it will take time for her to return. The hour is late; why donʼt you stay the night, and we can settle this tomorrow?”

Yu Suxin was well aware of her own beauty and the magnetism she possessed. To be invited to stay the night in a strange place by a group of strangers—she would be lying if she said she wasnʼt apprehensive.

However, she was the one asking for a favor, and Yang Village seemed peaceful and orderly. Yang Guang himself radiated an aura of integrity. She decided to trust them.

Furthermore, as a Transcendence master, she had confidence in her own strength. If the Yangs harbored ill intent, she wouldnʼt be easy prey.

While the Yang family didnʼt have much contact with the outside world, they werenʼt completely isolated.

On the southern edge of the village, they maintained several guest courtyards.

To show respect, these houses were far more refined than the villagersʼ own homes. They werenʼt exactly ”luxury” in the modern sense, but they were fully equipped with everything one might need, with interiors rivaling a five-star hotel.

Yu Suxin was shown to one such courtyard, and a servant brought her a lavish dinner.

Being cautious, Yu Suxin didnʼt touch the food. She used her spatial ring to store a portion of the meal, making it look as though she had eaten, but not a single morsel passed her lips.

For a master of her level, going a month without food or water was a minor inconvenience; avoiding potentially drugged meals was the simplest way to stay safe.

As for knock-out gas or airborne toxins, she didnʼt worry—at the Transcendence Realm, unless a poison is ingested or enters a wound, there are few substances on earth capable of affecting a master through the air.

As darkness fell, Yu Suxin sat alone in her room, her face slightly flushed as she recalled sweet, lingering memories.

Raised in the traditional environment of the Sacred Lands, the idea of ”faithfulness to one man” was etched into her very bones.

Moreover, despite the ”circumstances” of their encounter in Tianhai, Wang Yue had... well, he had made her feel things she had never imagined.

Those sensations were addictive. And women are most susceptible to that addiction at two stages: when they first taste it, and when they reach their prime ”cougar” years. Yu Suxin was unique in that she was experiencing both at once.

Ever since she lost herself to Wang Yue, he had occupied her thoughts. Her initial flight had been driven more by overwhelming shyness than a desire to leave.

But as time passed, the shyness faded, leaving behind the memory of those exquisite sensations and a deepening longing for the young man.

Yet, her reservations were many. First, there was the age gap—she was technically old enough to be his grandmother. Even though a martial artistʼs youth is preserved, the number was hard for her to swallow. But the bigger obstacle was Li Yingying.

Yu Suxin had spent half her life drifting, thinking she would die alone, until fate brought her Yingying.

The girlʼs sweetness and devotion had given her a sense of family she hadnʼt felt in decades; she loved Yingying like her own daughter. She knew Yingying had feelings for Wang Yue. How could she possibly compete with her own disciple for a man?

Despite these conflicts, she couldnʼt help but care. When Yingying mentioned that Wang Yue was looking for the Yang family, Yu Suxin had acted without a second thought.

In her mind, the Sacred Lands were arrogant and domineering. If Wang Yue barged in demanding his aunt, a violent conflict was almost certain. She had decided to get there first to negotiate, thinking that as someone from a Sacred Land herself, the Yangs would be more inclined to listen to her. She didnʼt even stop to consider the danger to herself; unknowingly, Wang Yueʼs safety had become more important than her own.

Ding-dong.

The doorbell snapped her out of her reverie. She pressed the intercom. ”Who is it?”

”Miss Yu, an old friend has come to visit,” the voice of the Yang woman who had checked her in crackled through the speaker.

Yu Suxinʼs heart sank. An old friend? She didnʼt have any friends in this part of the world.

Had the Yang family sold her out? Was someone from the Xuan Su Sect already nearby?

Yu Suxin might be indecisive when it came to her feelings, but she was a woman of action when faced with a crisis—she wouldnʼt have survived this long otherwise.

If fate had come for her, there was no use hiding. She would meet it head-on, even if it meant a fight to the death.
