Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 2184 - 505: The Enlightened Monk 1

That night, the two cousins—freshly reunited and completely uninhibited—pushed each other to the absolute limit. They didnʼt stop until Yang Cancan was physically spent, finally collapsing into each otherʼs arms to sleep.

Even though Cancan wasnʼt a martial artist, years of basic training and a lifetime of manual labor meant her stamina was at the absolute peak of what a normal human could handle. By the time morning rolled around, she wasnʼt dragging at all. Instead, she looked radiant, practically glowing after their marathon session.

Thanks to Wang Yue using his Qi to soundproof the room, Su Nuanyue hadnʼt heard a thing, despite the absolute ruckus theyʼd made.

When they met up for breakfast, she was just a bit confused why Cancan hadnʼt come to sleep in her room like theyʼd planned.

Wang Yue and Cancan were perfectly in sync, though, smoothing things over with a few quick excuses before she could think too hard about it.

As for the Holy Land Yang family, there was still zero word from the Kaifeng Wang side. All Wang Yue could do was play the waiting game.

At least today wasnʼt going to be a total bore. Sure, wandering around solo yesterday had its moments of ”enlightenment,” but he much preferred having a beautiful woman on his arm.

Besides, while ”spiritual insights” were great for a power boost, nothing beat the raw efficiency of leveling up his actual cultivation base.

Other martial artists had a hell of a time raising their cultivation, so they had to obsess over ”insights” just to make up for their lack of raw power.

Not Wang Yue. For him, leveling up was easier than slamming a glass of water.

Even if his understanding of the ”Way” was shallower than his opponentʼs, he could always just use his superior cultivation to steamroll right over them.

His Qi was so pure that it gave him a massive edge in a real fight anyway. There was no point in chasing some sudden epiphany.

Of course, if one just happened to drop into his lap, he wasnʼt going to complain.

In fact, back when he decided to head to Li Yingyingʼs school for the ”student experience,” his goal wasnʼt some deep spiritual growth—it was a certain gorgeous woman who had left a permanent mark on his childhood.

”Auntie, Sis... you guys know any good spots to hit up in Kaifeng?” Wang Yue asked after breakfast. Having a babe around was great, but sitting around the house doing nothing was a waste of time.

Yesterday, Su Nuanyue had done all the talking. Today, sheʼd planned to grill Wang Yue about how things were going back in Jinling, but seeing how restless he was, she put those questions on ice.

She thought for a second and said, ”I think thereʼs a temple fair over at the Demon-Buddha Temple today. Should be pretty lively.”

”Demon-Buddha Temple?” Wang Yue raised an eyebrow. ”Thatʼs a hell of a name. Are they supposed to be demons or buddhas?”

”Honestly, no clue,” Su Nuanyue said with a small smile and a shrug.

He looked over at Cancan, who just shook her head too. The two of them had spent their lives struggling just to keep their heads above water; they didnʼt exactly have the luxury of keeping up with local lore.

Wang Yue felt a pang of sympathy but kept it light. ”Well, if itʼs a temple fair, thereʼs bound to be some cool stuff to see. Auntie, Sis—why donʼt we all go check it out?”

”You two go ahead. Iʼll pass,” Su Nuanyue said, laughing it off. ”Places like that are too loud and crowded for me.” Sheʼd wrecked her foundation training when she was just a teenager, leaving her physically fragile.

Sheʼd spent most of her life indoors, and over time, sheʼd become a homebody who craved peace and quiet.

A chaotic temple fair was the last place she wanted to be. Plus, her body just wasnʼt up for a long day out in the sun.

Cancan, on the other hand, was all in. Even though she kept insisting they maintain their ”cousin” dynamic, she was totally lying to herself. Spending the day alone with Wang Yue? Going out to have fun? That was a date, plain and simple, and she was thrilled.

Since Su Nuanyue was used to being alone, they didnʼt worry about leaving her. The two of them said their goodbyes and headed out.

It was still early, but the local ”neighborhood watch”—that group of high-energy old biddies—was already at their posts. Seeing Wang Yue and Cancan walk out together set the rumor mill spinning instantly.

Todayʼs gossip was way worse than yesterdayʼs. It was obvious Wang Yue had spent the night. If you wrote down what those old ladies were whispering, you could practically publish it as erotica.

Neither Wang Yue nor Cancan gave a damn, though.

Wang Yueʼs perspective was on a different level. Itʼs like the saying goes: if youʼre on the second floor and someoneʼs shouting insults at you, it pisses you off.

But if youʼre on the 100th floor, you canʼt even hear them—and if you see their mouths moving, you just assume theyʼre singing.

Cancanʼs logic was even simpler: Iʼm moving out anyway, so talk all the shit you want. Besides, nothing you say is half as wild as what we actually did last night. Iʼm only holding back because I donʼt have the energy to deal with you; otherwise, Iʼd pull out my cousinʼs gear right now and give you old hags a heart attack!

Once they cleared the neighborhood, Wang Yue ducked into a clothing store with her. He helped her pick out a new outfit and finally ditched his disguise, going back to his real face.

Cancan usually didnʼt care about fashion, but a girl in love wants to look her best for her man. She didnʼt fight him on it.

They walked into the store as an average-looking pair; they walked out looking like a couple of A-list celebrities. People were literally stopping in their tracks to stare.

Cancan had ditched the ”tomboy” act, but she still wasnʼt into the frilly, delicate look. Sheʼd pinned her long hair up into a sharp bun. She was rocking a black tube top under a cropped black vest, a black leather miniskirt, and knee-high black boots.

The all-black look made her pale, slender arms and thighs pop, and with her drop-dead gorgeous face, she looked like a total badass.

Sheʼd decided to stop hiding her beauty and show Wang Yue exactly what she was working with. She looked striking, maybe even a little provocative.

Wang Yue loved it. If she were alone, she might not be able to handle the attention that kind of beauty brings, but with him by her side, nobody was going to lay a finger on her.

Since Kaifeng was one of the Top 10 Super Cities—and one of the most martial-arts-obsessed—the Martial Arts Alliance and the military kept a tight lid on things. The security here was actually better than in Tianhai.

There was still a criminal underbelly, sure, but a girl as hot as Cancan could walk down the street without getting harassed every five minutes.

Of course, it helped that she wasnʼt too beautiful. Donʼt get it twisted—she was a one-in-a-million babe—but in a city this big, there were other women in her league.

Now, if this had been Su Mengyan, it wouldnʼt have mattered how strict the laws were; some idiot with his brains in his pants wouldʼve tried something.

Luckily, Mengyan hated going out and almost never showed her face in public. If she did, sheʼd probably start a riot just by walking to the store.

The Demon-Buddha Temple was over thirty miles away. Walking was out of the question, so they hailed a cab and headed straight for the fair.
