62: Chapter 62 The Earl’s MissionAfter the territory war ended, Fu Hao welcomed a non-stop day.

”Have you heard? Starting today, taxes are being reduced!”

”Not just that, I heard the new lord is a legendary knight!”

While taking over the Lote Territory, Maya Territory, and Rena Territory, Fu Hao pacified the residents while pushing forward with reconstruction.

”How should we thank the Lord...”

”Is this not a dream?”

”To think we could wait until this day...”

He redeployed the residents of Lepis Territory into the pasture area, where the monster threat had been removed due to the dam explosion.

He also ordered 50,000 sets of soldier equipment each from Calus and Rahim, with the materials naturally provided by Fu Hao.

”guardian spear... I really want to possess one.”

After finishing the trivial matters, Fu Hao sighed inwardly. He had thought he could at least replicate Helm’s ”guardian spear” and ”Guardian Shield,” but discovered that the required materials were currently impossible to obtain.

”It is a pity, but there is no other way.”

He determined to reinforce Helm’s equipment to +10—although he had not officially recruited Helm, as his master and one of the world’s strongest legends, Fu Hao firmly believed that investment would yield returns.

Of course, his real thought was: ”What is the master’s is the disciple’s; it’s good to borrow it to use during battle.”

Fu Hao used the Fates Luck skill to first reinforce the armadillo shield to +10, followed by the level 400 gauntlets. For the remaining four parts—head, chest, legs, and boots—he planned to reinforce them all to +10 before proceeding to reinforce Helm’s equipment.

”Have the results of the territory war not come out yet?”

”Not yet.”

”Report immediately when they arrive.”

”Yes.”

Prince Mian eagerly awaited the results of the territory war—thinking that Fu Hao would lose the ancient ruins’ treasures and become a laughingstock, he felt exceptionally cheerful.

He did not doubt the strength of the Iron Blood Knights at all; after all, they were an elite force that could easily crush even noble Knight Orders.

In fact, the Knight Orders of the three territories were already stronger than the troops Fu Hao had hastily assembled; anyone else might have chosen to utilize the Knight Orders of the three territories to lower the risk, but Prince Mian, having been played by Fu Hao twice, dared not treat this as a game.

”Seeking one’s own death cannot be blamed on others; if you want to blame someone, blame his own excessive ambition.”

”Exactly. Seeing his greedy appearance, perhaps he had confidence in defeating the three lords’ Knight Orders, but encountering the Iron Blood Knights, the outcome will be miserable.”

”The Prince is still wise!”

As the master and servant were feeling smug, the results of the territory war finally arrived.

”Your Highness, the results are here.”

”Hmm, how many minutes did it take to resolve?”

The servant’s hands began to tremble as he opened the letter.

”What, could it be that Fu Hao forfeited and ran away?”

”...They were crushed in one blow.”

”As expected! The Iron Blood Knights still have that much strength.”

The servant’s face turned pale, and he spoke with difficulty:

”It was Fu Hao who killed our hundred Iron Blood Knights in one hit...”

Prince Mian snatched the letter, his face instantly turning as pale as the servant’s.

”Finally received a mission of normal difficulty.”

Seeing the SSS difficulty, Fu Hao smiled—previously, it was all ”immeasurable difficulty” or ”no difficulty” abnormal missions; now, facing an SSS, it actually seemed friendly.

[”Candy” tipped 50 yuan. — — (Is SSS difficulty really normal?)]

[”Crepas” tipped 50 yuan. — — (Except for the immeasurable difficulty missions, I haven’t played any other difficulties yet)]

”A mere 3S difficulty, I can handle it soon.”

Fu Hao was full of confidence—”persuading others” was exactly his specialty.

The first person he visited was his nominal ”craftsman mentor,” Duke Doris.

”I heard; I already prepared a letter of recommendation, take it.”

”Thank you.”

The neutral faction certainly has a keen sense of smell.

”Can you introduce other high-ranking nobles?”

”Sorry, if you weren’t in the First Prince’s faction, it would be easier to talk about...”

”What a useless old guy.” Fu Hao complained inwardly.

- ”Slippery Duke.”

- ”How long are you going to stay neutral?”

- ”Stop being a coward~”

With no other choice, Fu Hao used a teleportation gem to arrive at the First Prince’s palace—this place was as familiar to him as Lepis Territory.

”Fu Hao! My good friend! Do you know how long I have been waiting for you?”

Prince Carlson greeted him warmly.

”I just heard about the territory war; calling you a ’Legendary Knight’ now wouldn’t be an exaggeration!”

”The First Prince overpraises.”

”No, thanks to you and Mr. Helm, I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. You are always helping me; as a prince, I should have been helping you...”

”Actually, I came specifically to seek help. Could you ask the high-ranking nobles of your faction to write me a letter of recommendation?”

”Of course.”

Fortunately, Prince Carlson did not disappoint Fu Hao.

”About how many can I get?”

”There are only seven high-ranking nobles I can confirm on my side; most support Prince Mian’s side, or are neutral... I want to step forward personally, but it is really inconvenient...”

Prince Carlson looked troubled.

”That is enough.” Fu Hao remained calm—counting Duke Doris, there were currently eight, and ten more were needed. But he was not panicked at all.

Prince Mian, who had been staring blankly at the letter for ten minutes, finally came to his senses: ”Count title...”

Fu Hao annexing the three territories and coveting the Count title was within expectations, but the weight of high-ranking nobles and low-ranking nobles was vastly different—as a mortal enemy, Prince Mian had to stop him.

Leaving the First Prince’s palace, Fu Hao headed to the territory of a high-ranking noble he had met at Duke Doris’s party.

”Good thing I attended that party.”

Even with the title of ”Helm’s disciple,” lobbying a stranger and lobbying an acquaintance were worlds apart.

”Count Claude, long time no see.”

”Long time no see, Viscount, what business do you have with me?”

”To be blunt, I need a letter of recommendation for the Count title.”

Count Claude’s expression sank: ”I would like to help Mr. Helm’s disciple, but I am afraid I cannot...”

”Is it because of the throne succession issue?”

”To be honest, Prince Mian sent a letter warning that whoever dares to write you a letter of recommendation will be treated as an enemy. Do not tell anyone that I revealed this.”

- ”It’s that bastard Prince Mian again!”

- ”Prince Mian only knows how to play dirty tricks behind people’s backs!”

- ”This Prince Mian is really annoying!”

The live stream chat was instantly flooded with comments cursing Prince Mian, but Fu Hao was calm instead. He took out a prepared money bag from his backpack and slammed it heavily onto the coffee table in the reception room, causing the table legs to creak.

”What is the meaning of this?”

”No other meaning; how about ten million gold coins for one letter of recommendation? I heard you recently started a new venture and are tight on funds?”

- ”The bribery begins!”

- ”The King of Bribery is online!”

Whether the news was true or not, Count Claude’s gaze was glued to the money bag, but he quickly forced himself to remain calm: ”Sorry, a noble’s honor cannot be measured by money...”

”Twenty million.” Fu Hao took out another bag of gold coins.

”If Prince Mian uses this to suppress you, I will definitely help you resolve it. How about it?”

Count Claude remained silent. Seeing this, Fu Hao stood up to leave, but was grabbed by the shoulder by the other party: ”I will write it.”

- ”That’s right!”

- ”Who can resist ten million?”

Five hours later, Fu Hao collected the required ten letters of recommendation, and the mission completion prompt popped up:

[”Rowen Kingdom Count Promotion” mission complete]

[First player to obtain the Count title]

[Obtained title ”First Count”]

- ”SSS mission done for 600 million.”

- ”Much cheaper than the ancient ruins mission.”

- ”Quick, reveal the title attributes!!”

Although he completed the SSS-level mission, Fu Hao didn’t feel much sense of achievement—all he did was use teleportation gems to send money everywhere. But when he saw the effects of the ”First Count” title, his eyes lit up again:
