Transmigrating Into a Book, the Villain Becomes the White Moonlight!

29: Chapter 29 Artist ContractSu Bai didn’t seem to be in a hurry. He walked into the room and looked around casually, his gaze sweeping over the tidy but empty living room. His brows twitched slightly, and he asked with a hint of natural confusion, ”It’s already noon; why haven’t you ordered anything to eat? Aren’t you hungry?”

”I... I can’t eat.” Mu Xue stood to the side, her head lowered, her hands twisting nervously together. Her mind was currently filled with the foul comments on the campus forum and her impending collapse of a life; she had no appetite at all.

Su Bai said no more. He walked to the coffee table and pressed the hotel’s quick-service bell.

The call was answered almost instantly. He gave a simple instruction into the receiver: ”Send up two lunches, two meat dishes and two vegetable dishes. Just match them as you see fit.”

”Certainly, Young Master Su. Please wait a moment; we will prepare them for you immediately,” came the well-trained response from the staff member on the other end.

After hanging up, Su Bai sat back down on the sofa and casually handed the contract he had gotten from his father to Mu Xue. ”Sign this.”

Mu Xue froze for a moment, then hesitantly took the neatly bound, thick document.

The large words ”Artist Management Contract” on the cover caught her eye.

She flipped open the contract to find it filled with dense clauses and legal jargon. She tried to read it; she recognized the words, but the complex sentences and hidden meanings they formed made her brain go numb, leaving her completely unable to understand it.

”This... what is this?” She looked up, her eyes full of confusion.

”An artist contract,” Su Bai explained succinctly, summarizing the core of the thick document in the most straightforward terms. ”Simply put, by signing this, if you want to become a star or an artist in the future, you must be under our family’s company. You can’t go anywhere else.”

”I don’t want to be an artist.” Mu Xue shook her head almost without thinking.

She had no yearning for that glamorous yet complicated circle; she only wanted to return to a normal, peaceful life.

”Whether you become one or not doesn’t matter,” Su Bai leaned back into the soft sofa and crossed his legs, looking at her calmly. ”What matters is that if you sign this, I can settle this troublesome matter you’re facing.”

Hearing this, the last trace of hesitation in Mu Xue’s eyes vanished.

Without any delay, she immediately turned and fished a ballpoint pen out of her backpack in the corner of the sofa. Without even glancing at the harsh terms in the back that she couldn’t understand, she signed her name neatly on the line for Party B—Mu Xue.

Seeing her sign so readily, even with a hint of desperation, Su Bai was actually somewhat surprised.

He raised an eyebrow and couldn’t help but ask, ”You... aren’t going to look at it carefully? Aren’t you afraid this is some kind of slave contract, or that there are some particularly bizarre clauses inside?”

Mu Xue put down the pen and shook her head gently, a bitter curve touching the corner of her mouth. ”What do I have left to be afraid of?”

She knew her current situation clearly and understood her own value—the most precious thing she had was already given to Su Bai when the transaction began.

Besides that, she had nothing. What else could Su Bai possibly want from her?

This contract was merely a ticket to resolve the current crisis.

”OK, then it’s settled.” Seeing her like this, Su Bai didn’t waste any more words. He reached out to take back the signed contract and carefully put it away. ”Stay here during the day for the next few days. Once the storm outside dies down, you can go back to school.”

Downstairs at the hotel.

Uncle Fu’s car had long been waiting at the entrance. Su Bai opened the door and sat in the back. Uncle Fu spoke steadily, ”Young Master, the person has been found. Our men cornered him in an internet cafe and have invited him to stay in a quiet place for the time being.”

This person was, of course, the lingering backstabber, Kamii Ta-no.

”Do we have our own industries or influential connections over in Sakura Country?” Su Bai leaned against the comfortable leather seat, looking out at the street scenery flashing by, and asked in a flat tone.

”The group has some investments and cooperative projects in Sakura Country. The network is managed quite solidly; handling small matters won’t be an issue.” Uncle Fu glanced at Su Bai through the rearview mirror and answered understandingly.

”Mm,” Su Bai gave a soft hum and issued the final command. ”Then let him go back to Sakura Country to ’live well.’ I don’t want to see this person in A City again, especially not at the school.”

”Yes, Young Master, I will make the proper arrangements.” Uncle Fu didn’t question anything and accepted the order decisively.

Uncle Fu had been with the Su Family almost since Su Bai was born.

Initially, he was Su Zheng’s personal assistant—highly capable and deeply trusted.

As Su Bai grew up, Uncle Fu’s role quietly shifted, and he became the butler specifically responsible for handling all of Su Bai’s minor affairs.

He was called a butler, but in reality, he was more like Su Bai’s shadow, cleaner, and most loyal executor.

Directly dealing with a person like this today was a first.

Yet Uncle Fu accurately grasped Su Bai’s intentions. He didn’t even need Su Bai to say much; a look or a vague instruction was enough.

Whether Su Bai displayed his usual laziness or, occasionally, a cold decisiveness like today, Uncle Fu would accept and execute it without reservation.

Sometimes, Su Bai would even have the dazed feeling that Uncle Fu was like a universal NPC assigned to a Villain’s side to handle all the chores—he seemed to have no life or emotions of his own, and his reason for existence was to satisfy Su Bai’s every need, whatever that might be.

According to the famous Japanese psychiatric memoir, Kamii Ta-no described: ”I was only eighteen then. He went ’smack’ and gave me a slap. No, it was three slaps.”

In this novel world, Su Bai didn’t have to use his brain at all to deal with a nobody.

Have you ever seen a Villain in a novel get bullied by anyone other than the Protagonist?

It has always been us Villains bullying others; who would dare bully us?!

”Young Master, are we going straight to the school now?” Uncle Fu’s voice pulled Su Bai’s thoughts back.

”No, go to the Lin Family’s company first.” Su Bai withdrew his gaze. ”The game project has been going on for over two months. I’m going to see exactly how much they’ve cooked up. They shouldn’t just be burning money without producing results.”

The car drove smoothly all the way and finally stopped below the office building of the Lin Family’s company.

Someone looking like an assistant was already waiting respectfully at the entrance. Seeing Su Bai get out of the car, they immediately came forward and led him to the private elevator directly to the floor where the game development department was located.

”Young Master Su, this is the core game R&D team we’ve specifically assembled for your project.” The assistant introduced while leading the way. ”Boss Lin specifically instructed that you can come to inspect at any time. If you have any requests, you can raise them directly, and we will cooperate fully.”
