Three Towers Game

Chapter 317: Chapter 119: If You Can’t Even Trust in Games_2

Wen Xishu developed a new sense of admiration for Wenren Mirror’s charisma.

”One word, impressive! Alright, Senior Wenren, I understand the situation now.”

Wenren Mirror said:

”I wonder what your angle will be. Tell me about it when you return?”

Wen Xishu replied:

”My mission is described as bringing joy to a man named John. I think he might be the creator of the post-apocalyptic survival game.”

”Moreover, this person is likely to possess some kind of powerful qualification, possibly being a leader or even a dominator-level entity in the Slaughter Tower.”

Wenren Mirror nodded:

”Good, as expected, it’s different from our approach. Good luck.”

Wen Xishu waved and said:

”Goodbye, Senior. I won’t dawdle any longer; I’m heading to the Desire Tower now.”

Wenren Mirror said:

”Alright, same here. See you at the Bunker.”

...

...

Desire Tower, fifteenth floor. Region: Wind City.

Different from before, this time Wen Xishu could explore the entire Wind City.

”It seems the higher the level, the larger the map? And also, the harder it is to find the target. The way the Desire Tower increases difficulty is really... not on the same scale as the other two towers. No wonder so many people love the Desire Tower.”

Wind City wasn’t big; compared to Mo’en City, Wind City was about one-third its size.

However, Wind City indeed was bustling. Wen Xishu was now on the streets of Wind City. From afar, he could see the seventy-story Golden Mansion.

”I must find John first.” Wen Xishu looked around, ready to use the fake Destiny Compass.

However, he soon stopped because he saw overwhelming advertisements, game advertisements.

Almost everywhere, posters were hanging, promoting a game called ”Doomsday,” claiming it would redefine gaming.

”Redefine gaming,” ”immersive experience,” ”the most realistic game in history,” ”all other games will be meaningless from now on,” ”nobody can resist its arrival” — these eye-catching slogans, combined with various visuals, filled every corner of streets and alleys.

Wen Xishu looked at those images, and they were basically real; he saw many familiar scenes.

Schools, Violet Garden District, and various landmarks in Wind City.

Playing games is all about immersion, and when the people of Wind City see a game claiming to be incredibly realistic and set in Wind City itself, they all eagerly anticipated it.

But Wen Xishu suddenly felt that the game’s slogans might not be exaggerating the game but objectively describing it.

Immersive experience, the most realistic game in history — this evidently was not exaggerated, because the scenes in the game matched the Deceit Tower scenarios Wen Xishu himself experienced.

That couldn’t even be called immersive; it was basically transporting people directly into a zombie-filled post-apocalyptic world.

”Of course, all other games are meaningless, because doomsday has arrived. Whether there are games or not is beside the point.”

”No one can resist its arrival — is it saying that doomsday is coming, and no one can stop it?”

Every nook and cranny of Wind City was filled with game slogans, but no one realized that these were not game slogans; this was...

A sign of doomsday’s arrival.

Wen Xishu couldn’t imagine that the start of the Desire Tower mission would be like this.

”It’s more twisted than I imagined. Normally, even those with leader-level qualifications like Tang Rui and Jack wouldn’t realize doomsday was upon them.”

”So far, there has only been one scenario where, after I arrived, the NPCs realized doomsday was coming and started preparing for it. That scenario involved An Rongzai, the controller of the Sanqiu Group.”

”Wenren Mirror mentioned that the game he was actually playing was very different from the advertised game.”

”So recently, a post-apocalyptic survival game was indeed released, with content closely resembling this. This is definitely not a coincidence, because Wenren Mirror said he had to beat that game.”

”This means that Wind City’s zombie apocalypse is related to the game called ’Doomsday.’

The task’s title was The Troubles of Genius John. Wen Xishu speculated that John was likely the author of the game ’Doomsday.’

”Alright, back to the original question. I’ll find John first.”

Wen Xishu took out the Destiny Compass. He had many ways, but now the Compass was the simplest no-brainer; if he could cheat, he wouldn’t bother using his brain.

But this time, the Compass needle was erratic.

When Wen Xishu took out the Compass, he discovered something strange: the Scorpio cheat knife was actually trembling. The knife was trembling, and the Compass needle kept erratically pointing in different directions...

These anomalies made Wen Xishu realize the gravity of the situation.

”Is the knife interfering with the Compass? No, this knife belongs to me now; it has no reason to hinder me.”

”The Destiny Compass... is not being interfered with by the Scorpio knife. The erratic needle means there’s significant danger. It doesn’t want me to go to John’s location.”

”The Scorpio knife is also giving a warning.”

It was a strange feeling as if Wen Xishu could sense the thoughts of the two god-level items.

The Compass and the knife, although both orange-tier items, were clearly of a higher grade than other orange items like the Murder Soccer Ball.

”You... don’t want me to seek John at this moment?”

As if responding to Wen Xishu, the trembling of the Scorpio cheat knife suddenly stopped. The Destiny Compass needle also stopped moving erratically.

Wen Xishu’s expression turned serious.
