Three Towers Game

Chapter 177: Chapter 87 Desk Lamp War God_3

”Wow, great, great! But... hey, how long before they notice? Hahaha, isn’t this so much fun?”

Tong Ming was the type to revel in others’ misfortunes.

Wen Xishu didn’t like Tong Ming, but he didn’t dislike him that much either—after all, he was also just a spectator right now, eager to see how long it would take for the two to realize something:

Their monster kill count hadn’t changed.

Wang Ying and Aspasia were deeply engrossed in killing enemies; the more professional they were, the more they knew not to get distracted.

So even though the number was clearly displayed at the bottom right corner of their vision, even though that figure hadn’t changed... they both had forgotten it momentarily.

Monster kill progress: 0/100.

In other words, even though they had tirelessly killed around twenty normal types so far, the mission hadn’t counted any of them.

Zheng Zai was a bit worried, wanting to remind them, but there was no way he could get on the same ”channel” as Wang Ying and the others.

Another three normal types approached, and at that moment, Wang Ying, with steel rods in both hands, swiftly spun around in a 360-degree turn, piercing all three through the temples in almost a second.

This burst of energy left Zheng Zai impressed, and Tong Ming gave a thumbs-up.

Wang Ying himself felt it too; in this dangerous environment, he seemed to have unlocked his potential, pulling off several cool and efficient kills.

It was only then that he thought about checking the kill count, hoping to flaunt in front of Aspasia, to show her his prowess.

That’s what Wang Ying thought, but the smile on his face disappeared the moment he saw the number...

”How... how could this be possible? What’s going on? Why is it like this! Why!”

Wang Ying’s cry gave Aspasia an ominous feeling:

”What’s happened!”

Aspasia’s breathing had become irregular.

Wang Ying said:

”Look at the required kill count for the mission...”

First frowning, Aspasia then suddenly became alarmed, fear showing on her face:

”Why... we’ve clearly already...”

Wang Ying did not know either. At this moment, more normal types appeared around them. He picked up the steel rod, wanting to fight, but his movements had slowed considerably.

It wasn’t because he was tired, but because he was hesitating internally, worried that all his efforts would be in vain.

”Help! Can’t we ask for help?” Aspasia shouted loudly.

Her voice was a bit hoarse. Although she was far superior to normal types, she couldn’t keep this up. Wang Ying didn’t want to ask for help, but he had no other choice now.

At this point, the three people watching the TV had all heard Wang Ying’s voice:

”Help... help me! What should we do now? You guys know what’s happening, right? Asp—”

Mr. Wang hadn’t finished speaking when he had to interrupt himself to kick away an approaching normal type, then continued:

”Aspasia and I were teleported to a strange place! Help us! We need to kill a hundred monsters, but after killing dozens, the count hasn’t changed!”

The help request only lasted one minute.

Tong Ming said: ”Ca... Captain, hang in there! Hang in there! It’s terrifying, Captain, but if it’s you, you’ll definitely survive!”

Tong Ming’s tone was filled with fear and trepidation.

Zheng Zai suddenly found himself disliking this young man. He seemed to be about the same age as Younger Brother Wen, but completely lacked the sense of chivalry.

Wang Ying felt like cursing; he didn’t ask for help just to hear motivational words!

Wen Xishu calmly said:

”Use a desk lamp. Captain, try using a desk lamp. Ditch the steel rods and use a desk lamp against the monsters.”

”Got it! Wen Xishu, thank you!”

At this moment, Wang Ying genuinely thanked Wen Xishu, and so did Aspasia.

The time for asking for help had ended.

Tong Ming resumed his smile:

”Why did you do that if you dislike them too? I can tell you don’t like them. Why save them?”

Even if the desk lamp wasn’t a lethal weapon, it was still effective against a hundred low-level normal types without a combat strategy. Wang Ying and Aspasia could manage it.

Tong Ming thought Wen Xishu’s suggestion was highly accurate, so he was puzzled:

”Wang Ying isn’t as competent as you, but he’s jealous of you. He thinks of himself as the captain and dislikes your correct suggestions.”

”So, you’re someone who returns good for evil...”

Wen Xishu said:

”Yes, at this moment, the captain is helping us verify the game’s mechanics. We owe him. How he feels about me is his business, but I can’t stand by and do nothing.”

Tong Ming found it dull.

Of course, what Wen Xishu said wasn’t the truth.

Wen Xishu figured there were still eleven rounds of these sorts of challenges. If two people died in the first round, it would be too fast. Teammates were expendable, but you couldn’t expend them too quickly.

Zheng Zai, on the other hand, was thinking: Younger Brother Wen is too good! How did I deserve a teammate as good as him?

...

On the other side, on the battlefield, Wang Ying, with desk lamps in both hands, struck at the necks of the normal types.

”Aspasia, stop aiming for their temples. Find a way to disable their knees. Let’s avoid ineffective kills!”

Once Wang Ying regained his composure, the few decisions he made were quite accurate.

If you killed them without using the desk lamp, it would be a waste of effort. But if you didn’t kill them and used the desk lamp to finish them off, it would count as a kill.

The desk lamp was also remarkable, without any damage at all. It didn’t have strong destructive power, but it was tough to break.
