The world reincarnates, each time a new talent!

218: Location of the martial arts conferenceInformation regarding Shi Potian’s appearance and other details had long been known to the people of the Jianghu.

And the speed at which news spread across the Jianghu was far faster than people could travel.

Therefore, when Shi Potian arrived at another location with Bai Axiu, they were quickly recognized.

”May I ask, are you Young Hero Gou and Miss Bai?”

As soon as they arrived at the inn, someone came forward to ask.

”How do you know us?” Shi Potian asked curiously.

Upon hearing this, the group laughed and said, ”Young Hero’s great name is now known to everyone; naturally, we have heard of you long ago.”

”It is said that Young Hero can exchange dozens of moves with Headmaster Yue of the Huashan Sect, and we are truly full of admiration, which is why we have come forward to disturb you.”

”You flatter me. Headmaster Yue did not use his full strength; otherwise, I fear I would not have lasted ten moves. If you are also here to ask me to participate in the Martial Arts Assembly and compete for the position of Martial Arts Alliance Leader, I suggest you say no more.”

”I have absolutely no interest in the position of Martial Arts Alliance Leader, and even if I went up, it would only be courting humiliation.”

Shi Potian said directly, without any concealment.

”Young Hero, please do not be so humble. With your strength, you will surely become famous throughout the Jianghu, and when the time comes, all our Schools will support you to become the Martial Arts Alliance Leader.”

Someone stood up and said loudly.

”Indeed, the Martial Arts Alliance Leader does not necessarily have to be the person with the highest martial arts skills; what is even more valuable is their character. We observe that Young Hero possesses a heart of chivalry and acts with benevolence, kindness, and moderation. If Young Hero could become the Martial Arts Alliance Leader, it would be a blessing for the entire Jianghu.”

”Well said! This is what a true candidate for Martial Arts Alliance Leader should look like.”

”Doesn’t Yue Buqun say he wants to rectify the atmosphere of the Martial Forest? But I see his methods as being even more extreme than those of Zuo Lengchan in the past. If such a person becomes the Martial Arts Alliance Leader and is responsible for rectifying the Martial Forest, I fear it will just be another campaign to eliminate dissent. When that time comes, those who follow him will prosper and those who resist will perish; who knows how many heroes will die under his butcher’s knife.”

”We implore Young Hero, for the sake of the Righteous Path of the Martial Forest and to promote justice, you must prevent Yue Buqun from becoming the Martial Arts Alliance Leader!”

As he spoke, the person who had been speaking suddenly knelt on one knee before Shi Potian, his expression serious and heavy. Seeing this, the others immediately reacted and knelt down one after another.

At the same time, they said, ”Yes, Young Hero, the future of the Martial Forest and the peace of the Martial Forest now depend entirely on you. We hope Young Hero will consider this carefully!”

”We will anxiously await Young Hero ascending to the Supreme position!”

Faced with this situation, Shi Potian was at a loss for what to do for a moment.

He was not afraid of people being tough with him; that would be clear-cut, and he wouldn’t need to worry.

But he was most afraid of this kind of situation.

It left him not knowing what to do.

Faced with this situation, he couldn’t just hurt them, could he?

”Seniors, you are the true Seniors. No matter how this Martial Arts Alliance Leader is chosen, it is not my place as a Junior to step forward. I ask you all to please rise quickly.”

Shi Potian had no choice but to speak kindly.

He lifted his hands, and an invisible force lifted everyone present.

Some were unwilling and wanted to resist, continuing to kneel, but they soon discovered that they could not resist at all, as if there was a stone under their knees lifting them up.

In the end, they could only stand up.

But this display left everyone present shocked, and then their hearts settled.

”It seems the rumors in the Jianghu are true. To be able to lift so many people present simultaneously—such Internal Energy is truly unique in this Jianghu. Even Great Master Fang Zheng of Shaolin or Daoist Chongxu of Wudang would likely find it beyond their capabilities.”

”Especially since this young man looks extremely relaxed; one doesn’t even know if he used five percent of his strength. Although we don’t know how he attained such profound cultivation, it definitely surpasses everyone in the world today, except for Yue Buqun.”

”Even Dongfang Bubai likely does not have such power.”

And this made everyone present even more convinced that Shi Potian was the savior of the future.

They became even more eager for Shi Potian to step forward.

However, Shi Potian found it difficult to face such a scene and pulled Bai Axiu away quickly.

Only after leaving for a long time and getting rid of those people did the two of them breathe a sigh of relief.

”Brother Gou, these people are truly too crazy.”

Bai Axiu also let out a long breath and wiped the sweat from her forehead.

She had a lingering fear on her face.

”I don’t know what’s going on either. Why would they rather have me be this Martial Arts Alliance Leader than have Yue Buqun sit in that position? Is there any difference?”

Shi Potian also felt bewildered.

”Brother Gou, perhaps they feel you are more amiable, easier to control, and have no intention of meddling in the internal affairs of their various Schools.”

Bai Axiu speculated: ”Especially since you, Brother Gou, have no power behind you, so there is naturally no possibility of you suppressing other Schools to expand your own strength.”

”But Yue Buqun is the Huashan Sect Leader and the Five Mountains Alliance Chief; he is already a top-tier power in the world. Once he sits in the position of Alliance Leader, it is inevitable that he will use his power for personal gain and open doors of convenience for his own Sect.”

”Once the influence of Huashan or the Five Mountains Sword Sect continues to expand, it will correspondingly suppress and threaten the survival of other Schools. Therefore, these Schools would rather choose a young man with no Foundation than have Yue Buqun become the Martial Arts Alliance Leader.”

”Axiu, you are indeed smart.”

Shi Potian’s eyes lit up when he heard this, and he nodded repeatedly, greatly agreeing.

”Brother Gou, what do you think?”

Bai Axiu looked at Shi Potian and asked.

”Me?”

Shi Potian was stunned, then touched his head and revealed a simple, honest smile. ”A Supreme position like the Martial Arts Alliance Leader is not something I can sit in, and I don’t have the brains to do these things.”

”Besides, these people all have ulterior motives. Although they all appear to be very sincere, in the end, they are still considering themselves and want me to be the spearhead.”

”Brother Gou, you are indeed very smart; these people do indeed have such a purpose, but...”

Bai Axiu’s tone changed as she said, ”But some of what they said makes sense; that is, if Yue Buqun really becomes the Martial Arts Alliance Leader, his power will expand, and I fear...”

Bai Axiu revealed a worried look.

After all, she still had the Snow Mountain Sect behind her.

Although the Snow Mountain Sect was far away, once the entire Jianghu fell into Yue Buqun’s hands, that distance would not mean anything.

”Axiu, don’t worry. When we find Grandpa Bai and the others, I will definitely ensure the Snow Mountain Sect stays out of it.”

Shi Potian comforted her.

However, all along the way, wherever Shi Potian went, he would encounter similar people and face similar scenes.

At the same time, remarks about how Yue Buqun was unworthy of becoming the Martial Arts Alliance Leader also spread throughout the Martial Forest.

Everyone said that Yue Buqun had committed a great crime on Xia Ke Island, slaughtered all the experts who went to the island, enjoyed the divine martial arts alone, and was simply unworthy of being the Martial Arts Alliance Leader.

Others said that Yue Buqun had gone on a killing spree at Huashan, slaughtering experts from various Schools, and that he lacked talent and virtue. If he served as the Alliance Leader, it would only deepen the hatred among the various Schools of the Martial Forest, and other such remarks.

In any case, all sorts of remarks were saying that Yue Buqun should not serve as the Martial Arts Alliance Leader, and that a young hero like Shi Potian was the only one qualified.

And everyone was discussing that if a person with a pure heart like Shi Potian could serve as the Martial Arts Alliance Leader, then the Jianghu would surely fall into peace and there would be no more disputes.

It could be said that even though Shi Potian had no intention of taking the Alliance Leader position, in such an environment of public opinion, he had been shaped into someone who intended to be the Alliance Leader, and he had even gained the support of half the forces in the world.

The weight of public opinion was heavy.

It seemed to bring an opponent and pressure to Yue Buqun.

It made the position of Alliance Leader, which originally had no suspense, now have suspense.

It also made some of the neutral factions that originally supported Yue Buqun begin to hesitate.

They were deeply aware that once Yue Buqun became the Martial Arts Alliance Leader, their various Schools would likely be affected, but constrained by his strength and prestige, they had to compromise for the sake of their own Schools’ Legacy.

But now, they saw hope again.

They saw hope of getting rid of Yue Buqun.

Therefore, they spared no effort.

Even without collusion, they all tacitly and quietly helped promote Shi Potian.

This resulted in the momentum seen today.

Letting the whole world know of Shi Potian’s existence.

And Ning Yuan naturally also received these reports.

”Alliance Leader, these people are truly shameless. They actually want to find a young man to be the Martial Arts Alliance Leader. Where is their dignity?”

Many people said indignantly to Ning Yuan.

”Mouths belong to others; let them say what they want. No matter how big they make their public opinion, this Jianghu is ultimately ruled by strength. Without enough strength, everything is just vanity.”

Ning Yuan said indifferently.

It was as if he didn’t care about, or even know about, the various remarks, questioning, attacks, doubts, and insults from the Jianghu.

”But Alliance Leader, if we let these people make up stories at will, I fear it will make people think that our Five Mountains Sword Sect is in the wrong, thereby fueling their arrogance!”

Someone shouted excitedly.

”Rest assured, in the end, we must rely on our fists to speak. Once I win at the Martial Arts Assembly, there will naturally be people from various Schools to justify on my behalf.”

Ning Yuan’s words were calm and certain.

Such an attitude actually made the Disciples feel much more at ease.

Their restless moods became calm.

Ning Yuan’s lips curled slightly, revealing a look of confidence.

Not just the Martial Forest, but this world—anywhere there are people, the strong are respected, and the winner is king.

As long as you win, everyone will think you are right. Even if there are things you did wrong, someone will help you explain the reasons.

Then everything will become right.

This is the essence of the world.

”Alliance Leader is indeed wise; we are inferior. With these words from you, we are relieved. It’s just that some Schools are responding so actively, stirring up trouble below, which is truly annoying.”

”It is understandable that they do not want our Five Mountains Sword Sect to dominate alone. Do we really expect them to not even express a little dissatisfaction?”

Ning Yuan smiled indifferently, ”If they really made no sound at all, that would be what makes people suspicious.”

”Go and have someone pass the word down: in one month, the Martial Arts Assembly will be held at Shaolin. We will await the heroes then.”

”Shaolin?”

Hearing that they were to go to Shaolin, the few people present revealed looks of surprise.

Because they all thought that such a grand event should be held at Huashan.

”Of course it’s Shaolin. As the leader of the Righteous Path, Shaolin Temple is the most impartial place. If it were held at our Huashan, it would inevitably lead people to question it, saying it was unfair. But if it is at Shaolin, then no one can say anything.”

Ning Yuan said calmly.

Hearing this, everyone suddenly understood.

”We are dull; the Alliance Leader is wise. If it were held at Huashan, it would easily give people grounds for criticism. At Shaolin, there is no such worry; no one can say anything.”

Soon, the exact date for holding the Martial Arts Assembly spread to the Jianghu and was also communicated to the various Schools.

”The assembly will be held at Shaolin?”

When everyone first heard this news, they were also somewhat stunned, because they all thought Yue Buqun would set the assembly at Huashan.

It’s not that setting it at Huashan would be advantageous to Yue Buqun.

But rather, such a grand event would surely let Huashan go down in history and bring huge prestige to Huashan.

But unexpectedly, Yue Buqun yielded it, doing the opposite, and chose to set it at Shaolin.

As the leader of the Righteous Path in the world, having existed for thousands of years, Shaolin is worthy of being called the enduring pillar of the Martial Forest, and the number of various grand events held at Shaolin is truly not small.

And holding it at Shaolin is indeed more fair.

”Unexpectedly, Yue Buqun would take the initiative to choose the location at Shaolin; it is truly surprising. What on earth is he thinking? Is he really acting for the public good of the world, with no intention of profiting for Huashan?”

Many people were puzzled by this.

They also had to question their previous conjectures.

After all, if Yue Buqun really wanted to profit for Huashan, such a major event should logically be chosen to be held at Huashan, not choosing Shaolin and letting Shaolin benefit.

Holding such a Martial Arts Assembly is something that rarely happens in this Jianghu, often only occurring once every few decades or a century.

And holding one for the purpose of electing a Martial Arts Alliance Leader is even rarer.

Therefore, holding such a grand event will surely be passed down forever in this Jianghu.

”Regardless of what is said, it seems Yue Buqun has made up his mind to hold the Martial Arts Assembly and wants to be this Martial Arts Alliance Leader.”

”Not holding it at Huashan seems to be to avoid giving people grounds for criticism.”

Some smart people guessed Ning Yuan’s thoughts and said directly.

”In that case, is there no room for maneuver? I wonder what Shaolin’s attitude will be?”

Someone couldn’t help but say.

After all, Shaolin is the leader of the Righteous Path; if Shaolin does not agree, one cannot forcibly hold it on Shaolin’s territory, right?

”Shaolin will likely not refuse; after all, this is a great opportunity to re-spread Shaolin’s prestige.”

Someone shook his head and said, ”And even if Shaolin does not agree, there are plenty of places in this world where it can be held; whether Shaolin agrees or not is actually not important.”

”It seems that Yue Buqun is now determined, set in his heart.”

Many people sighed.

In fact, they all knew clearly that this Jianghu has always respected strength.

It sounds nice to call it an election, but if one’s strength cannot convince the masses, naturally one cannot sit firmly in this position.

Therefore, to be the Martial Arts Alliance Leader, one must have sufficient strength to convince everyone.

If you can’t even defeat your subordinates, how can you establish prestige?

Without prestige, your words are a joke.

Your orders, no one will follow.

It will completely become a farce.

Therefore, after learning that the location was chosen at Shaolin, someone soon guessed Ning Yuan’s intention.

Understanding that the other party was determined to be this Martial Arts Alliance Leader.
