The Wizard Has A Biochip

In the ruins, the ground was covered with broken vines.

Ruby had destroyed so many of them that the defensive vegetation had begun to show gaps.

Then a Dark hole appeared, which in this case was the actual entrance. Along with the hole, a gray stone also appeared and moved.

No one noticed, as it advanced slowly.

Raticati’s camouflage ability had completely altered his appearance.

He looked like nothing more than another stone.

But beneath that camouflage, the small Rat was extremely tense.

He carefully avoided the vines while keeping away from the green liquid spreading across the ground.

Little by little, he approached the hole.

Finally, he reached the entrance.

For a few seconds, no one moved.

Then Raticati raised his hand.

And touched the magical necklace around his neck.

If he tried to betray George or deliberately attempted to abandon his mission...

Even from a distance, George would sense it, and all he would need to do was recite a few magical words.

The necklace around his neck would activate.

And his head would be destroyed instantly.

Raticati knew this, so he closed his eyes and breathed, then pushed away all unnecessary thoughts. Then, using an invisibility spell, he entered the hole.

In just five minutes, the Shining Light Giant had been subjected to true torture.

I watched the battle from a distance, my heart tightening.

Despite possessing enough strength to crush a powerful Pseudo-Mage, the Giant also possessed a weakness as obvious as its strength.

Its defense was far too weak.

The vortex of wind that normally circulated around its body could deflect attacks through its powerful airflow. In addition, the Light Shield and golden armor also considerably reduced the strength of enemy attacks.

But facing a true Mage-level demon was completely different.

Especially one whose overall strength was superior to his.

During those five minutes, his magical defense had been destroyed seven times.

And whenever that happened, parts of the Giant’s enormous white body were torn away by the creature’s claws.

Pieces of its body, which normally looked like dense clouds of light, were ripped apart and scattered through the air.

If I hadn’t sent the Black Rock Basilisk to help him at the right moment, I probably would have been forced to sacrifice an entire part of the Giant’s body just to protect its two most important cores.

The Black Rock Basilisk was suffering as well.

Its body was formed from thick and dense underground sedimentary rock. Against an ordinary Pseudo-Mage, this defense would have been enough to withstand several repeated attacks, as long as the enemy didn’t concentrate their strikes on the same spot.

But the Mosquito was not a Pseudo-Mage.

Each of her casual attacks carried terrifying destructive power.

A rain of black arrows fell upon the Basilisk.

It looked as though highly concentrated acid was being poured over its body.

Countless holes appeared.

Entire pieces of rock began to fall away.

The worst part was that the Basilisk didn’t possess enough Earth Element to continuously repair its body.

Without the element acting as a binding agent, some parts simply crumbled apart.

Its body had already shrunk by several sizes.

But the Basilisk wasn’t the main force.

Its role was to assist the Giant.

And yet, even the shockwaves from the battle between those two monsters were enough to nearly destroy it.

This made me understand exactly the kind of pressure the Giant was enduring.

Its once-dense and imposing white body was now filled with holes.

Parts of the Wind Element that made up its body had been torn away.

Some of those parts were still floating around it.

But they had changed.

They were black.

The Mosquito’s mutant energy had contaminated those fragments.

The golden armor was also practically destroyed.

Threads of luminous energy continued to dissipate through the air.

This could only mean one thing.

The Giant’s ability to control its own energy was reaching its limit.

Fortunately, the Mosquito seemed restless, almost desperate, and that caught my attention.

After all, she possessed an absolute advantage. And yet, she was acting like someone who was late for an important appointment.

Every time she found an opportunity to completely destroy the Basilisk, she abandoned the pursuit. Then she turned around and tried to move away.

That’s when I understood.

She was worried about the source of energy hidden beneath the ruins.

That explained her restlessness.

Therefore, I began using a simple strategy.

Covering fire.

For example, the Giant attacked while the Basilisk applied pressure. When the Mosquito tried to escape, I ordered one of them to block her route.

She retreated and counterattacked.

And so we continued.

Even while being desperately pressured by the two of us, the Mosquito simply couldn’t escape.

Until something changed, and the hairs on my arm stood completely on end. A wave of mana appeared.

I looked toward the edge of the forest.

Five figures appeared, and to make matters worse, they were outlaw Pseudo-Mages from DarkGem City.

At that moment, I realized that my plan had a huge blind spot.

I had calculated for the Mosquito.

But I hadn’t anticipated that those five would arrive at exactly that moment.

The Mosquito noticed as well.

Her body stiffened, and she sensed the danger.

For the first time since the beginning of the battle, I had the impression that she had realized she probably wouldn’t be able to drive all those enemies away on her own.

I, on the other hand... was hidden outside the center of the battlefield.

When the five Pseudo-Mages finally entered the battlefield, their expressions changed.

From a distance, they had seen a monstrous battle taking place inside the forest.

They probably imagined that I had gathered a large group of acolytes from the surface to attack the Mosquito.

But when they arrived... They discovered the truth: it was only me and my Golems.

If I continued to grow and continued developing my Golems...

Then, in the future, I would become an even greater threat.

And they couldn’t allow that, so without wasting any time, I sent an order to my Golems.

My order was transmitted immediately.

The Basilisk quickly reached me and opened its enormous mouth and swallowed me. Immediately afterward, the Basilisk dove directly into the ground, and we disappeared.

At the same time, the Shining Light Giant exploded into an intense golden light.

Its body disappeared.

The Mosquito, however, completely ignored the five newcomers.

She anxiously flapped her wings and flew directly back toward the ruins.

Pov Mosquito - Mage Level

The Mosquito finally reached the ruins.

And then she saw the destruction.

The large area of demonic vines had been completely devastated.

Broken branches covered the ground.

Twisted vines were still writhing in their final movements, and a sticky green liquid had spread everywhere.

The Mosquito let out an enraged roar.

She folded her wings.

And dove into the dark entrance.

Beneath the ruins, there had originally been no passage.

When the self-destructing magical array of the Tower of Mages was activated, countless explosions had destroyed the magical equipment.

A large portion of the structure collapsed.

Everything had been buried. But not everything had died.

A Human-Faced Blood Rose, which had originally grown in the Tower’s magical garden, survived the destruction.

That plant creature sensed the enormous amount of Plant Element energy leaking from the depths.

And began digging without stopping, obviously driven by an almost instinctive hunger. It crossed dozens of meters of rubble.

Until it found a broken but still functional Elemental Reservoir.

That was where its existence began to change.

By absorbing that mutant energy, the Blood Rose surpassed limits that ordinary demonic creatures could never overcome.

And eventually became the first demon in that forest to reach the overall strength of a Mage.

But power did not mean knowledge.

This was one of the greatest weaknesses of wild demons.

They could absorb resources and kill to evolve, but they did not possess the magical legacy of human Mages.

Therefore, even when a wild demon reached the same level of strength as a human Mage, it was often still at a disadvantage.

And when its existence was discovered... It became prey.

I knew very well where so many rare materials from the Wizarding World came from.

From the wild demons themselves. Even so, not every foreign species was considered an enemy.

There were intelligent races that had been accepted by human Mages.

Marine species, for example, possessed a number of Mages comparable to that of humans.

There were also other races with unique innate abilities that had been incorporated into the magical world.

The Mosquito herself could have followed this path. If she had found a human family willing to accept her... If someone had taught her the language, customs, and magical knowledge... Perhaps she could have become a true member of the Wizarding World.

But she never had that opportunity. Over time, she came to see every stranger as a threat.

And the underground inhabitants who constantly entered the forest to collect magical materials only reinforced that hatred.

To humans, the Dark Forest was a treasure, but to the Mosquito and the other demons, humans were food.

...

Meanwhile, the Mosquito flew through a narrow tunnel.

She was furious. She wanted to destroy everything and kill everyone.

But first, she needed to ensure the safety of her source.

The tunnel had been excavated by the Mosquito herself. It was narrow and winding. Some passages led to traps. Only one led to her true nest.

After passing through the tunnel, she reached the underground levels of the ancient Tower of Mages.

The first and second floors below ground still possessed some relatively well-preserved magical equipment.

But the storage rooms had been looted long ago.

The Mosquito herself had destroyed the doors.

Invaded the rooms and taken everything she could use.

At the end of the corridor was a spiral stone staircase. The Mosquito descended and reached the second underground floor. That was where her true form was hidden.

She believed herself to be alone, but inside one of the empty stone rooms, in a completely dark corner where no light could reach, a pair of eyes slowly opened.
