The Wizard Has A Biochip

The wind roared in my ears.

My body plummeted through the sky in free fall, while the entire world spun before my eyes.

Above me, the black balloons rapidly grew smaller; below, a sea of mountains and forests approached far too quickly.

I forced my body to rotate in the air.

For a brief moment, I managed to stabilize my position, leaving my feet pointed downward and my torso tilted backward.

I took a deep breath.

It’s... not over yet!

Even while falling, I raised my right hand.

Mana flowed through my arms.

— Light Bow!

Hundreds of golden particles rapidly condensed.

In less than 3 seconds, a translucent bow appeared in my hands.

Another fraction of a second.

An arrow made of pure light took shape.

Even while plummeting at an absurd speed, I pulled the string.

Fwoosh!

The first arrow cut through the skies.

It passed dangerously close to the front balloon.

So close that I saw several acolytes throw themselves aside.

But...

It missed.

”BOOMM~~”

It exploded in the air.

Without hesitation, another arrow was born.

My body continued spinning uncontrollably.

The wind struck against my arms.

My muscles screamed.

Even so...

I took a single breath.

I fired again.

Whoosh!

The second arrow crossed the sky.

It grazed the basket of another balloon.

By less than a meter.

I missed again.

I closed my eyes for a moment.

There was no point anymore.

The distance was increasing far too quickly.

Even a Light spell lost precision in such an absurd situation.

I dispersed the bow.

The golden particles disappeared.

I turned my body again, looking downward.

My carriage.

The horses.

The two enormous chests.

Falling alongside me.

My brain worked desperately.

How do I save the chests?

How do I save the horses?

Is there any way?

Think...

Think, George...

Think!

POV - Black Acolytes

From the top of the main balloon, I remained silent as I watched that young man disappear toward the abyss.

The wind made my black cloak sway slowly.

Around me, several acolytes began laughing.

— It’s over.

— He’s become nothing but a pile of meat.

— That engineer is nothing more than a corpse now.

I raised one hand.

Everyone immediately fell silent.

I continued watching the small metallic figure plummeting downward.

Then I spoke calmly.

— Did you really see what just happened?

They looked at one another.

No one answered.

— That acolyte...

My voice remained cold.

— ...cast two offensive spells while falling at high speed.

— Try to imagine it.

— Would any of you be able to stabilize your own mana while falling hundreds of meters?

No one answered.

Some lowered their heads.

— I’m not even certain I could do it.

— Those two arrows almost hit our balloons.

— With just a little more adjustment, one of you would have died.

I crossed my arms.

— I thought he was just another engineer hiding behind explosive toys.

— But that man fights.

— He thinks during combat.

— Perhaps he is a combat engineer.

None of my subordinates dared to disagree.

They continued looking downward.

Then one of them sighed.

— It’s a shame...

— Those chests...

— They must have been filled with equipment.

— When they hit the ground, everything will become scrap.

I slowly nodded.

— A regrettable loss.

For a few seconds, I remained watching the horizon.

Then I turned around.

— Enough.

— Our true objective is Arcangrove Tower.

I raised my hand.

— Return to formation.

The two remaining balloons began turning through the air.

30 minutes later...

Somehow, my instincts still told me that the engineer I had shot down might be alive.

So I removed an old scroll attached to my belt.

Its paper contained extremely ancient green drawings.

I recited a few words in an elven language.

The scroll glowed.

Emerald runes covered its surface.

The next instant, hundreds of green particles escaped from it.

They began gathering in front of me.

A few seconds later, a small figure appeared floating in the air.

It was a fairy.

Her skin was white as porcelain.

Long green hair danced in the wind.

She wore nothing but a small skirt made of intertwined leaves.

Four delicate transparent wings vibrated so quickly that they produced a soft buzzing sound.

In her hands was a small bow made of living wood.

She landed on the railing of the balloon.

She looked at me.

Simply waiting for orders.

I pointed into the distance, toward where I had brought down the balloon.

— Go.

— If that acolyte survives, find him and kill him!

The fairy tilted her head slightly.

The next instant, she transformed into a green streak crossing the sky.

POV George Gil - Mc

My cloak violently slapped against my armor as my body continued plummeting between the mountains.

The forest formed a massive green carpet interrupted only by gray stone cliffs and deep ravines.

— Biochip!

— Calculate my falling speed.

— Estimate the remaining time until impact.

The world before me was covered with countless blue lines.

Grids appeared over the mountains.

Vectors emerged, indicating my trajectory.

Small luminous points began tracking rocks that were also falling alongside me.

[Beep!]

[Initiating ballistic analysis...]

The Biochip used multiple reference points simultaneously.

First, it measured the angular displacement of the mountains relative to my field of vision.

Then it compared that value with the estimated size of the trees.

Afterward, it used small rocks falling near me as reference objects to calculate relative acceleration.

[Angular velocity: 18.7°/s...]

[Estimating distance through parallax...]

[Correcting trajectory inclination...]

[Estimated local gravity: 9.83 m/s².]

[Air resistance applied to the model.]

[Armor frontal area: 0.91 m².]

[Estimated aerodynamic coefficient...]

The information continued appearing.

A curve began being drawn.

Then another.

Finally, a three-dimensional simulation displayed my predicted trajectory.

The Biochip recalculated dozens of times per second as my speed increased.

[Current speed: 71.4 m/s.]

I continued falling.

.

.

Seconds later...

.

.

[Current speed: 78.9 m/s.]

.

.

The air resistance was slowly beginning to balance the acceleration of gravity.

The speed stopped increasing as quickly.

[Speed stabilizing...]

[Estimated terminal velocity: 84.6 m/s.]

[Estimated time until impact:]

[59s...]

[58s...]

[57s...]

The red timer continued decreasing before my eyes.

[56s...]

[55s...]

I looked downward.

Then at the chests.

At the carriage.

At the horses, desperately neighing as they fell alongside me.

I took a deep breath.

No.

I still had a parachute built into my armor.

It would save my life.

But...

It wouldn’t save anything else.

The horses would die.

The carriage would be reduced to splinters.

The ingredients.

The books.

The crystals.

Everything would be destroyed.

I gritted my teeth.

— Biochip...

— Do you have any ideas?

— Anything.

— I really don’t want to open the parachute now and abandon all of this.

[Beep...]

Silence.

That was rare.

The Biochip normally responded immediately.

Now, however, countless calculations seemed to be running simultaneously.

After approximately two seconds...

The Biochip responded.

[Hypothesis found.]

[Execution probability: 82.7%.]

[Probability of success if executed correctly: 99.4%.]

— Tell me!

The answer appeared immediately.

A holographic image appeared before my eyes.

It was Level Three Acolyte Wesley.

I had once seen him practicing spells. Wesley was in the training area, and while I was passing directly in front of the place, some of Wesley’s friends entered to train alongside him, which allowed me to see that different conjuration from the Hand of Light.

The Biochip retrieved that memory, his gigantic Hand of Light expanding dozens of times beyond its normal size before exploding.

The images began slowing down.

The Biochip completely dismantled the spell.

Layers of mana appeared as if they were transparent muscles.

The internal runes began rotating.

Soon, a technical model emerged.

[Conventional model.]

A luminous hand was formed by condensing mana into a rigid structure.

Energy was distributed evenly between five fingers, the palm, and the wrist.

The spell maintained high magical density to maximize strength and stability.

The hologram changed.

[Alternative hypothesis.]

The rigid structure disappeared.

In its place appeared an internal network resembling the skeleton of a balloon.

Hundreds of tiny luminous filaments appeared intertwined.

The Biochip highlighted specific regions.

[Modify mana feeding sequence.]

[Reduce luminous density by 68%.]

[Increase magical volume using radial expansion.]

[Replace compression with structural support.]

As I watched, the small Hand of Light began to grow.

Not because more mana was being poured into it in a crude manner.

But because the energy stopped being compressed and began forming a massive shell supported by countless internal lines, distributing pressure across the entire surface.

It was practically...

A gigantic light cushion.

Or a massive inflatable hand made of solid energy.

The Biochip continued.

[Principle similar to that previously used by Professor Lucius.]

[Manual alteration of mana flow required during conjuration.]

[Technique requires complete mastery of spell structure.]

A completely insane smile appeared on my lips.

— Holy shit!

— I love you, Biochip!

— You’re incredible!

Without wasting a single second.

I extended my right hand.

Mana flowed through my bones.

I had already practiced that spell thousands of times.

Long before this, I had ordered the Biochip to perform countless artificial experiments, simulating small structural alterations until I completely understood the architecture of the Hand of Light.

In practice...

I knew that spell the way an engineer knows his own machine.

If any other acolyte tried to alter a spell during its casting...

It would explode in their hands.

Or simply fail.

But for me...

It was like modifying a project that I had personally dismantled thousands of times.

Light emerged.

A small glowing hand appeared above my fist.

I didn’t release it.

I continued feeding the spell.

Altering each flow exactly as the Biochip showed me.

The runes began changing.

The internal structure stopped being rigid.

Luminous filaments were born inside it.

More mana.

More expansion.

The hand grew.

It doubled in size.

Then tripled.

The gigantic translucent hand shone beneath the sky.

It no longer looked like a weapon.

It looked like a living platform made of pure light.

It worked!!!!

Carefully guiding the enormous luminous hand.

I first reached one of the chests.

The giant fingers gently closed around it.

Then the carriage.

Then the horses.

Even terrified, I managed to wrap them without crushing them.

Finally, I gathered everything inside the enormous luminous palm.

I breathed a sigh of relief.

Now...

I only needed to save myself.

I brought my left hand to the chest plate of my armor.

I pressed the emergency mechanism.

CLACK!

A sequence of metallic locks released.

A hidden compartment above my back exploded outward.

The enormous parachute was launched.

BOOOOM!

The fabric opened almost instantly.

The deceleration was brutal.

My body was violently pulled backward.

I felt my shoulders almost dislocate.

The entire armor groaned.

CREC!

CLANG!

Several metal plates cracked under the absurd force.

For a moment, I thought it would split in half.

But it endured.

My speed began decreasing rapidly.

The enormous Hand of Light also absorbed part of the inertia from the carriage, the chests, and the horses, distributing the forces throughout its entire magical structure.
