The Versatile Master Artist

In terms of mastery over the anatomical drawing knowledge of people and cat muscles, there are only a few artists in the world who can surpass Gu Weijing.

Even if Tier Two’s sketching skills cannot fully unleash the total power of the knowledge card, it is still very easy to slightly modify Koizumi Katsuko’s drawing.

The draft did not have complicated charcoal shadows, and it was originally drawn very lightly.

Gu Weijing spent a very short time making minor changes to over ten lines, then put down the charcoal pencil and nodded, saying, ”All right, isn’t this a bit better now.”

Koizumi Katsuko stared at the canvas, not speaking for a long time.

Comparison is the fear of everything.

Even if Koshiba Tarou is not proficient with lines, among artists of the same age, his sketches are not something you can’t show off, but when offering his treasure to Koizumi Katsuko, it was pointed out to be full of mistakes.

Miss Shengzi has drawn over a thousand plaster models and live models, and she is quite confident in her ability to depict muscular form.

However, now in front of Gu Weijing, Koizumi Katsuko once again felt the emotional blow of being overshadowed by talent.

It’s hard to say what major changes Gu Weijing made to the line draft.

The canvas still faintly bore the grayish remnants of her original lines before the change.

The new and old lines almost completely overlapped, with only slight differences in curvature and a positional shift of one or two millimeters.

In fact, the main character draft on the canvas had quite good lines from Koizumi Katsuko’s hand.

Any major changes would indeed be strange.

But just these slight shifts made a distinctly different impact in the sketch sample visible to the naked eye.

It’s hard to say what exactly made the difference compared to her previous drafts.

The boy’s adjustments were all minute.

The curvature of Jasmine’s spine was slightly increased, the apex of the instep and toes was lifted by a few millimeters, and there were slight changes in the swinging direction of the cat’s tail and the tangent arc where its ears met its round face.

Amidst these scattered line shifts, the picture suddenly became clear—the draft on the linen canvas came alive like seeing the moon through clouds!

”It’s really like finishing touches on a dragon.”

Koizumi Katsuko hugged Gu Weijing’s arm to her chest and sniffled.

”How can this be finishing touches on a dragon? Compared to true masterpieces that truly bring a whole picture alive, I’ve only adjusted a few lines based on feeling. You had already completed 99% of it; I merely filled in the remaining 1% of insufficiencies.”

Gu Weijing was not being modest.

He had seen true finishing touches on a dragon before.

In the face of the miraculous effects Mr. Cao Xuan made on the murals of the Great Golden Pagoda’s front wall, his actions of adjusting lines by referencing knowledge cards were complimented by his girlfriend as ”finishing touches on a dragon.”

It was somewhat embarrassing like swinging a sword in front of Guan Yu.

Unfortunately,

since Koizumi Katsuko was a girl, she could not enter certain Buddhist Sect temples and areas of the Great Golden Pagoda and thus missed witnessing that incredibly stunning scene first-hand.

”A sketch is a reflection of personal emotions and experience on paper. Your 1% of inspiration is more important than my 99% effort. Compared to the current drafts, my original drawing was merely like plastic mannequins in the department store and the stuffed toy cats sold in shopping malls.”

Koizumi Katsuko earnestly corrected.

She knew that Gu Weijing’s muscle lines were drawn incredibly accurately and well.

But only when he personally adjusted her drawing, did Shengzi clearly feel the difference in their understanding of muscular lines.

A ’real’ and ’alive’ piece of work has a completely different level of attraction to viewers.

This was a difference in perceptual cognition.

Gu Weijing’s few minutes of adjustment enhanced the final effect of this work by at least threefold.

It was precisely because she understood this.

Miss Koizumi Katsuko now curled her toes in her socks out of surprise.

”In the realm of interpreting muscular lines, you are enough to be my teacher.” The skirt-clad girl’s tone untypically bore a few traces of heartfelt admiration.

Love is a mixture of various passions.

Hugo thought it included both the worship of the body and the reverence for the spirit.

For someone as proud as Shengzi.

It’s hard to fall in love with a person, and truly admiring even revering a peer even more challenging.

The more you understand, the prouder you become, scrutinizing the current work, the more one could appreciate those tinges of awe-inspiring terrors.

It’s not terrifying to have shortcomings in one’s work.

The truly scary part was not even realizing there was a problem initially!

Previously, Shengzi felt she had drawn in a very balanced, realistic fashion.

Therefore, the character images on the draft were already at the limit of her capability to depict muscular lines, even her limits of vision and understanding.

Yet, Gu Weijing identified issues. With a casual, nonchalant adjustment, he corrected the problematic lines, drawing an ”instructive drawing.”

Unaware, identifying problems, correcting problems.

These correspond to three completely different realms of mastering drawing anatomy.

The gap between each realm was like clouds and mud.

”I’m very happy to be your girl.” Koizumi Katsuko’s cheeks carried love about to overflow, her eyes gently closed, rubbing against Gu Weijing’s chest.

Finding Shengzi adorable, Gu Weijing couldn’t resist teasing and playfully pinched the girl’s soft earlobe with his fingers.

Koizumi Katsuko blushed.

But she didn’t dodge; instead, she tilted her head slightly, making it easier for Gu Weijing to pinch.

”I’m also very happy to be your boyfriend.”

Gu Weijing found Shengzi to be incredibly amusing, adorably obedient, and couldn’t help but want to take a bite.

He didn’t know.

Actually, it was only in his presence that Miss Katsuko would reveal such a soft and cuddly demeanor.

Koizumi Katsuko was never someone with a soft personality that clung to others like a feather.

She might have a great personality.

Yet in the eyes of others, as the darling daughter of top-tier artists, Shengzi was confident, strong, and unreachable.

Her own brother, Yakai Gangchang, with his flamboyantly dyed hair, might seem rebellious, but in reality, Shengzi could tame him perfectly. Compared to their sharp-tongued mother, Mrs. Sakai, Gangchang was in awe of his sister’s superiority in everything since childhood.

In contrast to his glorious sister, Yakai Gangchang felt he was merely the free bonus with a phone recharge.

The same goes for Fitz School; after the initial curiosity towards the transfer student dissipated, invisible class barriers formed in everyone’s mind.

Whether it was family background, looks, or talent.

In every way, Koizumi Katsuko was so beautifully intimidating with an unapproachable aura.

Even someone slightly more self-conscious might feel uneasy sitting at a table near Shengzi during lunchtime. It was only thanks to some social audacity that fellow female student Koukou, with her thick skin, added Koizumi Katsuko on her chat software.

Like Jerry, a romantic playboy.

He dared to form a band and publicly confess to Mona during the school opening ceremony, yet even he lacked the courage to chat up Miss Sakai.

Koshiba Tarou had known Koizumi Katsuko far longer than Gu Weijing, but alas, he never got the chance to witness Miss Shengzi being so demure and gentle.

Likewise,

Student Koshiba would never believe that the cool goddess he saw as unapproachable would tilt her head, complying for a boy to play with her ear.

Only Gu Weijing could make Koizumi Katsuko show such a stance.

Only this peer, from the very first moment they met, continually provided her with surprises, consistently renewing her perception of him.

This veiled mystery, occasionally revealing awe-inspiring talents she admired, was something only achieved by Gu Weijing among all the males Shengzi had known in her life.

So much so that the girl felt a sense of being conquered.

Thus only Gu Weijing had the fortune and luck to witness such an endearing side of Koizumi Katsuko.

Miss Sakai leaned against Gu Weijing, her entire body tingling with nervousness; she closed her eyes patiently waiting, her heart pounding like a drum.

Seeing Gu Weijing’s hand seemingly preoccupied with playing with her ear.

Koizumi Katsuko reopened her eyes with a mix of thrice the relief and thrice the regret.

Gu Weijing didn’t realize he’d just missed a perfect opportunity to kiss Koizumi Katsuko.

With Miss Sakai’s current mindset, if her boyfriend had indeed gone for a kiss, she likely would not have refused.
