The Versatile Master Artist

He merely informed the HR department that Miss Elina, due to her lack of social experience, was not suitable to continue her work responsible for the visual arts column-related magazine sector and placed her on an indefinite suspension.

In the email,

Sir Brown politely yet somewhat sarcastically suggested that a young girl of her age might be better suited to stay in the ivory tower and could consider pursuing a Master’s degree or something similar.

She was ordered to take a leave!

In the common legal parlance of Europe and America— a ”Garden Leave.”

In Western corporate culture, the management, core staff, or senior employees of a company, due to scandals, non-compete clauses, internal investigations, etc., when deemed unsuitable for their current position,

Are officially placed on forced leave with reasons like ”go for a vacation,” ”spend some time with family,” ”get a pet,” or ”take time to tend to the garden at home,” implying ”you are suspended.”

Sir Brown, through his actions, was stating that the magazine was very unwelcoming toward her.

Anna pondered for a moment, opened the official website of the ”Oil Painting” magazine on her phone, and inputted Detective Cat’s related information, and clicked search.

The buyer’s recommendation concerning Detective Cat, as Sir Brown had mentioned, was wiped clean from the website.

This was a significant blow to the painter’s reputation.

It signified that the painter himself had become irrelevant in the eyes of professional art criticism institutions, not demoted in rating but erased directly.

Anna gazed at the phone screen for several seconds, then opened the WhatsApp chat tool.

She sent a message to Detective Cat.

”If you have truly decided to participate in the new edition of the art criticism salon, then come.”

Facing Detective Cat’s previous request, the girl had not been able to make up her mind.

In her mind, Detective Cat was a master of sketch illustration.

However, aesthetic accomplishment and painting skill have never been directly related.

Internet illustrators inherently lacking is normal, her wanting to become the counterpart’s agent partly stemmed from wanting to gradually guide and cultivate the counterpart’s aesthetic literacy and aesthetic capability.

Given that there was artistic endorsement from an oil painting magazine, there was no need to let the counterpart take the risk of embarrassment because of the unpleasantness between her and Van Doorn.

Besides, many painters are innately taciturn and not good at expressing themselves.

Now, with Chairman Brown having revoked Detective Cat’s recommendation rating, it’s worse than before she didn’t give the counterpart a two and a half stars rating.

It almost validated Van Doorn’s notion of Detective Cat being a monkey without any aesthetic ability.

Suspended Anna couldn’t help the counterpart in any way.

The only thing she could do was provide the counterpart a platform to prove himself.

And the only person who could help Detective Cat,

was herself.

”Don’t overdo it.” Seeing the message sent, she harbored concerns in her heart.

Several days later,

Yangon Fitz International School, the opening ceremony.

”... As per tradition, this year’s school farewell party will be held on May 14th, Rose Valentine’s Day, students in grades 7 to 13 need to prepare formal wear for the party. The softball field on the campus will undergo renovation, suspending its accessibility to clubs. Wearing a black coat, beige knitted shirt, deep blue bow tie meticulously knotted, Miss Mona was delivering the opening speech.

The auditorium was silent.

In Myanmar, there were a total of eight well-reputed international secondary schools, and Yangon accounted for five, among which, the one best known for art education was this British-style private school.

The school is located in the city’s suburbs, covering about 80,000 square meters.

Besides ordinary liberal education, it additionally offers three major categories of artistic courses: classical music, sculpture, and painting.

Miss Mona is the chairperson of the girls’ Student Council in school.

In international secondary schools, the Student Council holds significant authority and is responsible for arranging all aspects of societal activities within the school.

When applying to an outstanding foreign university, besides hard scores, extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, interviews, and even daily societal services are very important.

Sitting in the corner seat at the back of the senior section, Gu Weijing yawned.

He was very familiar with Miss Mona’s fixed content for every year’s opening speech, listening for a while, and seeing that no one noticed, he quietly took out his iPad from his backpack.

Whether it is tuning, painting, or modeling,

Art students often use professional software on tablet computers, so using electronic devices is not prohibited in the school.

Gu Weijing opened the official Apple podcast, clicked on the private station in the favorites— [Artists Review By Mr. Folivora].

The page jumped to enter Mr. Tree Sloth’s podcast channel.

The background poster on the channel’s homepage was Van Gogh’s famous painting, ”Starry Night,” and the host’s photo column was a fat sloth with palm-like colored fur.

Below was the podcast rating.

Currently displaying a total of 190,000 subscribers, more than 40,760 ratings, with a composite score of 4.8.

In the art podcast domain, this rating and popularity are already quite commendable, even surpassing the NBC (National Broadcasting Corporation)’s ”Voices of Art” in this week’s category ranking.

The podcast homepage had updated a new station poster—[Art Salon Series Episode 9: When Classical Encounters Modern, discussing the light and shadow of painting art with Director Tankis of the Taylor National Art Gallery and online illustrator Detective Cat (next Tuesday at 8 p.m., be timely online)]
