The Versatile Master Artist

Chapter 77: Chapter 69: A Beautiful Rich Woman Takes a Liking to Me

”I’d like to have a chat with you, five hundred euros an hour, is that okay?”

Who is this, are they crazy!

Seeing this message, Gu Weijing sitting in front of the computer was speechless.

Initially, Gu Weijing found the other party’s words strange and hesitant. Now he judged that he had encountered yet another peculiar person offering online adult chat services.

Moreover, the price was excessively... absurdly high.

Five hundred euros an hour, who does this person think they are?

Miranda Kerr or Jessica Alba?

An undercover Hollywood gossip reporter once exposed a price list, where even dining for three hours with certain supermodels with gray income, the so-called yacht girls, only cost 2K euros.

Of course, that’s just for dinner.

If you want to head out to sea, the price ranges between 12.5K and 30K, but that’s the rate of a legitimate supermodel who walks the runway during fashion week.

And just to chat with this person, they charge ten dollars per minute?

Considering his current profile settings, the person might very well be a male escort.

But even if the person is more handsome than Tom Cruise, the price is just absurd.

How dare they!

”Sorry, I’m not interested in ’dating’ online.”

Anna stared at the message from Detective Cat, stunned for a good two seconds.

As she finally realized that her hesitant reply could easily cause misunderstandings.

Her pale face instantly flushed as if she was changing faces.

Ka-da—

She almost spilled her coffee on the computer, covering her face with her hands, her ears turning crimson.

It was so embarrassing, too embarrassing, truly a shameful mistake.

This was her first conversation with the Van Gogh she found in her heart, and it ended up being such an awkward blunder.

”I can’t live anymore—”

Even the usually mentally strong Anna felt like she was collapsing, she wanted to find a hole to crawl into.

”Wait... sorry, I didn’t make it clear, I was going to pay you.”

Gu Weijing was about to delete, block, and report for sexual harassment like he handled similar situations before when he saw this new message on the screen.

This time it was his turn to be stunned.

”Just chatting?”

”Just chatting.”

”Are you sure you’re serious? Not joking, just to clarify, no matter what push-and-pull tricks you’re playing. I won’t buy virtual currency, accept gambling ads, or act as a shady proxy...”

Gu Weijing listed all the usual scams on Nutshell.

If the other person was a scammer, they should have given up by now.

”Of course. I’ll pay for four hours upfront, does that suit you?” The other party replied promptly.

Ding ding...

At this moment, a notification came from his phone.

He checked his phone and saw someone had transferred two thousand euros to his online Paypal account.

A whole two thousand euros!!!

Their family’s art shop might not even make that much in an entire month.

The other party just casually transferred this to him.

What is the intention here?

Not a scam, could they be interested in him?

”I won’t turn on the camera.”

Gu Weijing indicated that he had boundaries.

”No need for you to turn on the camera.”

”You can’t turn on your camera either.” Gu Weijing thought of those crazy fans who streak in front of celebrities’ homes, and he quickly added.

Now that he had gained some fame online, what if the other party was a peculiarly inclined exhibitionist.

”I...”

The other person seemed speechless: ”Rest assured, I really just want to add you as a friend and chat casually.”

”Why?”

With such a straightforward transfer, Gu Weijing was rather apprehensive.

When something seems unusual, it’s usually not a good sign.

It wasn’t paranoia on his part, but rather, someone wanting to chat with him, offering such generous pay made him vigilant.

What could the other party want from him?

And what could he offer them?

Five hundred euros an hour.

It’s not that he’s narrow-minded, but even the parents of those rich second-generation classmates at their school, who are executives in foreign companies, only earn tens of euros per hour.

In the gray industry of Southeast Asia, escort services for foreign tourists are well developed, the so-called escort girlfriends.

A regular girl just costs about fifty euros a day, which is already many, many times the average wages there.

What could you gain from hiring an escort girl for a few hundred euros?

With five hundred euros, you could hire a pretty local girl who looks like she stepped out of a photo, for a whole day, well-educated, fluent in English or French, conversant about Myanmar’s history, Maum’s novels, and behaves with grace in high-end restaurants, never letting you down.

Not just companion conversation, dining, and fun, but also sleepovers, providing both mental and physical satisfaction.

What could the other party gain from chatting with someone like him, who only knows how to paint?

Does Gu Weijing copy keys?

How many?

”Lady Detective Cat, please don’t worry, I mean no harm. I’m just an ordinary fan who, after watching Mr. Hibernian’s channel, really liked your work—”

Anna regained her composure and lifted her finger to hover over the keyboard, pondering briefly.

She knew many master artists are introverted, shy, and solitary with social anxiety, and being overly enthusiastic might scare them away.

After pondering for a moment, she came up with a new idea.

”Actually... I’m also a podcast host. Before, when I saw you, a ten-dollar online illustrator, creating such impressive work in Mr. Hibernian’s video,

I was deeply fascinated and a bit curious about online illustrators, wanting to learn more about you if convenient?”

Podcast host?

Gu Weijing was a bit surprised, but also quite enlightened.

Podcasting has become a popular social media format in recent years, a kind of private radio station.

Compared to entertaining short videos, it’s deeper and more insightful.

The podcast concept has become very hot over these years, seeing many celebrities and tycoons start their own podcasts. Many major figures, who may dislike appearing in entertainment TV shows, love to participate in podcast recordings.

If your podcast is done well with a strong response, you might even invite guests you never dared to dream of.

A music podcast with hundreds of thousands of followers invited the guitarist May from Queen, a science podcast invited a Nobel laureate for popular science, an economics podcast invited Buffett...

In professional fields, this kind of private radio has become as important a media channel as professional magazines.

Even Bill Gates mentioned listening to related podcasts has become a part of his daily life and a crucial channel for learning new knowledge.

The top podcasts on the Apple podcast bestseller charts earn tens of thousands of dollars per episode without accounting for ads.

Currently, he is a hot topic.

Some well-produced podcast programs might indeed be willing to spend five hundred euros per hour to interview and understand him, which isn’t impossible.

”What do you need to interview me about?”

”Just chat like friends. You can add my Whatsapp (international WeChat) work account [Mr. Folivora].”

Anna thought for a moment, still a bit unwilling to give up, biting her lip as she typed:

”Plus, actually... I have a friend who prefers to remain anonymous, who really, really wants to be your agent...”
