Chapter 528: Changing the battlefield!

Sheyan’s calmness caused Ammand to feel unwell, as he inhaled deeply before exhaling again. For some unknown reason, his heart flushed with an ominous sensation.

Evidently, Harrod could sense that something was amiss. As blood vapor deeply assimilated into his body, the enshrouding blood vapour around him gradually thinned out. Then, a churning gust of blood mist billowed out his nostrils; as though foreshadowing the coming storm of summer, where dark clouds encompassed the skies. His bloodied breath was dense like an impending hurricane.

In a flash, Harrod raised his dual-handed greatsword. Vividly seen on both hands grabbing onto the greatsword shaft, a layer of crystalline ice resembling a pair of glacic gloves had formed!

A dense layer of white mist covered the greatsword, before morphing its sword blade into a colourless transparent shade as it emitting freezing creaks into the atmosphere.

Over this pitch-black sea surface, the greatsword swept down like a lightning bolt, as it heavily beheaded down onto Sheyan. Trailing the trajectory of the chopping greatsword, a puzzling afterimage of two intertwined pythons tearing at each other could be seen!

Sheyan immediately hurled out a flask of curse-mix. Chartreuse fumes fogged out like a cloud, before adhering onto Harrod.

To his horror, the rummaging blood vapors instantly churned and cleansed out the effects of Sheyan’s curse-mix! On this very blood boat, actually contained a special property that could purify abnormal buffs on Harrod’s body.

Fortunately, the 1 second stunning shockwave of the curse-mix was an instant effect and remained effective; forcefully halting Harrod’s attacking momentum.

At this moment, a resplendent blue radiance flashed out as Sheyan pulled out his saber with both hands, blocking his front in the nick of time.

Sparks scattered as Harrod’s greatsword chopped down; the dazzles of their clash momentarily blinding the eyes of the onlookers!

”Weird...”

Possessing an abundance of combat experience, the surrounding spectators could observe that Sheyan possessed exceptionally brutish strength as well; with his body merely flinching slightly upon receiving a chop from Harrod’s greatsword. It was as though he could handle it with ease. Yet because of that, they become perplexed as to why Sheyan’s fighting manner was so passive.

Back when Harrod was about to swipe down, he had distinctively revealed a massive opening. If Sheyan had seized that opening to attack, he would’ve dealt a severe damage to Harrod! According to common logic, once Harrod suffers the first injury, his combat might against Sheyan would be lowered greatly!

Instead, Sheyan passively allowed this glorious opportunity to slip away, and stubbornly maintained his unyielding defensive posture to express his guarding determination.

Sheyan scanned his opponent seriously, watching him puff out thick blood vapor. Then, he smirked as his hands gradually tightened around the saber shaft of his ‘+7 West’, with his curved fingers tightening and loosening repeatedly.

”Come again, that blade of yours was thriving with vigor but lacking in speed.”

Sheyan gently advised like a teacher tutoring his disciple.

Harrod remained silent as his expression was masked within the blood vapor, as sparks of electricity jolted between their stares.

Within a split second, Harrod lurched forth once again.

Wherever he trampled over, a tiny blood vortex would take shape. In contrast, those outstretched blood palms only served to propel his step forward, greatly enhancing his agility!

Shua! Shua! Shua! Harrod consecutively hacked three times with his greatsword! Every swipe brimmed with intent to devastate his prey. He had utterly forsaken his personal defence, as he showered his opponent with ferocious damages.

Despite that, Sheyan calmly stood where he was, like a mountain range, as he swung forth with his saber and blocked against the incoming swipes of Harrod’s greatsword. With Sheyan’s present 49 boundary strength, it definitely wouldn’t be an easy feat to shake him.

”Is the boss waiting for that?” Brother Black frowned as he questioned.

What his words was referring to, was clearly the ‘Zergling Rush’ of Sheyan’s armour.

One must understand, whenever Sheyan resisted the enemy’s onslaught with his saber, he would equally receive a fixed damage. By observing the monstrous ferocity of Harrod’s swiping greatsword, one could imagine his attacks possesses absolute might. Although relying on his weapon to block would reduce the damage received, it was definitely not something he could endure in the long run.

At present, Reef spoke pensively as he spectated the battling scene.

”I’m afraid boss has an underlying goal for doing this.”

As he faced the obstinately defending Sheyan, Harrod burst into a sudden fit of laughter into the sky.

”I would never have anticipated that someone would employ such a foolish method against me. Fine then, since you fear the terrifying might of a berserker, carry on resisting then! Let’s see if you can waste away my strength first, or I will chop you to death on this blood boat!”

As it turns out, the terrifying combat prowess of a berserker mostly resided in their dauntlessness in the face of getting wounded. In fact, the heavier their wounds, the stronger they become!

This logic was akin to a beast becoming more dangerous when injured. To such brutes who converted their agony into battle strength, the lower their HP, the higher their attack prowess became.

The reason that Sheyan remained unfazed even when observing the manifold exposed openings of Harrod, was because he understood this logic.

Once the berserker becomes bathed in blood and wounds, he would on the contrary, fly into a berserker rage. Hence, Sheyan remained unyielding as he maintained defence in place of offence; not desiring to allow Harrod the opportunity to display his greatest strength.

However, it remains that Sheyan’s method was limited. Such a conduct was utterly akin to stopping one’s thirst by the senseless measure of drinking poison. Such was his conduct of forsaking offense while focusing solely on defence.

Furthermore, his nimbleness had been totally suppressed by this blood boat! Such a method would only be successful if this was a battle of endurance, or a bet of how many slashes one could endure from the opponent. Instead, this current combat with Harrod could only be resolved by one party’s death!

Putting it bluntly, if this persisted, Sheyan was simply abandoning his hopes for survival by exchanging it to stay alive for an extra few minutes. If he refused to place his all to wrestle for a fighting chance, his only outcome would be death.

Harrod laughed manically while he continued chopping down his greatsword with unmatched ruthlessness. His onslaught was practically like a raging storm, sparing no breathing space for his opponent.

The onlookers speculated with cold sweat trickling down their raised hairs. It was needless to say how Sheyan, who was personally experiencing this combat, was feeling.

Suddenly, a blue current jolted through Sheyan’s body.

A familiar scene understood by both Mogensha and Reef – the signal that his ‘Zergling Rush’ had been activated.

At this instance, the ever defending Sheyan had undoubtedly been awaiting for this passive ability to be triggered. What would he do next? To immediately counter-attack, or continue stubbornly in guarding??

Following the activation of ‘Zergling Rush’, Sheyan pulled out ‘Ambition’!!

Due to the long cooldown interval of ‘Ambition’, the ‘Zergling Rush’ ability wasn’t compatible and wouldn’t be triggered by it. Hence, Sheyan straightforwardly employed the ability of ‘Ambition’ – ‘Rum & Songs’!!

The seas surged violently at this instance, as the black barrel of this musket spat out a fiery tongue.

Boom! A lead bullet punctured into Harrod as it struck him into a stunned state. Regiments of black fumes fumigated out of the musket’s muzzle, as it wrapped around the stunned Harrod.

Yet simultaneously, Harrod’s greatsword cleaved against Sheyan’s right shoulder while he was unable to block.

A depressing muffle of blade cleaving into flesh and bone resounded out.

Blood gushed out violently! Spraying everywhere, yet before it could splash onto the floor, his blood coagulated into chunks of red ice as it pelted onto the boat!

In spite of that, Sheyan maintained his demeanor as a deep-blue blade ray flashed out from his ‘+7 West’ saber that had reappeared in his hand; carrying an engulfing might that slashed from top down.

Yet its target, was shockingly the area beneath Harrod – the keel of this blood boat!

Indeed, right from the start, Sheyan had fixated his objective as this mysterious blood boat!!!

Harrod had demanded for combat on this blood boat without accepting any compromise. This indicated that the homeground advantage it supplied would be tremendously incredible, and as it turns out, the facts spoke for itself.

The blood vapor lingering on this blood boat could greatly stifle enemies, while neutralizing the negative buffs of allies. Moreover, it could greatly strengthen the might of allies, and presumably, it would further possess the special property of rapid regeneration during the latter stages of the fight.

Sheyan was an individual who normally defies the conventional way of thinking. Hence, he needed to first get those vikings to swear an oath, to prevent them from violating their words.

”A berserker multiplies in strength with every injury eh? Then I shall refrain from injuring you. Let me first wreck this boat of yours and alter the state of this battlefield!”

Yes, the battlefield he selected was indeed the deadly ocean of thousand sharks!!

For such a battle, even if Harrod was equally familiar with fighting inside the water, he could at most rival Sheyan evenly.

On the contrary, the encircling manifold sharks within wouldn’t possess an immense threat to Sheyan, because Sheyan’s current defence reduction had already attained 51%.

Furthermore, he possessed the 40 damage absorption of his innate ability ‘Stronghold’. Hence, he reckoned the damage dealt to him by the sharks, would definitely not be too severe!

Instead, for a berserker like Harrod, he was all along a model that emphasised on unparalleled offense but weak defence. With the insatiable chomps of fervent sharks, their threat to him would be fatal!

At present, as the pirates became aware of his intentions through this twist in development, their hearts subconsciously swelled up with a wave of chill. Such shrewdness displayed in the breadth of his mind! It truly left them shivering in fear!
