The Sinful Young Master

Chapter 402: I want to become the Emperor

”But you’re not,” Jolthar said, understanding dawning.

”Not even remotely,” Milan confirmed.

”I’ve spent twenty years building a network of loyal people who share my vision—not for personal power, but for what the empire could become. I’ve studied the weaknesses of every other claimant to the throne. I’ve identified the power brokers who could be swayed, the traditions that could be leveraged, and the moments of crisis that create opportunities for regime change.”

He looked at both of them and said, ”You don’t know what I had to go through, what my brother had to deal with while we grew up. The woman who gave birth to me, my mother, I considered her my mother. She had gone through a lot of traumatic experiences that would kill most women, but she endured it for me and my brother. The women in the harem, they are so wicked to the point that it was hard to call them human. They made sure my mother doesn’t have any more children, you know that, and they had done it right in front of my eyes.”

”I used to tell myself it was only a fantasy. A world stitched from ink and sleepless nights. None of it was real. None of it could hurt me. That is what I believed.

But somewhere between the battles and the blood, between the whispered prophecies and the sound of my mother’s silent cries, something changed.

I stopped pretending.

It was no longer a story. It was my world. My empire.

And in this world, justice was not a prayer. It was something you took with your own hands.

I was going to get justice for my mother. Even if I had to burn the heavens to do it.”

Milan stared into the distance, he could feel his heart pound faster, the memories of his childhood replayed in front of his eyes once again.

He breathed in heavily and let out a sigh.

He stood and began pacing, his passion for the subject evident.

”The entire imperial family and the imperial throne, the emperor’s court and its ministers—they are all a bunch of greedy, evil people who do nothing but toy with the people below them.”

”They are all a herd of hypocrites who would kill a man just for their amusement.”

”So what do you want to do then?” Jolthar asked as Milan was being silent.

”I want to tear apart this imperial rot from its roots. Too many fat dogs sit in silk halls, stuffing themselves with the people’s coin while the streets starve. I will not tolerate it anymore.

I will hunt every last one of them down. Not out of anger — out of necessity.

And when the throne finally stands empty, I won’t hesitate. I will take it.

Not for power. For change.

This empire will become something better... even if I have to break it first.”

Nora was staring at him with something approaching awe.

”That’s... that’s actually incredible. Insane, but incredible.”

”It’s both,” Milan admitted with a slight smile.

”Which is why I’ve never told anyone before. The moment I reveal my true ambitions, I become a target for everyone who benefits from the current system.”

Jolthar had been listening carefully, watching Milan’s expressions, hearing the conviction in his voice. This wasn’t a fantasy or delusion. Milan had clearly thought this through, planned meticulously, and was deadly serious about his goals.

And Jolthar understood something else too.

Milan had stood by him when the ministers had cornered him with their rigged trial. He had intervened publicly, risking his own reputation and safety, because it was the right thing to do. That kind of integrity was rare in any world.

”Prince Milan,” Jolthar said, his voice carrying absolute sincerity, ”if you ever start your race to become Emperor, I will stand by your side.”

Milan turned to look at him, clearly surprised.

”You... you’d support me?”

”Without hesitation,” Jolthar confirmed.

”I can see fire in your eyes when you are talking about those imperial ministers. And I really like that.”

”You’re an exceptional individual, Milan. You proved that when you helped me despite having nothing to gain and everything to risk. You have vision, integrity, and the intelligence to actually achieve what you’re planning.”

He smiled slightly.

”Besides, if anyone from Earth is going to reshape this world, I’d rather it be someone I trust than some random protagonist who thinks overwhelming power solves everything.”

”I don’t know what to say,” Milan admitted, clearly moved.

”You don’t need to say anything yet,” Jolthar replied.

”Just know that when the time comes, Tekkora and its resources are yours to call on.”

Nora had been watching this exchange with mixed emotions.

”You realize this could get you both killed, right? The imperial succession is a blood sport. People die. Entire families are eliminated.”

”I’m aware,” Milan said quietly.

”And you’re still willing to try?”

”I have to,” Milan replied simply.

”Because someone has to change things, and I have the knowledge and position to do it. The question isn’t whether it’s dangerous—it’s whether I’m brave enough to try despite the danger.”

Jolthar turned to Nora with a slight smirk.

”What about you, daughter? Will you support your father in his questionable political allegiances?”

Nora’s face immediately scrunched up in disgust.

”Ugh, please don’t call me that. And definitely don’t call yourself my father. You’re mentally younger than me by at least five years.”

”Doesn’t change the facts,” Jolthar teased.

”I’m with your mother. That makes me your—”

”Don’t you dare finish that sentence,” Nora warned, though there was reluctant amusement in her eyes.

”This is exactly why I cringe every time you make that joke.”

”It never gets old, though,” Jolthar replied with a grin.

”It absolutely gets old,” Nora muttered.

Then she sighed and looked at Milan seriously.

”To answer your question—yes, if you’re serious about this, I’ll support you too. Not because I’m convinced you can win, but because your vision for the empire is better than anything the current front-runners would create.”

She paused.

”And because apparently I’m surrounded by insane reincarnators who make terrible life choices.”

”Hey,” Jolthar protested.

”My life choices are excellent.”
