The Quest for Immortality

Elder Master Xun just looked at Mo Hua, slowly advising:

”Child, the path of Tao cultivation is unpredictable. I can’t set a framework for you, you must plan well for yourself. Just remember, make sure to consider carefully, avoid haste, avoid being reckless, and do not harm your foundation.”

Mo Hua felt touched in his heart and cupped his hands in salute, ”Yes.”

Elder Master Xun pondered for a moment, suddenly remembered something, and said:

”A while back, I asked the Sect Leader to prepare something for you. I imagine it will be of use to you. Go and find him.”

”The Sect Leader?” Mo Hua was taken aback.

”Hmm.” Elder Master Xun nodded.

Mo Hua stood up, sincerely saluted Elder Master Xun deeply one more time, turned around and left, but when he reached the doorway, he froze again.

Crossing this threshold meant he probably wouldn’t return again. The next time he saw Elder Master Xun, who knows when that would be.

Mo Hua’s heart ached sourly. He turned his head to glance at Elder Master Xun.

Elder Master Xun gently waved his hand, kindly saying, ”Go on.”

Mo Hua’s eyes grew slightly moist, he nodded, taking one last look at Elder Master Xun, imprinting his image in his heart, before he turned sorrowfully and left.

...

In the pavilion of the library.

Mo Hua visited the Taixu Sect Master alone to convey his request.

The Taixu Sect Master took out a wooden box, handing a white jade scroll inside to Mo Hua.

Mo Hua was somewhat puzzled, ”This is?”

The Taixu Sect Master said, ”Wooden White Gold Jade Body.”

”Wood White Gold Jade?” Mo Hua frowned.

The Taixu Sect Master explained:

”The Wooden White Gold Jade Body, with wood white as marrow and golden jade to forge bones, is an alternate body forging method of ’Copper Skin and Iron Bone.’ It is also one of the supreme secret techniques passed down in my family. Typically, non-direct lineage, not of extraordinary background, cannot practice this inheritance.”

”Previously, Elder Master Xun entrusted me to specially request this Wooden White Gold Jade Body from the family. By rights, this body should have been given to you earlier.”

”Unfortunately, there are many rules in the family, and this inheritance is rather precious, not easy to obtain.”

”I went through considerable trouble to borrow this secret technique from the family’s Taoist Repository, but it did cause some delay.”

Mo Hua felt grateful, cupping his hands in salute, ”I am very grateful for the trouble the Sect Leader went through.”

The Taixu Sect Master laughed, ”You have done more for Taixu Gate than I have. In truth, I as the Sect Leader should be grateful to you.”

After all, without Mo Hua, the Three Sects might not have merged.

Taixu Gate wouldn’t have become the First Major School of Qianxue either.

He wouldn’t have become the Sect Leader of the First Major School of Qianxue either.

Even though this First Major Sect has some added value, it is still the first. It just needs time to settle properly.

Achieving the first place is the contribution of disciples like Mo Hua.

Stabilizing that first place and allowing Taixu Gate to flourish is the responsibility of him as the Sect Leader and other elders.

Mo Hua also smiled, suddenly a bit worried, he asked:

”Sect Leader, will there be any trouble for you, taking this secret technique from your family for me to learn?”

The Taixu Sect Master said, ”Since I’m giving it to you, naturally, there won’t be any trouble. Just rest assured and learn. I do have some status in the family.”

Mo Hua nodded, suddenly curious, ”Sect Leader, you mentioned this secret technique is from your family. So you... are also from a Great Family?”

The Sect Leader nodded, ”Exactly.”

”Which family?” Mo Hua asked curiously.

The Taixu Sect Master said indifferently:

”Bai Family.”

Mo Hua was stunned, his emotions surging like tumultuous waves in an instant.

Then the Taixu Sect Master realized, ”Oh, right, I don’t think I have mentioned this to you... My surname is Bai, and I hail from the Bai Family, a prominent family in Qian State.”

Mo Hua murmured, ”Bai... Family...”

The Taixu Sect Master nodded, ”Qianlong Ancient Spirit Vein, the supreme land, Sixth Grade Ancestor Dragon state boundary, Bai Family.”

Sixth Grade... Ancestor Dragon state boundary, Bai Family.

Mo Hua was stupefied, his mind shaking, unable to calm down for a long time.

The Taixu Sect Master... is a member of the Bai Family?!

The Taixu Sect Master glanced at Mo Hua, seeing his expression full of shock, somewhat in a daze, he found it odd.

This child, rarely appears dazed.

”Do you... know of the Bai Family?” the Taixu Sect Master asked.

Mo Hua quietly replied, ”Heard of it... a little...”

The Taixu Sect Master didn’t think much of it.

The Bai Family of Qian State is a truly flourishing Sixth Grade Great Family, rarely appearing in public view.

Being a flourishing Great Family, being known is quite normal.

Of course, knowing is entirely different from actually being able to engage with it.

The Taixu Sect Master looked warmly at Mo Hua, his eyes full of regard:

”If you have time in the future, visit the Bai Family. I will be your host and entertain you well.”

”Okay... Thank you, Sect Leader...”

Mo Hua’s expression was complex, and somewhat peculiar.

As the Sect Leader, he had many sect affairs to handle, and Mo Hua didn’t want to impose too much. He then rose to take his leave. As he left the library, he turned and saw Big White, habitually giving its fluffy neck a fond rub, feeling something subtle in his heart.

”The Sect Leader is from the Bai Family, then this Big White...is also a Bai Family dog?”

Big White wagged its tail, smug and extremely proud.

Mo Hua sighed, patting its head, saying, ”I am going to leave the Sect now, you’ll have to play by yourself in the future.”

Big White seemed to understand Mo Hua’s words, it immediately froze, then involuntarily drooped its head, no longer as spirited.

Mo Hua sighed, then took out a few bones, secretly giving them to it, ”I’m leaving these for you, ration them.”

Big White chewed on the bones, smelling the scent of demon monsters inside. Clearly a delicious treat, yet it couldn’t bring itself to feel joy.

Mo Hua patted Big White’s head lastly, murmuring, ”Fate will bring us together again...” and then turned to leave.
