The Quest for Immortality

As I thought of slicing outward, ultimately, this sword remained within my own Sea of Consciousness.

Contrasts give birth to existence, and difficulty complements ease.

Inside and outside are also relative.

If I cannot slice outward, then let me slice inward—was this sword cutting my own ”Divine Soul”?

No, it wasn’t a simple ”cut,” but a connection between the Divine Soul and reality?

The eyes are the windows to the Divine Soul.

So if I strike at the Divine Soul, does it mean transmitting the Divine Thought to the eyes, using them as windows to truly ”emerge”?

Mo Hua speculated inwardly. .

He was unsure, but after a moment’s hesitation, he decided to give it a try.

Failure is the mother of success. Cultivation of any spell point is always accompanied by multiple failures, and only by numerous trials and errors can one find the correct path.

After all, ”cutting oneself” is something he has already grown accustomed to.

Tai Xu Sword Intent seeks to cut the ego; Supreme Emotion Cutting aims to sever human desires; now with the Godslaying Sword, cutting himself doesn’t seem too big a deal...

Mo Hua’s thoughts shifted, and with a solemn expression, he began to reverse the Giant Sword towards himself.

However, as the edge of the sword turned, the overwhelming Sword Intent directed at himself, Mo Hua instantly felt the pressure of impending life and death.

As if with this sword, he was destined to die.

Mo Hua was about to disperse the Godslaying Sword immediately, but at the next moment, he forcibly stopped himself.

”Fear is nothing but an unnecessary emotion.”

”Supreme Emotion Cutting should also cut away ’fear.’”

”The Godslaying Sword is a creation of my Divine Soul, my understanding of Dao, my Sword of Divine Thought. My sword cannot kill me.”

Mo Hua held firm in his beliefs, his heart as steadfast as Goldstone, unwavering even when facing the mighty Godslaying Sword capable of cleaving Evil Embryos.

”Cut!”

Mo Hua gave a light shout.

The enormous Godslaying Sword slashed down with a thunderous force, as if a celestial river cascaded down towards Mo Hua himself.

Mo Hua’s gaze remained unchanged, his will as firm as iron, unafraid.

And indeed, the Godslaying Sword did not actually cut him but, at the moment of contact, cut into his Divine Soul.

In an instant, Divine Thought twisted, mingling illusion and reality.

Mo Hua seemed to touch a layer, a barrier of illusion and reality, sensing the gap between them.

The boundary between illusion and reality was too profound for him to see through or break apart this gap.

But the merging of illusion and reality was himself, his own Sea of Consciousness.

He could use himself as a medium, his eyes as apertures, to transmit his ”illusory” Divine Thought into the ”real” real world.

Mo Hua pointed his finger at the center of his brow, channeling the Sword Intent within his Sea of Consciousness.

A moment later, he suddenly opened his eyes.

In his eyes, sword light was dazzlingly bright, filled with a tremendous sword light as vast as the Milky Way, embodying various Sword Daos like Gold-breaking, Mountain Opening, Gui Water, and Li Fire, displaying vibrant colors in motion. ᚱ𝒶ŊỒᛒÊʂ

Tai Xu Sword Intent floated silently in the background.

Supreme Emotion Cutting, no self, no life.

Mo Hua’s expression was indifferent, and the surrounding atmospheric changes began to occur.

The big white dog, who was dozing off nearby, suddenly jumped up in shock, eyes wide with disbelief at Mo Hua.

The time was ripe, enlightenment was on the verge.

Mo Hua pointed his fingers at his brow, the Sword of Divine Thought channeled through his eyes, then his eyes shone sharply. Mo Hua pointed forward with two fingers, and the Godslaying Sword Intent emerged from his eyes, breaking through the space in the direction he pointed, pressing forward relentlessly.

The big white dog was so shocked that its fur stood on end, its tail bristled upward.

Then a surge of Divine Thought churned and changed...yet nothing happened.

Despite the astonishing aura, the profound spell point, the strong and powerful Divine Thought, the extremely sharp sword technique, nothing happened upon execution.

Or rather, he never actually executed it.

The grass was still grass, without a leaf fallen.

The tree was still a tree, leaving not a single scratch.

The flowers and plants all around remained lush and vibrant, flourishing as before.

The big white dog stared for a long time, realizing it was just a false alarm, its upright tail drooping down, and its furry body lay back on the ground.

Mo Hua also collapsed onto the grass, feeling a bit disheartened.

”Why is it still not working?”

”I’ve mastered the spell of soul emergence; why can’t this sword emerge?”

Unconvinced, Mo Hua wanted to practice again, but as soon as he stood up, he felt dizzy and fell to the ground once more.

His Sea of Consciousness throbbed with pain, his eyes full of blood threads, somewhat swollen.

”Practiced too much, it’s starting to rebound...”

The Godslaying Sword was too powerful, the Divine Thought too strong, and forcibly using ”the eyes” for emergence was too burdensome on the eyes.

”Can’t practice anymore, need to rest...”

Mo Hua quickly sat up, meditating to recover his Divine Sense, while taking some pills to nourish Blood Qi and clear his mind and eyes.

After recuperating, his Divine Sense restored and his eyes clearer, Mo Hua finally opened his eyes.

”Still not working.”

Mo Hua pondered. But in the short term, he had no way to practice the emergence of the Godslaying Sword again. Moreover, it was almost mealtime; time to eat.

”Let’s go back...”

Mo Hua packed his things, called out, ”Big white dog, let’s go back,” and got up to leave. After a few steps, he turned around, seeing the big white dog still lying on the ground.

”Big white dog?”

The big white dog glanced sideways at Mo Hua, ignoring him, turning its head and continuing to doze off, seemingly a bit angry.

Mo Hua understood why it was upset, sighed, and explained: ”How many times have I told you, it’s not that I deliberately want to steal food.”

”Nor is it that I don’t bring you when eating good stuff...”

”Those things, you can’t digest...”

”It’s all Divine Remains, too unclean, giving it to you could cause problems...”

”Next time, next time when there’s good food, I’ll definitely bring you along.”
