The Quest for Immortality

Mo Hua isn’t worried about the situation on the island.

Firstly, in this operation, he was ”borrowing power”, relying on the Taoist Court’s strength to eradicate these water bandits.

The Xia family is not yet his concern.

Another reason is because of the formation.

The formation on the island uses the formation principles of the Eight Gates and Eight Trigrams, with an exquisite design.

However, the Formation Master’s skills were insufficient, and the solitary, deserted island offered limited conditions, resulting in a relatively crude formation.

The layout used the Eight Gates as a framework, but the internal Eight Trigrams Array was cut corners.

Though there are Eight Gates, there are no Eight Trigrams.

A complete Eight Trigrams Formation is very difficult to assemble.

Li Fire, Kan Water, and Gen Mountain are better, having commonalities with the usual Five Elements Formation, making them easier to learn.

However, the other trigrams, like the Zhen Hexagram symbolizing thunder, the Xun Hexagram symbolizing wind, the Kun Hexagram symbolizing earth, and the Qian Hexagram symbolizing heaven.

These types of Eight Trigrams Formation are vastly different from the Five Elements layout, with profoundly mysterious principles and rare formation diagrams, and their inheritance is scarce.

Aside from a few simple Xun Formation diagrams, there were no formation diagrams for Zhen Formation, Qian Formation, and Kun Formation even from Elder Master Xun.

Even Mo Hua was like this, let alone other disciples within the Taixu Gate.

Similarly, among this group of water bandits, even those from the Gui Water Sect would not have a Second Grade Formation Master truly proficient in all Eight Trigrams Formations.

And the Eight Gates Eight Trigrams formation on this water island is inherently incomplete.

Because the eight trigrams are not fully assembled, most of the formations within actually use other Five Elements formations to make up the numbers.

In fact, some areas even lack substitute formations.

This was a conclusion Mo Hua deduced after pondering himself and consulting with Elder Xun Zixian.

According to Elder Xun Zixian, the true ”Eight Gates Eight Trigrams” formation is easy to learn but difficult to master, with a straightforward layout but endless variations, a type of formation only a ”master” can truly wield.

Mo Hua wants to become a formation master.

Therefore, he needs to study, research, and improve this formation thoroughly.

The formation on the small island is rather crude and imperfect.

But based on this foundation, with gradual improvement, perfecting the trigrams, and simultaneously adding multiple variations to the Eight Gates, especially the circulation of the Life Gate and Gate of Death, he can gradually unearth the formation’s power.

This formation placed on the small island is a bit of a waste. Only in his hands can it be used to its full potential.

Mo Hua nodded slightly.

Time dripped away as night deepened.

In the dense night, there was a pervasive blood qi.

The island’s formation operated according to Mo Hua’s trajectory of deduction, with the Eight Gates continuously shifting as per his predictions.

The Taoist Court’s Enforcement Leader carried out the plan to encircle and kill the water bandits.

Soon, the defeat of the water bandits became apparent.

Some water bandits fled the island, escaping along the Life Gate.

But as soon as they stepped outside the gate, originally empty grounds suddenly turned into muddy water, transforming into a swamp, trapping the water bandits within.

Simultaneously, the swamp turned into a whirlpool, as if invisible hands were pulling the water bandits deeper into the sludge.

”Damn it, who set up the trap...”

Before the water bandit could finish speaking, their mouths were sealed by the swamp, unable to borrow strength and struggling desperately but in vain.

The cultivators from the Taoist Court caught up and ended their lives one by one.

Eight Trigrams Dui System Formation -

Mud Swamp Trap.

This is the formation Mo Hua thought would be most suitable for use on the island.

The island has soil, and beside the soil, there’s water; when water and soil merge, they transform into marsh.

Most of the water bandits were trapped in the Mud Swamp Formation, their struggles futile, later beheaded one by one by the Taoist Court Enforcement Leader.

Those who escaped from the Mud Swamp Trap and jumped into the river were caught by fishing nets.

The fishing nets are reinforced with formations, making them extremely sturdy and hard to break free from, with barbs soaked in poison; once ensnared by the nets, they can only be butchered like fish. .

If unlucky enough to enter the ”Gate of Death” trap Mo Hua set up, they would be gnawed to death by numerous water demons.

With Mo Hua’s meticulous preparation, the water bandits had almost no chance of escape.

The killing continued.

The bodies of water bandits on the island increased steadily.

Mo Hua estimated the time, thinking the water bandits were almost eliminated, the scale of the mixed battle reduced, and the threat on the island lessened, only then did he set off, quietly arriving on the island.

The soil on the island soaked with blood, stepped on felt sticky and thick.

The ground was covered with the corpses of water bandits.

Mo Hua cast the Minor Five Elements Stealth Skill and released his Divine Sense, bypassing the Kan Gate, heading into the depths of the bandit camp.

Whenever he found a water bandit pretending to be dead on the ground, he’d casually cast a Fireball Technique, sending them to hell, like a ”Little Yama” harvesting lives.

Inside the bandit camp, it was a complete mess.

The killing continued.

Fiery light, blood light, mud, haphazardly strewn bodies, dense footprints, all intertwined.

Mo Hua slightly deduced and roughly calculated the positions of Gu Changhuai, Xia Canonical Official, and a large group of Court Officials.

After all, their route to break the formation was planned by Mo Hua himself.

But he himself did not need to follow that route.

At this point, no one understood the formations within the bandit camp better than him, not even Shui Yan, the water bandit leader.

Within his Divine Sense, the transformations of the formation were clearly discernible.

Mo Hua’s glance was deep, perceiving the flow of the formation, then identified a direction, moving towards the core of the formation.

Along the way, there were also some miscellaneous trapping and killing formations.

But in Mo Hua’s eyes, these small trapping and killing formations were exceedingly basic, unable to trap him at all, let alone kill him.

Mo Hua effortlessly bypassed these formations, stealthily moving for a while, avoiding scattered water bandits, casually dispatching a few seriously injured bandits, and arrived at the center of the bandit camp.
