The Programmer Cultivator

Then, Zhang Deming took action again, editing the remaining four Tier One Techniques.

As expected, all four Techniques fused with the Trapped Position Rune Light Group.

When Zhang Deming finished the final edit, the Rune Light Group, having now fused with five Techniques, had changed.

It was still a chessboard, but it was now densely covered with pieces, and a Yin Yang Fish pattern appeared at its base.

Sensing the aura of a Tier Two Technique, Zhang Deming smiled faintly. It seemed the Glove Bead for the Yin Yang Extreme Chess Dao was no longer an issue.

He spent one Merit. With a thought, a prompt appeared.

”Consume Merit to unlock an attachment slot?”

”Yes!”

······

After it was attached, Zhang Deming spent another ten points of Qi Fortune to upgrade it. In the end...

······

Skill: Yin Yang Chess Dao: Position Lv3 (0/50)

······

In total, completing this Technique cost one Merit and sixteen Qi Fortune. If the sole purpose was to create a Glove Bead, it obviously wasn’t worth it.

Even for an ”extreme” Glove Bead, it wouldn’t have been worth it. The Yin Yang Chess Dao was simply too strange, and very few people would commission it. It was essentially a one-off sale, which was the very reason why many couldn’t afford custom orders.

But adding in a Tier Six Cultivation Technique made it worthwhile.

Plus, he could use this to test his second concern: the acquisition of Merit and Qi Fortune. With that, there was no way it could be a loss.

He glanced at his reserves: Energy Merit: 3.2, Qi Fortune: 15.4, Karma: 1.0.

He’d spent more than half of it again. Shaking his head, Zhang Deming decided he didn’t want to spend any more for a while, especially Merit. He needed to save up Merit to develop a new function he’d been contemplating for a long time.

This function would be groundbreaking for his future Cultivation, his growth in strength, and the improvement of his abilities.

But because Merit was scarce, he had delayed it again and again. He couldn’t put it off any longer. He would have to tighten his belt and save up for it.

That said, this Tier Three Chess Dao Technique wasn’t completely useless to Zhang Deming. In particular, two of its functions were quite beneficial to him.

First was the Dark Pawn storage and recovery function. Now that the Technique was Tier Three, the Dark Pawn had changed.

He could still construct a chess piece inside his body, but now it was the Yin Yang Twins.

Not only did it have the Vitality and Spiritual Power co-storage function expected of a Tier Two Technique, but at Tier Three, it also added the ability to deposit them in batches.

Previously, he could only store them all at once. Combined with the fifty-percent efficiency loss, he could at most store half his Spiritual Power and a small fraction of his Vitality.

After all, storing too much Vitality at once was fatal!!!

But now he could deposit it little by little, and the storage limit was 1.5 times his Main Body’s capacity.

Therefore, it could be considered a huge trump card, not a Technique created solely for making a Glove Bead.

The second was Shell Shedding, which patched the shortcomings of Zhang Deming’s Escape Techniques.

Zhang Deming closed the panel and went to the Magic Room to test the Technique.

”Yin Yang Chess Dao: Trapped Position!”

A chessboard with a Yin Yang Fish pattern slowly materialized, and the entire Cultivation Room was instantly controlled by it.

After the first opening move of the Technique, Zhang Deming was utterly dumbfounded...

When he had encountered the Trapped Position Technique at Tier One, it had merely prevented him from using Spiritual Power or moving his body. At least his eyes and mouth could still move.

But what the hell was this now? After the opening move, Zhang Deming’s entire body went rigid.

It was the kind of Trapped Position where you couldn’t move at all, where it was hard to even move your eyeballs!!!

Thankfully, he could cut off the Spiritual Power supply and actively stop the Casting.

Otherwise, given the current Spiritual Power concentration in the Cultivation Room and his script’s auto-recovery, he would have been trapped here for the rest of his life, turned into a dried corpse by his own Technique.

’Who the hell developed such a ridiculously bad Technique?’

’What was even more ridiculous was that people actually chose to specialize in this. It was just too much. It really proved the saying: ”When the garden is big, you’ll find all sorts of strange flowers!”’

Zhang Deming decisively dispelled the Technique. This was the first Technique he’d created using Qi Fortune that he found utterly repulsive.

’Damn, a Technique this bizarre... I can’t mess with it!’

’The moment a fight starts, you play ”statues”? Are you supposed to win by grossing your opponent out until they die?’

’Most importantly, the game of statues has to end eventually, right?’

’When it’s over, the other guy hasn’t spent a lick of Spiritual Power, but you’re exhausted and on the floor.’ A Technique this bizarre... Zhang Deming found it completely incomprehensible.

He felt that the old adage, ”There are no useless Techniques, only useless Cultivators,” simply didn’t apply here.

’This is a fucking useless Technique! And a Dao Foundation Class useless Technique, at that!’

As the chessboard dissipated, Zhang Deming decisively left the Magic Room. A ridiculously bad Technique like this wasn’t even worth testing!

······

Zhang Deming left the Magic Room and sat in the third-floor lounge, staring blankly.

In truth, the entire third floor was suitable for Cultivation. The whole Three-Star Node supplied the Flying Spring Waterfall Tower via its first floor, making Spiritual Power extremely abundant. Because of this, he wasn’t restricted to a single Cultivation Room.

The distinction between the various rooms was actually more for decoration; with his auto-cultivation script, Zhang Deming could cultivate anywhere.

Right now, he was thinking about the path ahead and how to implement a few plans. Having spent some time on Spirit Nurturing Peak, he found that this place seemed truly suitable for him to lay low and develop.

Moreover, given his unique abilities, the safe place he had been searching for to quietly ’farm’ and develop seemed to be a perfect match with this peak.

After thinking for a long time, Zhang Deming slowly began to form a plan.

He then stood up and went to the storage room of his Cultivation Room, where he kept some of his valuable items.

Zhang Deming stored all the things he couldn’t carry with him here. In addition, he also kept most of his Spirit Stones here, since he often needed them for his Cultivation.
