The Programmer Cultivator

Chapter 187: Chapter 42: Editing Techniques After Promotion (Part 2)

’I’ll deal with the Techniques first and research the rest later.’

As the two light balls and the Swift Technique book vanished, Zhang Deming opened the editor again.

”Directly related Technique of the same series detected. Initiate re-editing?”

Zhang Deming paused for a moment before selecting ’Yes.’

Immediately, the panel changed, displaying:

Zhang Deming: Body”{Provide Spiritual Qi, then, Agility Technique begins operation. Cut off Spiritual Qi, then, Agility Technique ceases operation.}

The panel first displayed the original code for the Agility Technique. Then, the code began to change automatically, and a moment later, it became:

Zhang Deming: Body”

{

If () {Swift Technique} Else {Swift Technique}

}.

’So now it’s completely become a semi-passive framework?’

Looking at the new code framework, Zhang Deming pondered for a moment and chose to edit.

’{

If (Provide Spiritual Qi)

{Then, Swift Technique operates, and Spiritual Power determines the Technique’s strength}

Else {Then, Swift Technique ceases operation}

}’

Looking at the code, Zhang Deming clicked ’Complete and Upload.’

This was a re-edit, so all the Runes didn’t re-condense into a light ball.

Instead, they transformed directly into countless specks of light and flew to the Light Wings at his heels. The Light Wings vibrated slightly, becoming a bit more distinct, their patterns much clearer.

Zhang Deming instantly felt his entire body become much lighter, and the pupils of his eyes contracted a little more.

After experimenting for a moment and finding no major difference from before, Zhang Deming deactivated the Swift Technique and looked at the two ’Sequence’ light balls.

Zhang Deming picked one and began editing the Spiritual Shield.

”Ordinary Energy: 2. Small plug-ins are editable.

Editing conditions met!

...”

Like the Agility Technique, the Spiritual Shield was also a re-edit. The panel first jumped to his Dantian.

Zhang Deming: Dantian”

’If (Cast Spiritual Shield AND Possess a certain amount of Spiritual Power)

{Then, Spiritual Shield is successfully cast}

Else {Then, Spiritual Shield casting fails}.’

As the ’Sequence’ light ball and the Tier Two Spiritual Shield vanished, the panel changed again.

Looking at the changing code, Zhang Deming didn’t use a ’Branch’ this time. The two light balls he had just consumed were one ’Sequence’ and one ’Branch’.

This meant that if he wanted to, he could use one ’Sequence’ with two ’Branches’.

Therefore, Zhang Deming contemplated for a moment and wrote his first dual-branch Technique, which was also semi-passive.

’{

If (Provide Spiritual Power)

{Then, Spiritual Shield operates, and Spiritual Power determines the strength of the effect}

Else If (Sense a certain level of danger AND Dantian has a certain amount of Spiritual Power)

{Then, Spiritual Shield activates automatically}

Else {Then, Spiritual Shield deactivates}

}.’

’Mm, now this is what I call a defense. A Defensive Technique that can activate automatically.’

After checking it for a moment, Zhang Deming selected ’Complete and Upload.’

The Rune once again turned into countless specks of light and flew into the Spiritual Shield Rune within his Dantian.

The Rune Ball extended a thread of Spiritual Power, connected to his Spiritual Power supply, then flew out of his Dantian and settled at the location of his heart.

With a thought, an eggshell-thin Energy Shield immediately enveloped Zhang Deming.

After inspecting the Spiritual Shield for a while, Zhang Deming finally deactivated it.

Looking at the eight remaining light balls, Zhang Deming hesitated.

He looked at his Spirit Nurturing Summoning Skill, invested five light balls, and chose to upgrade it.

’Come to think of it, this is the first time I’ve ever used the light balls to directly upgrade a Technique.’

The Rune for the Spirit Nurturing Summoning Skill throbbed slightly as it absorbed the five light balls.

The Rune in his Dantian vanished and reappeared between Zhang Deming’s eyebrows.

Instantly, the Rune began to shift again, evolving automatically and becoming significantly more complex.

When the Rune between his eyebrows faded, the Spirit Nurturing Summoning Skill upgrade was complete.

Cultivation Technique: Turtle Water Array Skill (Tier Five)

Cultivation: Tai Chi Lv1 (15/300,000)

Skills: Spirit Nurturing Summoning Skill Lv3 (0/50), Thorny Vine Growth Skill Lv2 (0/10)

Spiritual Power Recovery: 100 Spiritual Power / 3 minutes

Experience Growth: 10 Experience / 3 minutes

His first Tier Three Technique was born just like that, and it was even his Dao Foundation Technique.

The practical effect of the Technique advancing to Tier Three was that the Spirit Nurturing Space had grown much larger, and Zhang Deming’s control over it had also strengthened considerably.

Furthermore, he could now summon three Mirror Images simultaneously.

What surprised Zhang Deming the most was the addition of a mutual communication function and a summoning function.

Previously, only Zhang Deming could use the light specks to either pull people over or send messages to them.

But after the Spirit Nurturing Summoning Skill advanced to Tier Three, he could write a specific ritual to allow the target of a light speck to contact him proactively.

Moreover, this ritual could also allow the other party to request that he manifest a Mirror Image to help them, just like summoning a god.

This function was similar to the ”Summoning God Skill,” or rather, it was the result of the Summoning God Skill being fully integrated.

The birth of the Spirit Nurturing Summoning Skill was half thanks to it, so it seemed normal for such an effect to appear.

With this function, the impact on the development of the Blue Sky Alliance would be substantial and far-reaching.

Filled with pleasant surprise, Zhang Deming looked at the three remaining Qi Fortune Light Balls. ’It seems that no matter how many of these light balls I have, it’s never enough.’

He had intended to close the panel and test his abilities, but the moment he exited the warehouse, Zhang Deming froze.

The function bar at the very top of the panel’s main page had changed.

Warehouse, Help, ·

There was an additional small black dot. Zhang Deming touched it.

”Current Energy Progress (0/10)”

Zhang Deming frowned slightly, not understanding what this meant. He opened the help page, which he hadn’t touched in a long time, and sure enough, new clauses had been added.

1-7. Omitted.

8. This editor, through a fortuitous coincidence, fused with the Main Body’s Merit and gave birth to the initial editing function. Aside from the initial functions, please edit any new functions yourself. Please explore the specific methods on your own.

9. The minimum cost for editing all editor functions is Merit. For specific costs, please explore on your own.

10. The Body Disc Talisman can be edited by consuming Spiritual Power, Qi Fortune, or Merit. For specific costs, please explore on your own.

11. To edit corresponding body functions, on the Body Disc Talisman page, input ’/[corresponding function]’. If this sub-page exists, you will be redirected and can begin editing.

12. For more functions, please explore on your own.

Seeing the few new help entries, all ending with ”explore on your own,” Zhang Deming felt a real headache coming on.

’So what this means now is, for ten Merit points, I can try to add a new function to the editor?’

’So the test run feature I want... I have to bloody code it myself?’

’Heavens, I have to write my own debug program to test the code I’ve written?’

’What is this? Is it asking me to not only build the API, but also the framework, and even the backend?’

’I’m a single person doing the work of entire circles of programmers!’

His originally excellent mood was completely ruined by how hardcore this golden finger was.

’It’s a good thing it’s me. If this had gone to someone who doesn’t know code, it would be a complete waste.’

He shook his head. ’Ten Merit points... I’d better not think about that for now.’

The last few help entries did, however, provide quite a bit of information.

In other words, his body could also be edited. So, what could he do by consuming Spiritual Qi?

Zhang Deming directly input the command ’/body’, and was taken to the body page.

Zhang Deming: Body”

’There’s nothing here?’

After a moment of contemplation, Zhang Deming tried inputting ’/Talent’.

”The Body Disc Talisman currently only has basic functions. You can consume Spiritual Power to edit your appearance. For all other edits, please enable the functions before attempting to edit.”

Zhang Deming: ”...”

’I can only change my appearance right now? Isn’t that just Disguise? I have a pile of Techniques for that. Who’d care about a function like this!’

Although he thought this, Zhang Deming still input ’/appearance’.

The editor page changed. For the first time, it moved away from the black Rune state, and a miniature virtual Mirror Image of Zhang Deming appeared before him.

With a thought from his Heart Spirit, the virtual Mirror Image in front of him changed accordingly, and next to it appeared the percentage of Spiritual Power the change would consume.

’Is this... photoshopping?’

’And it’s completely controlled by my thoughts!’

It looked quite convenient. After playing around with it for a moment, Zhang Deming selected ’Complete.’
