The Princess of Lucifer

Riser Phenex is the third young master of the Phenex clan. For DxD fans, they only know that Riser is a pervert and a loser and is a stepping stone for Rias and Issei’s love life. He is also a pervert that Issei got along with very well. In addition, he became Issei’s future brother-in-law after Ravel was engaged to him.

Although most of these things are true due to the story wanting to highlight Issei’s greatness, they purposefully left out some key points.

In addition to all those things, Riser is also a very talented devil. Many praise him as a genius and someone who is more talented than his two older brothers. After all, this guy managed to make a name for himself in the rating games just after a few years.

In devil society, strength is everything. And rating game rankings are like gold and silver medals for these nobles to show off. The higher the rank, the more status they have in the underworld.

So for Riser to be able to achieve a high ranking was no small feat. Especially when he was just a rookie.

And this is also why he was able to get engaged to Rias Gremory. As the princess of the Gremory clan and the sister of the current Satan, Lucifer Rias is not someone just any noble could get engaged to.

And what’s more, Riser is just the third son and not even the heir to the Phenex clan. So when the engagement was announced, the whole underworld had mixed reactions.

Many other noble clans wanted this engagement to stop and replace Riser with their own people. After all, even if the Phenex clan is special, there are still some clans that have a higher status than the Phenex clan.

But all their efforts were stopped as the Phenex clan fully went on with this marriage and let Riser marry into the Gremory clan.

This shocked everyone so much that there was another big commotion because of this. The Phenex clan’s bloodline is the most covered bloodline in the whole underworld due to their ability to create Phenex Tears. In the supernatural world, abilities that have healing powers that are on par with Phenex tears could be counted on one hand.

So, never in the past have there been any who were expelled or married away from the clan. This clan was the one that took great care in protecting its bloodline to the maximum extent.

So when everyone heard that Riser would be allowed to marry into the Gremory family, everyone thought this marriage was a done deal.

After all, both clans benefit greatly from this marriage. The Gremory clan would be able to get their own family bloodline enhanced, and the Phenex clan would be able to get Sirzechs as their immediate backer for their clan.

But ironically, the marriage that everyone thought was perfect was instantly destroyed by Issei and Rias.

At that time, even though Roxanne knew everything beforehand, she was still shocked. You know the Phenex family and the Gremory family all poured much of their resources into this marriage.

Especially the Phenex family. They had started many collaborations with the Gremory family, and none of these collaborations were so easily dissolved.

But after the engagement was broken off the Phenex family and Riser were humiliated very thoroughly. And for devils, the last thing they want is to have their reputation stained.

And obviously the target of their revenge is Issei. After all, at that time, whether everyone wants to admit it or not, Issei won illegally. The strength he showed at that time wasn’t enough for the Phenex clan to swallow their anger.

Thankfully, Roxanne intervened in time before anything actually happened. She knew how unreliable Sirzechs was in suppressing this matter. So before all this mess happened, she came in contact with Riser and made a deal.

She gave him and the Phenex clan enough benefits so that they could ignore the impact of this engagement. In fact, the benefits she gave are far better than the benefits they could get from allying with the Gremory clan.

But the real reason why everything went so smoothly is largely due to Riser himself.

Although Riser may look like a total dick, he is actually quite nice and sensible. Just like his sister, he is a bit of a tsundere. And most importantly, Riser also had zero interest in marrying Rias.

As he said when he first met with Issei, their marriage was purely for the welfare of both clans.

That is why even when he didn’t like this marriage, he didn’t try to annul it. As the third son of the Phenex clan, he knew his responsibilities far better than anyone. In this regard he is far superior to Rias who is raised and spoiled by her brother and father.

…..

“Luciana, I’m going to the underworld for a trip. Tell Mother that I’ll be staying there for a couple of days.“ Taking out her phone, Roxanne dialed Luciana’s number and spoke.

After a few minutes of conversation, she hung up.

And with a snap of her fingers, she opened a portal to the underworld, and carrying Kurumi in her arms, she walked towards it unhurriedly.

Coming out of the other side, Roxanne was met with the large mansion that seemed to be on fire.

This is the mansion of the Phenex clan, which is known for its artistic design that is unique even in the underworld.

“Sigh, I really can’t understand the taste of these guys. I mean, how much energy do you need to waste to have this effect? “ Roxanne muttered in a quiet voice as she slowly changed to her Shaltier outfit.

As she came near the mansion’s door, she noticed how there was a lack of guards. This made Roxanne feel very strange. Logically speaking, there should always be at least two guards to guard the door.

Frowning a bit, Roxanne hesitated for a moment before ringing the bell.

DING DONG

DING DONG

Even after she waited for a few minutes, no one came to receive her. This made Roxanne’s frown deepen even more. She then used her senses to cover the whole mansion to find out what the hell was going on.

Usually, she kept her senses at a limited range since it was troublesome to maintain the detection field even with Ciel’s help. And besides, some people may get provoked for unexpectedly finding out their secrets accidentally.

As Roxanne’s senses washed all over the Phenex mansion, she immediately began to notice an oddity. In the whole mansion there is not a single human presence.

This immediately put Roxanne on high alert.

‘Something is really wrong here. How could the mansion be empty? And why was this not noticed by anyone until now?’ Roxanne thought as she placed Kurumi down on the ground.

The girl had fallen asleep due to Roxanne’s head-pat session.

“Hmm,“ after she was put down, Kurumi immediately woke up. She looked at the surroundings drowsily before her brain started to work properly.

Without a moment’s hesitation, she jumped up and transformed into her human form, which wore a standard Shadow Garden outfit and a mask that covered half of her face.

Just as she was about to say something, she noticed the signal Roxanne gave and kept her mouth shut.

Roxanne nodded and then quietly activated her Eyes of Truth, making her purple eyes turn golden.

Now she can start her hunt.
