The Master and His Wealthy Fiancée

In Qin Baining’s room at Qianzhou City Hospital, only Qin Xuan and Qin Baining were present.

Qin Xuan, his face twisted with rage, roared at his father, Qin Baining, ”I told you not to sell the villa, but you’re going to do it anyway! Let me tell you something: you’d better give me all the money from the sale, or I’ll make sure the buyer never gets to live in it!”

Qin Baining’s face was etched with sorrow. ”Xuan, my illness costs money, and so does the company. Can’t you try to understand?”

Qin Xuan spoke without a trace of feeling. ”Understand? When you die, who else is there to leave the money to? Me! Are you thinking of leaving it to Qin Yun? She’s a woman. She’ll get married eventually, and all that money will just go to an outsider! Don’t even think about it. I’ve already prepared your will. The company and the villa are mine. You can sign it right now!”

With that, he produced a document.

Qin Baining was so furious his lips went pale and his eyes turned bloodshot. He never imagined that his own son could become so heartless just because he had fallen ill.

He had always favored his son over his daughter, and that, combined with the guilt he felt toward his late wife, had led him to be incredibly indulgent with Qin Xuan. Even when he threatened to sever their father-son relationship, they were just empty words spoken in a fit of temper.

But now, while he was still alive, his son had already prepared his will for him. The betrayal shattered his heart.

His hands trembling, he took the will. After just one look, tears of grief began to stream down his face.

They say a long illness tests a child’s filial piety, but he had only been hospitalized for two days. He had always thought he’d spent his whole life working hard for his son, intending to leave the family fortune to him. Now, seeing the cold, hard words on the page, he felt each one slice into his heart like a knife.

He closed his eyes, his voice deathly quiet. ”Get out. From this day forward, I am no longer your father, and you are no longer my son. You will not get a single cent of the family fortune!”

”Have you gone senile from this illness, old man? If you don’t sign this will, I’m not going anywhere. Here, take a look at this news.” With that, he tossed the newspaper in his hand onto Qin Baining.

The headline read: ”Popular Celestial Empress Spotted at Airport with Boyfriend.” It was accompanied by a photo showing the backs of Chen Dong and Qin Yun.

The last time Qin Xuan had been here, he was drunk and hadn’t even noticed Chen Dong in the room. Besides, he wouldn’t recognize him from the back. All he saw was that Qin Yun had a man now—a man who would help her fight him for the inheritance.

”Don’t you call me heartless. Your ’precious’ daughter is out gallivanting with her boyfriend while you’re stuck in the hospital. If you don’t sign this will now, are you just going to wait for the Qin Family’s assets to fall into some outsider’s hands?”

But Qin Baining didn’t even glance at the paper. Facing death had given him a grim clarity: he was better off without a son like this.

He repeated, ”Get out!”

Qin Xuan breathed heavily, his fists clenched. ”So you’re really not going to sign, old man?” The anger in his eyes had morphed into something venomous.

Tears welled in Qin Baining’s eyes once more. ”My greatest regret in this life is that I failed to raise you right...”

Qin Xuan didn’t hear a word of it. Realizing his father would never sign the will, he suddenly lunged forward. He clamped one hand over Qin Baining’s mouth and pressed his other hand down hard over his father’s heart.

Qin Baining stared at his son in horror. He never dreamed the boy would actually try to commit patricide!

Having crossed the line, Qin Xuan was like a man possessed. His face contorted as he bore down on Qin Baining, hissing, ”Once you’re dead, the entire family fortune will be mine! I can spend it however I want, sleep with any trainee I want! You’ll never be able to control me again!”

Qin Baining, already in critical condition, was no match for his son. Even though Chen Dong had healed his heart, his other internal organs were still failing. Under the immense pressure, he went into shock in less than two minutes.

Qin Xuan watched as his father’s eyes rolled back into his head. The corner of his mouth twitched. He checked for breath under Qin Baining’s nose—nothing. A sinister smile spread across his face. He quickly pulled out a prepared red ink pad, grabbed Qin Baining’s hand, and pressed his fingerprint onto the will several times. Then, he frantically gathered his things and bolted from the room.

In the hallway, Chen Dong, Qin Yun, and Sister Li were heading toward the room, just in time to encounter a panicked Qin Xuan trying to escape. Seeing the look on his face, Qin Yun asked,

”Brother, where are you going?”

Looking utterly terrified, Qin Xuan shoved past Qin Yun and bolted.

’Something’s wrong,’ Chen Dong cursed internally. He burst into the room to see Qin Baining in shock and immediately drew his Silver Needles.

That was close. If he had been two seconds later, Qin Baining would have been murdered by his own ”wonderful” son.

When Sister Li and Qin Yun entered the room, they saw the look on Qin Baining’s face—like a man who had died with an unresolved grievance. Recalling Qin Xuan’s panicked escape, they instantly understood. Both women collapsed to the floor in despair.

After a quick examination, Chen Dong took out a refined Lung Rejuvenation Pill, placed it in Qin Baining’s mouth, and then used his True Qi to help him swallow and dissolve the medicine.

A moment later, Qin Baining’s eyes fluttered open. But his gaze was vacant, and he stared blankly into the distance, lost in thought.

This new development terrified Qin Yun and Sister Li. They peppered Chen Dong with questions, but he simply assured them that everything was fine now.

After a long silence, Qin Baining finally made a decision. ”Sister Li,” he said, ”call the police.”

Soon after, Qin Xuan was arrested in a bar. He was already dead drunk.

Chen Dong did not interfere in the Qin Family’s affairs, though he desperately wanted to kill Qin Xuan with a single punch.

The evidence against Qin Xuan was irrefutable, and he was taken into custody immediately.

Once the Qin Family’s affairs were settled, Chen Dong brought up his proposal to invest in Eastern Entertainment with Qin Baining.
