The Martial Unity

Chapter 3592: A Carrot Conference

Outside of the Royal Palace in the Kandrian Empire, a large crowd had gathered up at a barricade erected to keep them at bay, with numerous Martial Masters and Martial Sages monitoring the crowd and the entire region while Martial Artists of the lower Realms manned the perimeter.

The crowd gathered wore formal attire, accompanied by an entire crew of videographers hooking up their camera and microphone set-ups for the sudden, highly important press conference that the Emperor of Harmony had called for himself on very short notice.

Within an hour, journalists from not just local Kandrian news but also the entire continent and even from outside the continent had gathered at the Kandrian Royal Palace in the City of Vargard.

The atmosphere was electric as each of them could smell an announcement that could change the trajectory of civilization as they knew it. Their anticipation tingled, prickling at the nerves of all those who were present.

Their enthusiasm for the Emperor of Harmony was so high that even the Martial Seniors manning the perimeter and the barricade needed to hold them back without hurting them.

”Do not attempt to cross over the barricade, you will be arrested!”

”Do not push against the barriers!”

”Stay within the mandated area!”

The bright light of the morning Sun illuminated the entire district’s worth of reporters and journalists who had come just to see the Emperor of Harmony.

It wasn’t just humans, however.

There were even dark elves and therianthropes within the crowd, as well as people of different races and species from the true world, though they accounted for a very small minority of the true world.

The Panamic Alliance had signed travel treaties with several states as the first steps towards a slow increment of the relationship between the Panama Continent and other polities in the true world.

When the Emperor of Harmony called for an international press conference on extremely short notice, the rising escalation in the intensity of war continued with each passing moment, halted briefly as many of the political class of the true world decided to hear the Emperor of Harmony out before they made any drastic decisions.

The entire world waited for the Emperor of Harmony.

And then, he came.

The crowd grew more energized as the Emperor of Harmony emerged from within the Royal Palace, accompanied by several Martial Sages around him. His gait was measured and paced, while his appearance was groomed to perfection. His crown sat on his head while his fine royal attire gently swayed in the winds.

STEP

He arrived at the podium and the speaker’s stand, directing a sweeping gaze across the gathered crowd.

”Citizens of the Kandrian Empire, denizens of this and any other continent across the great wide world, I, Emperor Rael Di Kandria of the Kandrian Empire and Supreme Commander of the Panamic Alliance, am here today to address the entire world on a number of events that have changed the world over the span of several days.”

He began with a formal tone.

”As I’m sure the entire world is aware of by now, an anomaly in the Great Void Ocean in the form of a large and growing presence of negatron matter at the bottom of the ocean has emerged in just the span of days,” he continued with a serious tone. ”A precious and priceless resource that each and every single organization, individual, and nation seeks has emerged from the Great Void Ocean, and it has led to a mining rush from the entire world and all its inhabitants to the depths of the ocean in order to get our hands on as much negatron matter as we possibly can.”

A number of camera shuttering noises continuously emerged from the otherwise silent crowd, engrossed in his words.

”The sudden and abrupt emergence of this resource has led to a disarrayed, hasty, and uncalibrated rush for more territory and more power,” the Emperor of Harmony continued. ”And has led to escalations that may threaten the peace and harmony of the entire world.”

That was a mild way of putting it. Many of the international reporters and journalists in the crowd fumed at the way he framed it, considering he was the one who escalated it.

”The highest priority of the Panamic Alliance is securing the survival, stability, and security of our continent and our civilization.” He openly declared. ”Unlike many other forces in this world, we do not harbor any overarching goal of dominating the world. We don’t have any real territorial conquest and are largely happy with our home continent and territory.”

His eyes sharpened. ”Therefore, as supreme commander of the Panamic Alliance, I have decided to offer a number of organizations, polities, and nations across the entire world an opportunity to gain access to a large amount of the territory that the Panamic Alliance has recently gained at the bottom of the Great Void Ocean. They will gain access to more territory and negatron matter than they could have otherwise gained.”

His words sent a shockwave through the reporters and journalists who gazed at him with a stunned expression. They couldn’t overcome their disbelief at his words very easily.

Did he truly intend to just hand over a piece of his land to other nations, just like that?

Surely not.

He was either lying through his teeth, which was just highly unlikely in this situation, or, more likely, there was something that he was going to demand in return.

And they were right, of course.

”However, in order to actually access the territory that the Panamic Alliance offers to the select group of individuals, organizations, and nations that we have chosen, they will have to sign a security agreement with the Panamic Alliance with all associated territories,” Emperor Rael continued. ”They will have to acquiesce to an agreement that requires both parties to militarily protect the Panama Continent through direct reinforcements and/or through external attacks on any party that attacks the Panama Continent, as well as through logistical support, supply chain bolstering, intelligence sharing, covert operations and economic embargos and sanctions, while the Panama Continent will reciprocate the same level of military protection in return.”

His golden eyes sharpened as they swept across the crowd of journalists and reporters who gazed at him with a shocked expression.

”Protect the Panama Continent from those who prepare to invade it if you ever hope to get your hands on any negatron matter.”

All hell broke loose as the Emperor of Harmony threw aside all formality and openly expressed his intentions to the world.
