The Martial Unity

Chapter 2700: Individuality and Interpretation

Rui simply gazed at the gathered Martial Artists with a blank expression, heaving a sigh.

”Letʼs begin.”

Consul Sergenilius and Consul Notera narrowed their eyes.

It was an unceremonious start to what was perhaps one of the most important turning points in the history of the Nest of Terra. Consul Notera could only hope that he didnʼt intend to share the Scriptures of Terra with the people who had tried to kill him for it in the first place.

There was no way that he was going to be that foolish and forgiving.

”First, the breakthroughs.” He activated his Realms of power before commencing the various breakthroughs of the various Martial Artists of the entirety of the Nest of Terra.

Consul Sergenilius heaved a sigh of relief that he didnʼt limit his magical breakthroughs to the Martial Faction.

Consul Notera was displeased but acknowledged that the power of the Nest of Terra was important enough to allow all Martial Artists, regardless of their affiliation, to be broken through. More than anything, the wave of breakthroughs was truly shocking when they beheld it for the first time. It was one thing to hear and read about it. It was an entirely different thing to actually bear witness to it with oneʼs own eyes.

The atmosphere grew charged as they watched Martial Artists bloom galore.

It wasnʼt too long before it had entirely concluded.

”Now, for the Hellbringer model.”

This was less flashy, yet the agonized expressions of the Martial Artists of the Upper Realms who received it were telling.

”This…!”

”Rgh…!”

”Heavy! Too heavy!”

It took hours.

It took hours, but by that time, he was able to supply them with the cognitive power that they possessed.

The simple fact of the matter was that the Hellbringer was almost too much for all of them. It was less than a tenth of the true Tree of Life model from which it had been derived.

Just as Rui was able to go away, Consul Notera called his attention.

”Prince Rui, what about the Scriptures of Terra?” She asked him with an incredulous tone. ”We know you have found it. You have refused to answer any questions about it, but I must request you to impart it to only the Martial Artists of her faction.”

”Nonsense!” Consul Sergenilius snapped. ”Your Highness! All Martial Artists are worthy of this gift! I apologize for my transgressions, but do not hold the innocent Martial Artists affiliated with us as responsible for our actions.”

”Shut up, you treacherous bastard!” Consul Notera threw away all formalities and simply cursed him out in a manner that would be considered undignified and unparliamentary for a head of state before a foreign guest. ”Heʼs just trying to trick you, Dawnbringer! Those Martial Artists will adhere to all his commands when you give them the Scriptures.”

”Hah! So the hypocrite doesnʼt care for Martial Supremacy when it comes to Martial Artists who disagree with her?!”

The two consuls began heatedly debating each other.

Rui simply stared at them with a blank expression before heaving a sigh.

”You are not worthy of the Scriptures of Terra.”

His words cut through their commotion effortlessly as they directed a shocked gaze at him. ”Even if you were worthy of it in spirit, your Martial Artists are simply too inadequate to receive the Scriptures of Terra from me.”

This time, the Terran Martial Artists bristled with anger. ”How dare you insult us?!”

”What if I told you that inheriting the Scriptures of Terra from me was exponentially harder than inheriting the Hellbringer, which you barely managed to succeed in inheriting?” Ruiʼs words were pointed. The Martial Artists stiffened where they stood.

”And most importantly, even if you were worthy of it and were able to inherit it, inheriting it from me or anybody else would sabotage your progress with it and earth-bending tremendously.”

It was surely why the Shield of Gaia had told them that it existed and was within the Nest of Terra but didnʼt tell them what it was. This was something that Rui didnʼt realize until he discovered the Scriptures of Terra himself.

ʼSimply inheriting the Scriptures of Terra colors the Scriptures with the individuality of the person who shares it.ʼ

In other words, in order to maximize oneʼs affinity with the Scriptures of Terra, one needed to discover the Scriptures of Terra themselves and interpret them themselves.

Rui interpreted the Scriptures of Terra as a system of thought because his affinity for thought was enormous. And thus, he was able to maximize his synergy with his own interpretation of the Scriptures of Terra.

He was sure that the Shield of Gaia had his own interpretation and perspective on the Scriptures of Terra, which was synergetic with his own strengths and affinities.

Individuality was desirable because it maximized output by ensuring that oneʼs Martial Art was compatible and synergetic with oneʼs strengths, profile, and being as a whole. And when it came to the Scriptures of Terra, because the essence was the same, the only way to have individuality was by interpreting the Scriptures uniquely in a way that no one else would.

Someone like Amare would interpret it differently, perhaps as an everyday routine, compared to someone like Ieyasu, who would interpret it as power itself.

”The same is true for the Hellbringer model,” Rui muttered with a hint of regret. ”But alas, thereʼs nothing I can do about that.”

It wasnʼt impossible for people to reinterpret the Hellbringer model, but that was much harder than interpreting it in their own way originally. However, Rui couldnʼt afford to hope that they just happened to run into their own interpretation after giving them the Hellbringer model.

The apocalypse they were in was not kind enough to give them that much leeway.

”And so, I have decided not to share the Scriptures of Terra with anybody,” Rui announced to all of them. ”All I can say is simply say is what the Shield of Gaia told you more than a century ago.”

His eyes narrowed.

”The Scriptures of Terra are within the Nest of Terra. Find it. Find it and gain the power you seek.”
