The Martial Unity

Oooo—— was not in a good mood. Her expression crumpled with shock and anger as she saw the Emperor of Water leave the star system after defeating three Divine Mothers at once.

First, he did it with one.

Then he did it with two.

And now, with three.

This time, he had gotten rid of three Divine Mothers of the War Faction, leaving her extremely angry. However, what truly angered her was not the mothers disappearing as much as they failed to extract the contents of his mind and get access to the secret.

Had they done that and then disappeared, then she wouldn’t have had even the faintest problems. It would have been entirely worth it. Even though each of the three members was a member of the War Faction, they were lesser members, and not a part of the core of the faction she led.

It was nonetheless a loss to the entirety of Arakai Web Civilization.

”With. This…” Clicks emerged from the projection of Divine Mother oo—. ”…he. Has. Defeated. Six Divine. Mothers. In. Total.”

Oooo—— widened her six eyes in realization. That was right, with the latest three. It meant that the Emperor of Water had defeated six of their sisters in a remarkably short period of time. It was an unbelievable outcome that beggared the imagination.

Just half a year ago, if anybody had asked oooo—— whether it was possible for the Administrator of a primitive interstellar civilization to kill six Divine Mothers, she would clattered in their face.

But now, it had actually happened. And this time, it had happened in the heart of their territory, which made it all the more humiliating.

”…We. Must. Investigate. What. He. Did. To. Our. Sisters,” Divine Mother oooo—— remembered the strange abilities he had displayed and the anomalies associated with them.

Disappearing Divine Mothers to the point that they couldn’t even be sensed in the information dimension was a terrifying ability. Usually, if something couldn’t be sensed in the information dimension, it meant that they had completely ceased to exist, for information was at the root of reality.

”The. Only. Good. Thing. That. Has. Come. From. This. Is. That. We. Have. Gained. Precious. Intelligence. On. Rui. Quarrier’s abilities,” Divine Mother oo— remarked with an optimistic tone of voice. ”We. Have. Seen. His. Power. And. His. Fighting. Prowess.”

Oooo—— calmed down at those words. She nodded in agreement. Indeed, they had gathered a lot of precious information about him. The Colton Star System was equipped with a lot of powerful surveillance systems that could get a good understanding of what he was doing, even if most of them didn’t last the entire war.

They had even managed to develop robust predictive models based on the data that they had gathered, and it would allow future Divine Mothers to fight him more effectively.

She turned back to the several holographic screens playing the footage and data gathered from the battle. She could make out that his body was constantly converting a large amount of matter into energy, but at the same time, he was extremely efficient at absorbing energy to boost his reserves and his attacks.

He had a genetically mutable body. They sensed his genotype shifting across the battle. Even though they didn’t fully understand human genetics, having only acquired that information relatively recently, they still understood that their opponent could genetically adaptively evolve. Poisons and other bio-weapons were thus much less likely to be effective against him.

They could see that his raw power didn’t derive from high-level infected matter the way the Divine Mothers did, but rather, despite possessing minimal amounts of such matter in his body, he was still able to match and exceed the physicalities of Divine Mothers.

They also sensed the existence of a profound web of quantum entanglement in his body, which corresponded with the intelligence that they collected on the so-called ’Corporeal Realm.’

But that wasn’t all.

”The. Scientific. Analytics. Division. Assigned. To. Analyzing. The. Battle. Has. Found. Evidence. Of. Hyperdimensional. Tampering. During. The. Battle,” Oooo—— frowned. ”That. Means. Our. Enemies. Aren’t. Illiterate. In. This. Field. As. We. Imagined.”

That was not good news. There was a clear difference between civilizations that were proficient in hyperdimensional technology, and those that weren’t. Hyperdimensional technology was so important, powerful, and versatile that it could be considered a milestone and a boundary at the same time. A boundary that separated those who possessed proficiency in it and those who didn’t.

One of the reasons that the Arakai Web Civilization had underestimated human civilization was precisely that they didn’t have hyperdimensional technology. However, with signs that the humans were making gains in this direction, the arakai were agitated, to say the least.

”We. Cannot. Let. This. War. Drag. Out. Too. Soon,” oooo—— shook her head. ”I. Believe. That. We. Have. All. The. Information. That. We. Need. To. Defeat. And. Capture. The. Emperor. Of. Water. This. Battle. Has. Shown. Us. The. Way.”

The most effective the Divine Mothers had ever been against the Emperor of Water was when o-ooooo amplified the Webverses of her two teammates. It was this solution that had pushed the Emperor of Water to the brink.

That was highly promising.

She wasn’t the only one who had proficiency with mental manipulation, after all. There were other Divine Mothers who could play the same role. And if they deployed stronger Divine Mothers to be amplified, then they didn’t believe that the Emperor of Water would be able to withstand such an onslaught.

”I. Propose. We. Immediately. Begin. Planning. An. Ambush. With. The. Intent. Of. Knowledge. Extraction,” Divine Mother oooo—— declared. ”With. This. Intel. I’m. Confident. We. Can. Succeed.”

Divine Mother oo— concurred. Even though the Emperor had emerged victorious, they were confident that they had seen his limits.

Now, all they needed to do was to act on this knowledge.

With the leaders of two factions having already decided upon this, they had more than enough manpower to stage a powerful assault on the Emperor of Water.

”Should. We. Bring. The. Other. Faction. Leaders. On. Board?”

Divine Mother oooo——’s eyes flared with anger. ”No. That. Traitor. Ooo—o-. Is. Responsible. For. Leaking. O-ooooo’s. Position. To. The. Enemy. She. Must. Also. Be. The. One. Who. Told. Them. About. Us. Invading. The. Arima III. System… Let’s. Keep. Her. In. The. Dark.”

The leader of the virus faction couldn’t help but agree more. Both of them despised the Pluralist Faction and its leader. Even if they tried confronting her on the problem, she would likely just deflect or offer some technical justification.

A cold smile emerged on Divine Mother oooo——’s face as she wondered what kind of expression her archenemy would make when she found out.
