The Martial Unity

By the time the two of them fully got out of bed, an hour had passed. Had Ria had school, she certainly would have missed it. But school had been canceled due to the emergency declared across Gaia due to the alien invasion, thankfully.

The shock of the revelation of not just alien life but alien civilizations and space monster tides still spread across the Kandrian Empire, the Panama Continent, and the entirety of Gaia like wildfire. Information leaks of classified intel from governmental bodies, as well as an ocean of data captured by the amateur astronomy community of Gaia.

[I know an elf who worked as a part of the guidance precision team for the long-range space laser siege weapons we have. She told me we are definitely dealing with hostile alien civilizations! They are trying to destroy us!]

[What the fuck is up with the size of that wormhole????? It’s the size of a planet! That’s much bigger than the last public project from the Panamic Space Organization conducted nine months ago on stabilizing large wormholes!]

[We are so fucking cooked! There’s no way we stand a chance! Our entire civilization will be genocided! If not, even worse!]

[Don’t be stupid! They came, and then they got their asses beat. The Emperor of Water washed them, literally! And sent them running home!]

[Running home? Are you fucking blind? Do you not see that giant ship the size of a planet hanging around at the edge of our solar system? This is why I hate normies.]

The interweb raged with debates as countless people furiously typed away in forums, arguing about what was true and what wasn’t. It created an ever-growing mess of some true information, some partially true information, and ten times as much misinformation and speculation.

Neither Rui nor his government even bothered trying to put in place an information blackout on the topic. It was impossible to hide all the information that had already spread through human civilization without going to extremely crazy lengths that simply nobody was willing to.

Instead, the Panamic Alliance and the other major polities in the world had released a joint statement on behalf of the political class to the populations in each of their civilizations. [To the citizens of the world, Over the past twenty-four hours, many highly anomalous events have occurred within our world and our solar system. From anomalous terrestrial activity, such as the series of earthquakes that spread across the world, to the large number of images of outer space and our solar system captured by many individuals and organizations detailing extra-terrestrial phenomena, including but not limited to extraterrestrial ships, vessels, lifeforms, wormholes, and even extraterrestrial bestial lifeforms.

In light of the overwhelming amount of information that has already become public and the upheaval, confusion, chaos, and panic that this has caused, we have sought to offer some clarity on everything that has happened in the past few hours.

First, we confirm the presence of various extraterrestrial phenomena within our solar system over the past twenty-four hours. In the interest of providing clarity, we have decided to declassify classified intelligence and publish broader reports clarifying, with limited detail, the truth of what has unfolded in the past twenty-four hours. We shall share the broad events that have unfolded with evidence, and provide counter-evidence to false claims that have been disseminated through the interweb in an online portal maintained in the name of the newly declared Gaian Alliance.

Secondly, we declare the protection of civilization from potentially dangerous extraterrestrial anomalies as our highest collective priority. All polities in the world collectively declare the prioritization of civilian life as the highest goal and to pursue the interests of the people of the world, civilization, and the many stakeholders within it at all costs.

Thirdly, we urge the public to remain calm and not to panic. The emergency status within our polities will remain in effect until we have received confirmation of a complete cessation of danger. We urge the public to comply with security and safety protocols within their nations and to abstain from the spread of misinformation and speculation, unless specifically confirmed from the aforementioned official sources of vetted information. We will continue releasing new information to the public in a timely manner to promote a clear and factual understanding of everything that has unfolded.

We swear to work together in a unified front to overcome mutual threats and dangers to our mutual interests and shared existence within the world of Gaia.

Thank you.]

Those words ironically caused people to get even more hyped on the most recent events that had occurred in their solar system. With an official acknowledgment from the nations of the world, not even the naysayers could deny the truth now; the only question was a matter of the degree to which the speculation was true.

The portal launched immediately after the statement was flooded with users accessing it, causing the servers to crash. While there was plenty of frustration with the process, the direct acknowledgment and declassification of intelligence to offer greater clarity earned some trust from the public.

At least for now, they abstained from indulging in the conspiracy theories that the Deep State was working with aliens to undermine the proletariat. Most importantly, it was the fact that Rui’s Transcendence and his Water had conveyed a true desire to protect them.

Even if they didn’t believe in the political institutions of the world, they believed in the Supreme Commander of the Panamic Alliance. This went even for the tekvores, who had the most reason to distrust him, for many people believed that the Panamic Alliance secretly controlled Greater Tekvoria even after withdrawing.

It was a glue that held together Gaian Civilization. And soon enough, the hastened deliberation process between all the nations on the mandate, declaration, and charter of the Gaian Alliance was complete. That same day, after issuing a joint statement, the nations of the world went on to declare the creation of the Gaian Alliance.

And at its elected leader.

Rui Quarrier, the Emperor of Water and now the Chancellor of Gaia.

It was time to negotiate with the Laminar Civilization.
