The Martial Unity

Chapter 4210: Punching Above

When Ria had seen the Martial Sage struggling on the verge of death against the homoarachnoid, she had decided to intervene then and there, much to the chagrin of her teammates, who panicked, trying to talk her out of it.

But she disagreed, choosing to intervene at the final moment. She used her Water Integument exo-Martial suit to create a razor sharp blade along her arms that allowed her to effortless cut the webbing that bound the Martial Sage. It didn’t matter to her whether her opponent was someone who had managed to take down a Martial Sage. .

She had long learned that Realms were meaningless in battle.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

-o—o-o’s eyes widened as he experienced a thundering impact with a weight of power that greatly exceeded what he would have expected from a younger female of the alien species. Her fist burrowed deeply into the gut of the creature as she thrust forth with overwhelming force, converting sparks of materia prima into a flow of power that struck the most vital spot on the creature’s body.

Her amber eyes bore deep into the depths of his body as she began to discern the flow causality that spread through it. She could feel that the creature didn’t have a singular organ that pumped its blood through its body. Its nerves were also channels of conductive web fluid rather than distinct tissue, allowing for its body to transmit signals at a much faster pace than if it had to travel from cell to cell.

She could feel the fascial web fluid that seemed to have a life of its own, able to generate a tremendous amount of power.

Power that was directed towards her.

WHOOSH!

-o—o-o’s eyes widened as the young Martial Master managed to evade a swift jab from the ascendant homoarachnoid, summersaulting away smoothly. Ria’s amber eyes never once left contact with the alien creature, studying its every move with an intense gaze.

Their eyes met as the homoarachnoid bore deep into her eyes.

Then, he froze.

He, a blessed warrior, an ascendant homoarachnoid, froze.

He froze at what he saw within the depths of her eyes.

He saw the universe.

The sum totality of everything there was. The vast cosmos, the countless galaxies and voids that filled up the ever-expanding universe, driven by dark energy, held together by gravity.

Everything.

All of it was within her eyes.

She was boundless.

The Martial Embodiment that lifeforms of the Gaian Tree of Life would normally see were invisible to aliens, since they fundamentally came from a different root of life that independently evolved outside Gaia.

And yet, her Martial Embodiment was so domineering that even the homoarachnoid could see traces of it within the depths of her eyes.

”You...” He clicked with a stunned tone of voice. ”What. Are. You?”

Her mind raced as she rapidly processed the alien’s voice, constructing models of it with her system of thought. The pattern recognition systems that her father had proliferated in the Martial community were now a more general set of data-processing systems of thought.

She, however, went beyond.

Her mind processed the patterns of the causality of her opponents themselves. Causality into the past and the future, calculating what her opponent had done to predict what he would do.

It allowed her to create something much more powerful than a predictive model.

It allowed her to create a causality model.

-o—o-o narrowed his eyes.

CLICK CLICK CLICK

”You. Shall. Come. With. Me.”

The stinger of the homoarachnoid pointed towards her, unleashing a powerful spew of web fluid that would have been too fast for any Martial Master to evade.

And yet, it was within her prediction.

WHOOSH

A single side step was enough to evade the web fluid smoothly.

And yet, the web fluid was not the attack.

It was merely an anchor for the homoarachnoid to maneuver with the help of. The stinger pulled, launching the homoarachnoid flying forward at extraordinary speeds as the creature’s arms came flying into Ria’s body, threatening to crush her flat.

And yet, she had already moved out of the way, twisting her whole body to launch a flying kick to the creature’s head.

BANG!!!

The kick was amplified with sparks of materia prima along with the power that the Water Integument suit could generate. Moreover, she had launched the attack with Death’s Sympathy.

And yet, the homoarachnoid’s brain remained intact as its stinger flashed towards Ria at lightning speeds.

Her amber eyes sharpened as her foot flew towards the stinger, kicking off of it to launch her away.

BANG!

She smoothly landed some distance away, only for -o—o-o to have already arrived, much to her surprise. The creature was about to launch a powerful attack, threatening to hurt her greatly.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!

The homoarachnoid froze as numerous impacts struck its body, catching it off guard. Plasma beams, laser beams, air blasts, and leave projectiles crashed into the creature.

And yet, the attacks were of a pitiful level of power, merely able to give Ria a moment of delay to get away. The homoarachnoid look at the source of the attacks around him with an irritated expression, spotting several other flies buzzing around him.

”Ria, are you ok?!” Runark rushed to her side with an alarmed expression.

”You were stupid, running off like that,” Misha’s voice was severe as she studied the ascendant homoarachnoid. ”This one is special.”

”We need to get out of here and let the Martial Sages take care of it,” Sternon gritted his teeth. ”We can’t deal with something that busted a Martial Sage!”

”He’s still recovering,” Ria turned towards the Martial Sage, who had taken the time to recuperate, before turning back towards the ascendant homoarachnoid with a serious expression. ”We’ll need to hold our own for a while, the entire base is doomed. These guys are way too strong to allow to run amok in this place.”

She stood up, dusting her suit, before adopting her stance once more.

”We’ll need to fight him off for as long as we can.”
