The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1470: Chapter 1470: Empty Fort Strategy

Wang Sijing’s palm pressed down on the stone tiles so quickly that it wasn’t until all the bricks had sunk into the wall that people could react.

At this moment, Wang Sijing was faced with Lin Tian in front, and Chen Moxiang and Xv Jiazhi behind. After her scheme succeeded, she didn’t choose to run forward because Lin Tian’s pressure was simply too great, so overwhelming that she had no confidence. The two behind her were different, one was an ordinary person, the other just a high-level martial artist. With her current strength, though injured, escaping was still not a problem at all.

This was the escape route Wang Sijing had thought through beforehand, so she immediately turned around, like a cunning rabbit, pushing Chen Moxiang aside and raised her left hand in a chopping gesture towards Xv Jiazhi’s forehead.

The sudden chop did not cause Xv Jiazhi to panic. He wanted to withdraw, but Wang Sijing was pressing too hard. He spread his hands and fingers into palms, using a move of Phoenix Nirvana, with one hand to block and the other thrusting forward. Attack and defense were seamless!

Unfortunately, he was just a high-level martial artist, and indeed still far inferior to Wang Sijing. His move was easily resolved by Wang Sijing with a high kick, and she slammed a palm onto his shoulder, knocking him against the wall of the corridor, causing his whole body to ache intensely.

At the same time, Wang Sijing moved as if swimming like a fish, effortlessly rushing past Xv Jiazhi. The duration was only a few seconds, like lightning.

Xv Jiazhi gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath, this woman was just too ruthless! If the strike was a bit more forceful, it would have taken his life!

Wang Sijing quickly distanced herself by twenty meters from the three people and stopped, standing there with a smug smile. She wanted to see Lin Tian and the others in distress.

The brick she pressed triggered a mechanism that would emit poisonous smoke. The strength of this poison was not clear even to Wang Sijing. After she escaped, she pressed another brick that would lift a poisonous silk along the walls of the corridor, invisible to the naked eye. If Lin Tian and the others dared to pursue, it would be certain death!

What surprised Wang Sijing was that Lin Tian did not immediately pursue her. Instead, he looked concerned as he checked on Xv Jiazhi, worried about his injuries. This annoyed Wang Sijing.

Lin Tian glanced at Xv Jiazhi’s injuries and said, ”It’s not a big problem, just bruises. Once we get back and apply some medicine, it’ll be fine, though it’s quite painful now. Just bear with it.”

”Hmm, this pain is nothing,” Xv Jiazhi said angrily as he glared at Wang Sijing not far away, his brows and eyes full of anger.

Chen Moxiang was observing the surroundings, noticing that after quite a while, nothing had changed within the corridor, and he said, ”Lin Tian, what mechanism did she trigger just now? Why is there no reaction now?”

Lin Tian gently shook his head, ”I don’t know. But one thing is certain, that woman standing not far away is luring us. It’s not rational to chase her now.”

”Then why don’t we just ignore her and keep moving forward?” Chen Moxiang suggested.

”No way. Who knows what else this woman has planned. Letting her follow behind us poses a great threat.”

Their conversation was soft, so Wang Sijing could only faintly hear some parts, and even then, it was unclear. What concerned her now wasn’t why Lin Tian wasn’t pursuing, but why wasn’t the poisonous smoke appearing?

Could it be, it was colorless and odorless?

This guess was quickly dismissed by her; the Wang Family didn’t have any colorless and odorless poisonous smoke.

But Lin Tian and the others didn’t dare to act recklessly. They were even more anxious than Wang Sijing.

After waiting for about five minutes with nothing happening, when Lin Tian finally decided to move forward, Wang Sijing suddenly prepared to leave as well. She knew that continuing to wait here wouldn’t trick the cunning Lin Tian, so she might as well exit the underground palace and report this matter to the ancestors.

With the strength of two ancestors, coupled with the treacherous nature of the underground palace, Lin Tian would surely meet his end.

At this point, Wang Sijing’s eyes were blinded by hatred. Her path of cultivation was secondary; only by raising the butcher’s knife and killing Lin Tian could she dispel the darkness in her heart and face the proper path again.

Wang Sijing wanted to leave, but Lin Tian naturally wouldn’t allow it to happen. If that were the case, it would be simply too foolish. So he cast aside all doubts in his mind, even knowing that Wang Sijing was waiting for him to chase after her, he was unwavering!

The muscles in his legs were filled with spiritual qi, with every cell awaiting a burst of power. Lin Tian, like a leopard in the night, his eyes fixed with a red gaze on the prey, chased after her at his fastest speed.

Hearing the sound of pursuit behind her, Wang Sijing turned her head back to see Lin Tian approaching, a faint smile playing on her lips, her happiness evident on her face.

Only five meters to go, and he’ll hit the poisonous silk!

Five meters away, a young man’s fastest speed wouldn’t take a second. And for Lin Tian, it was merely a flash.

Lin Tian surpassed the area where the poisonous silk was, yet he still rushed towards her unstoppable. This panicked Wang Sijing!

How could this be? What happened to the poisonous smoke? The poisonous silk?

She knew the silk was specially treated, possessing immense stickiness and toughness. At Lin Tian’s previous speed, crashing into it would definitely slice him into bloody pieces, tragic and unsightly!

But now, nothing happened!

Wang Sijing felt hopeless, abandoning her escape, acknowledging it as futile.

Finally, Lin Tian stood before her, choking her neck and raising her high, slamming her heavily against the corridor wall.

This was the first time Wang Sijing was choked by someone, the suffocating sensation turning her face completely red. Both hands tried to pry Lin Tian’s grip while her feet kicked at him, exerting every possible effort to break free.

At this moment, Wang Sijing struggled to breathe, wanting to curse but only producing indistinct sounds.

Seeing Wang Sijing’s flushed face and bulging neck, Lin Tian snorted heavily, releasing his pent-up frustration before letting go, allowing her to fall freely like a boneless body, sitting on the floor, greedy for air, occasionally coughing like she had just returned from the brink.

Lin Tian crouched down as well, his gaze piercing her. In a chilling tone, he said, ”Trying to sing an empty city stratagem with me? Pressing a false brick and running far away, waiting for me to chase you. I almost fell for it, thinking there was something tricky there. But you underestimated my courage and your own worth. If you want to escape, even if it’s risky, I’ll catch you back. It’s better than sitting here waiting helplessly!”
