The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1233: Chapter 1233: the Wang Family Casino

Hearing that Lin Tian was finally going to tell him the truth, LuuYong even forgot to light his cigarette. He clenched the lighter in a death grip, staring at Lin Tian with full attention, afraid of missing a single word.

”You know it too, I’ve got a lot of bad blood with the Wang Family. By now there’s no way to smooth things over. Those three card rooms in Kanyue City rake in astronomical numbers every day, and that really cuts into my other businesses in Kanyue City. Plus they’re trading contraband in there. Public or private, those three joints all have to be taken down.”

This outcome was something LuuYong had already guessed, but hearing Lin Tian say it himself still gave him a jolt of fear and disappointment. The cigarette dangling from his lips almost fell off.

He hadn’t expected... he was still getting dragged into this whirlpool after all.

”Don’t freak out. This time we really are going there to play. Of course, you can understand it as going there to win money. If we want to topple all these card rooms, it’s not something you do just by talking. We have to go in and test the waters, and before that, win a big pile of cash.” Lin Tian said with a grin.

LuuYong let out a long breath of relief and then said, ”So it really is just going there to play...”

”What else did you think?”

LuuYong still felt something off, but he couldn’t say what exactly. He lit his cigarette and took two fierce drags. His slow brain finally caught up and he blurted out in shock, ”Tian, can you be sure we can win?”

Lin Tian nodded with a smile. ”Yeah, and we’ll win a lot. A thief never walks away empty-handed. We may not be thieves, but we’ll follow the same rule. See that box in the back? We won’t even need to use much of that money.”

LuuYong knew Lin Tian was a very capable man, and however he planned on winning, he definitely wasn’t going to tell him. Even if he did tell him, he wouldn’t dare use it. At the end of the day it was just cheating, and with his clumsy hands, if he got caught, they’d be taking more than a few fingers.

He also had another question weighing on his mind—if it wasn’t answered, he wouldn’t be able to calm down. So he asked bluntly, ”But if we win that much money, they won’t just let us walk out, right?”

Lin Tian snorted. ”A card room that only lets you lose but won’t let you win—how the hell does that make sense? If it was really like that, who would dare go there? If his place doesn’t get smashed to bits, that’d be the real joke. And even if they don’t let us leave, so what? Those people at the card room still can’t stop us.”

”But... why are you taking me along?” LuuYong said with a long face. This question really gave him a headache.

Wu Yong also looked at Lin Tian, totally puzzled. In his eyes this guy had nothing going for him—put it bluntly, he was just a useless piece of trash. Why bring a piece of trash along when you’re going to win money? Better to bring Pang Yu, Hawkeye, or Scarface Monkey. At least those guys used to be Ye Feng’s men, quick with their hands and feet; gambling shouldn’t be any problem for them.

”You made a contribution in that Wang Sicong matter, but you ended up suffering so many days in Lion Tower instead. What’s wrong with letting you earn a bit back? Besides, we’re going to have to rely on you later when it’s time to make money.” Lin Tian said with a half-smile.

If he hadn’t asked it’d be one thing, but now that he did, even more question marks popped up over LuuYong’s head. Rely on him? This had to be a joke, right?

”T-Tian, I don’t know how to gamble!” LuuYong was on the verge of tears. This was just playing people to death.

”I’m here, what are you scared of, for fuck’s sake? When the time comes, just play it by ear.”

”Play it by ear how?”

Lin Tian wasn’t in a hurry. He said slowly and leisurely, ”I’ll teach you a few hand signals. When I flash a certain sign, you just do what it tells you.”

LuuYong nodded dumbly, mumbling ”okay” under his breath.

They chatted idly along the way and soon reached the entrance of the card room. Naturally, there had to be some kind of cover at the entrance; otherwise wouldn’t they just be waiting to get busted? Like Bai Shishi’s old card room, for example, which used a teahouse as a front. And of course not just any gambler could walk in—there was a VIP system and you needed a friend’s recommendation to get in.

For this card room of the Wang Family, the front was just an ordinary department store, with entrances all over the place. There were people wandering around inside buying stuff.

”This isn’t the card room I came to last time, but I’ve been here once. Didn’t play much and left. There are a lot of entrances; you need a magnetic card to get in, and it’s in the basement.” Wu Yong said.

”Got it, let’s just head in.” Lin Tian unbuckled his seat belt as he spoke.

LuuYong stayed sitting in his seat, not wanting to move. He really wanted to tell Lin Tian he wasn’t going, but he didn’t think he could handle the consequences. It was like a duck being shoved onto the perch—head hanging low, he unbuckled his seat belt, opened the car door, and went in.

The three of them walked into the mall, completely ignoring the dazzling array of goods. With Wu Yong leading the way, they wound around two corners. After passing through a side door, there were no more products here. All that faced them was an iron door with a seal sticker, on which was written: ”No entry for non-staff.”

Wu Yong took out a magnetic card, swiped it through the gap between the doors, and the door slid aside like an elevator door, the seal sticker not even twitching.

LuuYong was stunned. ”This is way too high-tech, isn’t it?”

Wu Yong laughed. ”High-tech my ass. It’s just a door with a card reader embedded behind it. Doesn’t cost much. But for secrecy, it’s not bad.”

While he was talking, the door had already opened. Behind it was indeed an elevator. There were buttons for eight floors. Wu Yong went ahead and pressed several floor buttons in a row, lighting them up before stopping.

”That’s my personal password. Everyone’s code is different. If you press the wrong combo that doesn’t match the magnetic card, you won’t get to the card room.” Wu Yong said.

Lin Tian rolled his eyes twice and chuckled. ”This card room is set up like some kind of secret base. Looks like their confidentiality is pretty tight.”

”Of course. If it wasn’t tight, the people backing the Wang Family wouldn’t allow them to open a card room in Kanyue City. And they didn’t just open one, they opened three. They’ve really got some fucking nerve.”

LuuYong stood behind the two men without saying a word. Back in the car, Lin Tian had already taught him several hand signs and eye signals, and he’d memorized them all. But his heart was still pounding—looked like he really was going to have to get on the table himself.

The card room was in the basement, so the elevator took only two or three seconds to descend. When the elevator doors opened, the noisy sounds outside and a clean, fragrant scent rushed in all at once. It was like the elevator door separated two completely different worlds.

”Heh heh, Wang Family card room, your daddy is back!” Wu Yong shouted loudly before he even stepped out of the elevator, letting out the swagger in his chest.

In this noisy environment, his shout didn’t attract anyone’s attention. The three of them walked out of the elevator, two in front and one behind. Aside from Wu Yong being excited and waving his hands around, Lin Tian and LuuYong were both sizing up this card room.

The first two words that popped into their heads were ”big” and ”luxurious.”

And it really was big and luxurious. Every gaming table and setup had people crowding around it. Besides traditional gambling tables, there were also many computer-operated online card setups. No matter which kind, business was booming.
