The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1843: Protect the Silverstars (1)

Princess Selene faced the meteor with a somber smile.

She has no idea what to do next.

In the past, she had been cornered several times already when her life was in the hands of others. But every single time, the instinct of a werewolf took over her, and she would fight to the death without any shred of hesitation.

A cornered and wounded animal is always the most dangerous.

Now, there was no such feeling.

She was cornered with death already right behind her, but her body didn’t feel the need to fight back.

Perhaps it knew that against Gods, she might as well accept her fate.

It was especially so when the Gods she was facing were the very Gods whom she worshipped throughout her entire life. ’But he had said how he sees this,’ She recalled the words of the Origin in the distant past that was still vivid in her mind. ’Grace of the moon. Demanded sacrifices. A new age. Nothing of that mattered.

’If it comes down to it, we are werewolves,’ Princess Selene’s King Mark manifested on her forehead. Its source of power was from the Lunirich Gods, but she worked hard for this. This power is hers as much as it was borrowed. ”A violent death is a werewolf’s dream. Come. Let us see if today is the day of my dream come true!”

Her roar was loud, powerful, noble.

But against the descending crimson meteor that charred the air—and tore down the dimension, it rang hollow. Against the might of Gods, what can a mortal even do? There are limits. There are reasons why Gods are Gods.

Rumble—!

A wave of ungodly energy bursts as the meteor neared.

Mana and varying energies that lingered in the air were replaced by one type of energy. Hard soil turned to blood. Soon enough, Princess Selene, the Silverstar Pack, and the other werewolves would be turned the same.

Smashed into blood.

But a figure came.

It streaked from beyond the endless sea of blood that surrounded the valley with the sound of thunder.

For a second, Princess Selene rubbed her eyes to make sure she was seeing it right.

”Royal Black Prince?”

Not too far away, Sintra also looked up, ”Right! The perfect clone!”

Evelyn turned in the direction where Sintra was looking and saw the same thing. Rex’s clone, which was stationed nearby, cuts through the air like a bullet and hovered right below the massive meteor. His entire form was supercharged by the amount of moonlight energy in the area.

’If the clone dies, Rex would sense our peril,’ Her eyes sparkled. ’I thought the clone couldn’t form a coherent thought, but it seemed the clone still inherited his ferocious protectiveness. Is it really normal for someone to be this extreme?’

Boom—!

Rex’s clone stopped right underneath the meteor.

Crimson light wrapped his form in silhouette, casting his shadow across the ground like a blade’s edge.

Sensing the enormous power, the clone shifted into his werewolf form and unleashed a devastating roar. One that could reach further away. One that could even be heard by Kaiser and Meloriana. A declaration that tonight will not go the way they wanted.

A perfect clone’s power is nearly one hundred percent of the main body.

It is also connected to the main body.

Rex’s ascension to an Awakened Demigod also meant the same for the perfect clone.

Might not be an immediate effect, but the traces were evident.

Everyone watched in awe as the clone’s power exploded once more, rippling through the air like a tidal wave of moonlight energy. His back was strong and wide, exactly like how the Werewolf Origin protects its descendants back in the ancient era.

A back that will never yield, no matter the situation.

Ancient Humans blotted out the sky with their hatred and pompous arrogance of self-perceived higher race status, and the Werewolf Origin stood against them, sacrificing himself in the process. However, his unyielding will carried the werewolves through the ages, ensuring their survival to this day.

It was the Lunirich Gods for Rex, and right now, he’s going to set the direction the same.

Boom—!

Every pair of eyes below watched as the clone burst with speed, charging straight at the meteor.

One could feel the moonlight energy—and lunar mana inside him was making violent laps throughout his whole body, a sign of overload. A ripple of blinding white expanded like a ring with a kick against the air as the clone went even faster.

And in the next second, it slammed against the meteor with a world-ending impact.

CRACK—!

The impact carved cracks across the meteor’s massive size, and then shattered it into countless pieces.

”He shattered it!” Sintra exclaimed in complete shock.

Just seconds ago, she thought everyone would need to use everything they had to stop the meteor from destroying the whole world. A few survivors would be the best-case scenario. But the perfect clone made quick work of the meteor.

”Of course, he did,” Evelyn smiled at the sight.

No doubt in her heart.

But the situation was far from over.

Countless devastating pieces of the meteor were still descending, carrying the remnants of its power.

From the heart of the area, Miriam swirled upward as her entire form gleamed with moonlight.

She was whispering a chant as she swirled upward using a foreign language.

Once she completed the chant with a ferocious howl, and threw her arms upward. A massive sphere ignited above her head, blazing with pulsating power. Then, through her sense awareness that covered the entire area and beyond, the sphere unleashed frantic beams of moonlight, shattering the meteor fragments long before they could crater the earth and turn the land to waste.

As one of the strongest Shamans from the Ancient Era, she wasn’t going to stand idly and watch as more of her kin got obliterated.

Having someone like her was crucial for the situation.

Gistella could’ve done the same, but she couldn’t do anything in her condition.

Heck, even Evelyn was only able to think properly with Sintra’s help.

Crash—!

A streak of light slammed into the ground a hundred meters away from Evelyn’s position.

Climbing out of the crater a second later was the clone.

It wasn’t the impact from the meteor that brought him crashing down like this. The gaping hole in his stomach with crumbling edges like glass made it clear that it was caused by another attack. Most likely from Kaiser, after watching him shatter the meteor.

Evelyn stared at him with wide-open eyes as he struggled to crawl towards her.

She also realized when he emerged fully that one of his legs was also gone.

But her eyes soon fixated on his right hand that was gripping a crimson core that twirled with crimson energy. It was not moonlight energy—nor was it his lunar mana. It was something else. Something that Evelyn didn’t recognize.

At least not until the energy was close enough for her to feel.

It was the surge that she felt earlier from when the Blood Moon splits opened.

The clone placed the core before Evelyn, and then he slowly reached his hand towards her.

Evelyn didn’t know what he wanted, but she leaned closer.

He wiped the blood trickling from Evelyn’s lips gently. Then, with his clawed index finger, he used it to draw a crude formation around the crimson core using her blood. Sintra watched closely at what he was making, and recognition dawned.

”Rite of Kaiser?” She muttered unconsciously.

As soon as the clone finished drawing the rite and it started to envelop the core, his hand fell aside, and his body went limp. Like a puppet that had already accomplished what it was made for, it disappears into fragments of light.

”What is the meaning of this?”

Evelyn was at a loss.

She didn’t know what the clone was trying to achieve by making this.

[He’s trying to give you, along with Adhara and Gistella, more divine strands to sustain the pressure. You should quickly grab the core and take in the divine strands generated.]

Evelyn did exactly that.

Not even hesitating for a second longer, she grabbed the core and immediately felt the divine strands, which were purer and denser than any energy she had ever wielded, seeping into her energy glow. It was overwhelming, and she could instantly feel it working.

Rapidly, the painful ringing in her mind disappears.

And she still has more divine strands to spare, so she used her Luna energy to siphon them to the others.

’How did he even do this?’ She thought in confusion, staring at the crimson object. ’What is this core?’

It looked squishy, wet, and contained immense energy.

[It’s the heart of one of those things. Godlings. Go ahead and look up.]

Evelyn tilted her head skyward—and saw thousands upon thousands of peering predatory eyes staring down at the world from the godly portal. Judging from their shadowed features, they looked identical to werewolves, but came from the higher plane.

[He must’ve attacked one of them after shattering the meteor, and managed to grab its heart—before Kaiser put him down. I must say, when it comes to how ferociously protective and physically caring, your Alpha might even be more extreme than mine.]

Of course, hearing that compliment made her blush.

But she quickly shook her head in disbelief that she could even feel that in a situation like this.

Regardless, her blood boiled with determination.

’That’s all the more reason we need to survive this. Since the clone is now dead—he must have noticed what was going on here already,’ Evelyn looked up again. A sense of dread crept over her. She could feel immense danger from the eyes staring down at the world. ’We need to buy time.’

At the same time, Princess Selene returned.

Not too long after, the others also regrouped and gathered around.

”Your Majesty, we can leave this place,” Valkis stepped forward—and voiced out his findings. ”I think we are isolated from the rest of the world in this pocket dimension. Many of us tried to break through, but our power couldn’t even pierce the surface.”

”And from their number,” Malvok added, looking up at their enemies. ”I think we outnumbered them at least two to one.”

”Don’t worry,” Evelyn answered. Her voice rang with certainty and assurance, giving the idea that this situation is not hopeless as long as she’s around. ”The Alpha knew of our situation. All we need to do is hold on long enough until he returns.”

”Besides, this is our realm,” Adhara rose to her feet with dominating might.

Her body transformed into the ferocious silver werewolf with mirror-like eyes that reflected the deep and profound power of the White Omicron as she stood beside Evelyn. ”This is our territory. We’re not helpless here.”

On the other side, Gistella’s black heart pulsated with death energy.

Glistening steel scales wrapped around her werewolf body like armor as she towered over the others.

Immediately, the others went into formation with the Silverstars and Princess Selene at the center.

”Here they come!” Sintra announced when she saw Kaiser making a signal with his hand.

Countless blood-red higher planes werewolves leaped down from the portal, phasing through the world energy that was shielding the Mortal Realm, and crashing around the valley with thunderous cracks. Thousands of them descended.

Menacing growls echoed like a haunting melody from a nightmare.

Each brought the promise of death and a sea of blood to the whole world.

But as they dropped down, Evelyn sensed something from behind.

Rushed footsteps and a rumbling growl that made her lips curl upward.

”And on top of everything, it seemed we were also graced with one more significant help.”

ROAR—!

Everyone looked up and was surprised when they saw a massive white figure leaping over them.

A figure that all of them instantly recognized—Sven.

With a vicious snarl that carried both the thrill of hatred and excitement, Sven charged straight at the enemies before they could make their first move. His powerful hind legs launched him high and far as his stature eclipsed the red eye in the sky with his shadow.
