The Great Thief

“Young one, you are really greedy. I don’t have any more equipment. All that are left are the really bad ones and a few potions,” Old Fordring said helplessly, “But according to the rules, I can’t give them to you until you complete the Quest.” Lu Li then went on to trigger some quests that could be completed in the Instance Dungeon.

Some of the quest rewards were given to Lu Li in advance. They were all Potions and items that could be used in the Instance Dungeon. It seemed that Old Fordring was quite familiar with the Instance Dungeon, as they were Shadow Resistance Potions, Ice Resistance Potions, and Poison Resistance Potions.

Naxx required Ice Resistance, but that wasn’t the only one they needed it. There were also a lot of Dark and Poison attacks that were used especially from the Necromancers and Frankensteins. For now, Nature Resistance and Shadow Resistance were not less important than Ice, even Arcane Resistance was occasionally useful.

According to Lu Li’s memory, the only thing that Naxx didn’t require was Fire Resistance. These were all really good items. Lu Li got a hug from Old Fordring before leaving Tyr’s Hand to find the NPC that would send them to the Instance Dungeon.

He didn’t ask Old Fordring to help out with this fight. If he asked for it, it was likely that Old Fordring would just send someone to follow Lu Li, just like when Lu Li was trying to take back Tyr’s Hand. The Game Company would only let the NPCs participate in Instance Dungeons to a certain extent, but they couldn’t let the NPCs participate every time.

The Instance Dungeons were designed for players after all. When he got to the meeting spot, Lu Li took out the equipment and started apportioning them. There were four Epics, two of which were for Mages, one for a Paladin and one for a Warrior. These were all items that competitive players could use. Lu Li distributed it as if they were Boss drops, which meant that they costed DKP.

In fact, this equipment had been independently acquired by him, so it wouldn’t have mattered even if he sold them. He was no longer the poor boy that would sell his soul for one or two million dollars. One or two million dollars was still a decent amount of money, but he had bigger goals in mind. He wasn’t just single-mindedly pursuing money.

After splitting the four equipment, Lu Li’s gaze fell onto Fat Monkey. “Boss,” Fat Monkey chimed as sweetly as he could in anticipation. Everyone around them felt sick when they heard it, but they also knew that it was this guy’s lucky day.

“This is yours,” Lu Li threw over the rare equipment.

“Boss, surely we aren’t that poor, that I would have to beg just to support my family,” Fat Monkey knew that this item was an exquisite one. But he supressed his impulse to look at its attributes and took a moment to appreciate its appearance which he was actually kind of disappointed by.

“I’m going to empty your DKP and offset the money that the guild owes you,” Lu Li said sullenly.

“Boss, that’s 3000 gold coins!” Fat Monkey sighed, there was only a little sorrow in his voice. If Lu Li was deducting all his DKP and 3000 gold coins, this equipment had to be something else.

He glanced at the equipment’s properties and almost fainted with happiness.

If Fat Monkey shot a fireball with his current equipment, he would deal at least 600-800 damage if the target wasn’t wearing any Fire Resistance. If he could get five hits in, he could easily deal over 5000 damage.

Any more hits and he would easily win any fight.

“The ninth fireball is four and a half times more powerful. So, if all nine fireballs hit then the damage is 20 times more,” Moonlight looked over and answered in an instant.

“We just don’t know how easy it is to hit them,” Water Fairy said enviously. Unfortunately, it wasn’t equipment she could use even if she wanted to try it. Lu Li had brought four items, and one of them had gone to Drizzle Court, so he had already done his duty.

“Let me try it,” Fat Monkey challenged Lu Li to a duel.

“Oh, is this how you are going to repay me?” Lu Li sneered and accepted the challenge before entering into Stealth.

Fat Monkey pouted, “Why did you go into Stealth? Just stand there and let me try it.”

“How many people will stand there and let you hit them? I bet you can’t even hit me with five of the fireballs,” Lu li appeared behind Fat Monkey and plunged his dagger into the back of Fat Monkey’s head. But Fat Monkey didn’t give Lu Li a chance to deal any real damage, as he dispelled the crowd control and split into several images. It was really hard to tell these images apart!

All these Fat Monkeys used a big fireball against Lu Li. This time, Lu Li chose not to use Gale Steps or Vanish to help Fat Monkey test his skill, but he could still try to avoid them. He was trying to dodge or use some escape-type skills.

Fat Monkey’s Rapid Nine Star was finally casted. A series of fireballs rushed over and slammed into Lu Li. The trajectory of the fireballs seemed to be controllable, and the interval between fireballs was very short. If the person didn’t have a really fast reaction, they would have already been hit by all the fireballs by the time they realised what was happening. Of the nine fireballs, four of them hit Lu Li.

If it wasn’t for Lu Li deliberately trying to escape, there probably would have been more that hit him.

Of course, if he used a skill like Gale Steps or Vanish, he would have been hit by even fewer fireballs. But this didn’t mean that Rapid Nine Star was bad. You could instead crowd control the target first before using this skill.

For example, Lu Li could hold someone down with his crowd control, then Fat Monkey could use Rapid Nine Star on the target.

“Hey, I should be able to turn faster next time. I think I know how to change the fireball’s direction. It feels pretty good,” Fat Monkey’s natural talent was obvious, he had already learnt a lot even though he had only used the skill once.

“Practice it a little more. it would be a very good sneak attack,” Lu Li was also very satisfied with the effect of this equipment.

Besides, the other effect was a resurrection at 50% HP. It didn’t say that it couldn’t be used in the arena, so Fat Monkey was likely to become even more popular in the next match.

Of course, Lu Li’s weapon was also really strong, but he didn’t intend to tell anyone. It wasn’t that he couldn’t, but that he didn’t need to. Perhaps he could tell Water Fairy about it in private, but her equipment was also actually quite good so she probably wouldn’t be that impressed anyway.

Lu Li held on to all the potions. There were also some potions that he got from Cold Chill and some Maintenance Robots prepared for this First Clear attempt. These all went into the guild’s account. As the club began to standardize these things, it was no longer a confusing model of having different people holding different items.
