The Golem Mage

820: Big Three Appearance.

About three middle-aged men in black attire shuffled through the carefully planted vegetation near Alec’s house, but the moment they stepped into the courtyard, they froze, seated calmly on the deck of Alec’s home was the Fifth Elder of the Gordons clan, patiently waiting for them.

“Ohhh, one, two… ahh, some big numbers,” the Fifth Elder mused lazily, as his gaze sharp as it fell on them.

“Now tell me, what are three unknown Tier 7 mages doing in the young master’s courtyard at this hour?”

“It’s just a fat elder of the Gordons,” the mage in front sneered, noting the flicker of unease in his companions’ eyes.

“He’s not on the list of elders we need to be cautious of, let’s take him out quietly.”

None of them had expected to run into anyone here after infiltrating the Gordons estate, but since they had, retreat wasn’t an option, they’d already been paid to eliminate Alec, and abandoning the mission now wasn’t something any of them was willing to risk.

To the mage in the middle, killing an extra elder was just an added fee, nothing more, but the Fifth Elder smirked, immediately catching on to how little they thought of him.

“You mongrels still haven’t answered my question, I had a hunch this is where I’d find the intruders, and if you’re thinking of playing silent games, let me warn you — it won’t work.” He said, rising slightly, his voice calm but carrying a dangerous edge.

Their faces darkened, as from what the Fifth Elder said, it was clear someone had tipped him off.

The thought flashed through each of their minds that one of them betrayed, but it hardly mattered now, as each and everyone of them thought of their new goal at that moment, which was to kill both the Fifth Elder and Alec, then get out fast before any more trouble arrived since it seems their mission was compromised, they just felt lucky that only one elder seems to know about it at the moment .

Weapons shifted in their grips, tension thick in the air as they prepared to strike, but just as they were about to lunge forward, a figure suddenly burst into the courtyard from the left, drawing every gaze toward the new arrival.

Funny enough, they didn’t recognize him, his face wasn’t among the images of mages they’d been warned to watch out for, which to them meant he wasn’t supposed to be anyone special.

But the leader of their small group was silently cursing in his head, wondering why a Tier 7 mage wasn’t recorded on the list given to them.

He could understand leaving out the Fifth Elder, who was only releasing a Tier 6 aura, but for someone clearly at Tier 7 to be unmentioned made no sense, and that alone made him uneasy.

“Ohh, Mr.

Terran, what brings you here?” the Fifth Elder asked, his tone casual.

“Well I sensed an unfamiliar mana that didn’t belong to your clan, figured I’d come take a look.

Who would’ve thought you were already here handling things.” Terran replied with a faint smile.

“Me?

Oh, no, no.

There’s no way I could handle three Tier 7 mages by myself,” the Fifth Elder chuckled, waving a hand.

“I was just keeping them company, making conversation, bidding my time till my elder brother arrives.”

Terran raised an eyebrow at that, he knew what he’d seen the moment he burst into the courtyard, those three mages in black were seconds away from making a move on the Fifth Elder, and yet there wasn’t a trace of fear or concern on the elder’s face.

That alone told Terran this man didn’t consider them a threat at all, and now, hearing him downplay the situation so dramatically only confirmed what Terran had long suspected: the Gordons were hiding their strength.

He didn’t know why they all seemed to put on this act, but what he did know was that Alec wasn’t like that, that boy drew trouble like a magnet instead of avoiding it, honestly, it reminded Terran of himself back in the day.

“Enough chit-chat!” the mage in the middle barked, his patience snapping.

“You two, handle the newcomer.

I’ll deal with this noisy elder.”

Without waiting for a reply, he dashed forward, no longer caring about what either of them had to say, in his eyes, they’d wasted enough of his time already.

But despite all that time, he hadn’t seen the slightest movement from the room behind the Fifth Elder, making him wonder whether Alec was truly inside or if this was an elaborate trap laid out for them.

Just as he took another step forward, the ground beneath him gave way, in an instant, the earth softened like quicksand, swallowing him up to his neck before hardening again with a snap, leaving only his head visible above the surface.

The remaining two, who had been charging toward Terran, skidded to a stop, eyes widening in shock at the sudden turn of events, from the very ground itself, the Gordons Patriarch slowly rose, his gaze cold and fixed on the trapped mage below.

“Finally, I can take a break,” the Fifth Elder muttered with a grin as he watched the Patriarch emerge.

“Run!

It’s the Gordons Patriarch!” one of the two mages still free shouted, instinctively trying to flee.

But before either of them could take a second step, the Patriarch vanished and reappeared between them in a smooth, fluid motion, both hands swinging back as he effortlessly caught up.

The sight of someone moving through the ground like a shadow on water made their eyes bulge in disbelief, but they were Tier 7 mages, and no one at that level reached it by being weak, both of them swung their swords, attempting to trap him in a pincer strike, but the Patriarch’s movements were sharp and precise, as he weaved between the blades, and with a casual motion and caught both swords in his bare hands.

The mages stared in shock, he was holding their weapons back like it was nothing.

“Mud,” the Patriarch said calmly, at his word, the ground beneath them turned swampy and unstable, clinging to their feet like wet clay and slowly pulling them down.

“Fuck you!” one of the mages snarled, letting go of his sword as he realised he couldn’t pry the blade off the patriarch’s hand, he swiftly grabbed a dagger at his waist in a fluid motion, thrusting it forward in desperation, only to feel the cold, unforgiving touch of a blade against his neck before he could move an inch further.

Which made him freeze in place, slowly, the mage turned his head to see where the cold edge pressing against his neck had come from, only to spot the tip of a blade emerging from a swirling mass of black smoke that had silently materialized behind him.

From within the smoke, a figure clad in black armour stepped out, the iron plates scraping ominously as it moved.

The figure fully revealed itself, a dark knight-like golem, its armour lined with faint red hues that traced along its edges.

Where its eyes should have been, a single crimson orb glowed menacingly from within the helm.

“Thank you, Cyclops,” George said with a smirk to his golem, a one-eyed, great sword-wielding Golem that looked like a perfect iron golem — though forged from a darker, ominous metal.

The third mage, seeing his partner so easily caught, felt a wave of dread wash over him and instinctively tried to retreat.

But without realizing it, something had already crept up on him, another golem, this one formed from a smooth white stone, had surfaced from the ground without a sound.

Its shape was humanoid, reminiscent of how Magnito once appeared before his evolution: a facial features along with a armorless figure, a blank expressionless face and featureless body.

It moved through the ground almost as if it had bypassed the earth itself, much like the Patriarch’s earth teleportation technique.

And before the mage could fully grasp what was happening, the white golem coiled its arms around him from behind in a crushing embrace.

In the next instant, its body merged and hardened, transforming into a solid block of white stone that completely encased the struggling mage.

“Thanks, White,” the Patriarch said with a satisfied nod.

With the help of his two Golems , he had immobilized three Tier 7 mages in less than twenty seconds, letting the blade in his hand clatter to the ground, he turned and began walking back toward the first mage, who was still trapped neck-deep in the earth, unable to move.

“The big three Golems of the Gordons Patriarch… so they weren’t just a legend after all.

And from the feel of it, two of them have already reached the Tier 7 realm, you’ve been hiding yourself well, George Gordons,” the mage muttered, though the Patriarch didn’t seem the least bit bothered by his words.

“Well, would you look at that, saves us the need for introductions, then.

Since you already know who I am, let’s cut the small talk and get straight to the point — who sent you?” George replied, a cold smile creeping onto his face.

As he spoke, his expression darkened, a sinister grin twisting his features while a suffocating aura began to roll off him like a creeping mist, the mage, still buried in the earth with only his neck above ground, felt an uncontrollable shiver run through his body, as the weight of that malevolent pressure was making him tremble involuntarily.
