The Golem Mage

He had always hated Alec for how his fate had changed after his defeat to him, but as time wore on and the chasm between their strengths widened, Liam had chosen to swallow his pride and lay low, in order not to draw Alec’s attention to him that much after all he had already offended Alec one too many times and doesn’t believe that just by asking Alec to forgive him all of the grievances between them would be concluded.

However the fragile peace he had built for himself away from family pressure shattered the moment he realized that the new lord that is said to be stirring up storms in the wilderness region was none other than Alec.

The old, festering resentment he had suppressed then surged back to life, yet even after plotting and weaponizing the Tudor twins against him, the scheme to conquer Alec’s domain had crumbled.

Now, all Liam wanted was to survive, he no longer gave a damn about how Alec lived or rule, he only cared about keeping his own domain intact.

David, however, saw straight through his panic and sneered inwardly.

To David, Liam was merely a pawn, one he intended to fling directly at Alec when the moment was right, so Liam’s dreaming of neutrality or escaping from this battle was nothing short of delusion; as David would never permit it.

To him it was either Liam soiled his hands alongside him, or he was ready to butcher Liam personally and seize his city.

With the fusion of the Five Kingdoms region underway, David no longer feared executing rival lords.

His next plan was already set, he planned to flee toward the Northern Kingdom the instant the boundary isolating them from the rest of the Origin Realm collapsed.

Cataclysms like this had occurred before when the Origin Realm would devour the neighboring smaller realms into itself, however back then, it wasn’t fragmented into many wills like this.

But David knew one absolute truth, and that was every time a countless small realm was being swallowed, the existing ruling families would only grow more formidable if they could continue to establish their rule among the cities under them.

And that is because the world’s will would infuse those a

That act as the main city with so much power that they would inevitably have a King’s Seal,

And a King’s Seal was far more powerful than a simple City Lord Seal. In David’s mind, if the Tudor royal clan of the Northern Kingdom could bring the five ancient clans under them and bestow Great Lord Seals upon them, the Northern Kingdom would inevitably rise as a new dominant powerhouse.

Since the five ancient clans of the North had historically served as vassals to the royal line, he gave the matter little second thought, treating their submission as an impending certainty.

Just then, Liam received an update claiming that Alec’s territory was under siege from every direction and seems to be teetering on the brink of collapse.

It was a slightly older message left by a lord from the Wilderness Realm; ever since Alec’s sharp rise made its mark, regional lords had grown obsessed with tracking news about him, and after a few lords around him swiftly realized that everyone craved updates on his progress they turned it to a job of theirs.

Seeing the message in the regional chat channel brought an instant surge of satisfaction to David.

Liam on the other hand remained skeptical at first about the authentication of the information, but gradually relaxed; feeling that this was the Origin Realm and not the Five kingdom region, after all, and Alec couldn’t simply pull miracles out of thin air indefinitely.

In truth, Liam would be more than glad if Alec were utterly obliterated by the attacking forces as it would save him the cultivating demon that had taken root in his heart.

Yet the two Tudor clansmen were far from the only ones reveling in the new, that is because numerous neighboring lords who had previously acted meek and docile around Alec’s borders were now laughing openly at his misfortune.

Only a handful of the wiser figures found themselves torn between what’s to wish for because they believe I’d they were to wish for Alec’s downfall it meant that the beastkin, the Zergs, and the Sea Race threats his domain which he has been single-handedly holding at bay would be completely free to unleash on the rest of the human territories.

And when that happens, they might be the ones in danger next, however if they wished him well, they believe it would only add to his already high prestige.

They had been lords in the Wilderness Region far longer than Alec, yet their names had never resounded so loudly, and it made many of them jealous, while others simply wished to see Alec’s domain destroyed, nothing more.

However, as for the lord who had dropped the news that Alec’s domain looked like it would soon be destroyed, he still couldn’t believe what he was seeing with his own eyes.

Though he had been watching the battle for a while now, and should have already changed his message based on the fact that Alec’s military mage units all seemed to be doing a good job of keeping their invaders at bay, he was simply too engrossed in what he was witnessing to even realize that the message he had dropped in the group had caused many of the nearby lords, who had already grown jealous of Alec, to openly laugh and claim that it was Heaven’s will for his domain to be destroyed in the chat.

All of these lords had always been wary of Alec’s might. They had all heard how Alec had been responsible for the deaths of numerous city lords, and how he could accomplish it without even sending out a massive army.

That was precisely why many of them felt scared of him because they would never be able to tell when Alec was targeting them, he could even have his golem come in the night as assassins which he doesn’t do though.

If someone sent an army, there was no way to hide it. People would see the soldiers marching toward their destination, information would spread, and the target would have enough time to construct an appropriate defense to match the incoming army.

For someone like Alec, who deploys only a handful of golems, pinpointing an incoming assault from him would be nearly impossible.

Now, however, neighboring lords whose lands bordered his previous conquered lands had begun studying the aftermath of his golems attacks, as they were trying to develop new detection methods specifically tuned to track the subtle movements of his golems.

While distant lords reveled in the delusion that the rising star stealing their limelight was finally about to be extinguished, Alec was bracing for impact against the two enemy commanders barreling toward him.

Alec didn’t waste time neither did he wait for them to make the first move, the instant he realized they were heading towards him, he triggered one of the active skills of his newly upgraded set while pushing himself backwards in the air,

As the cloak draped across his back billowed violently, unleashing a dense, churning cloud of gray cinders that surged outward to mask his presence.

Both beastkin generals closed the distance in a flash, finding their direct path to Alec barred only by three swirling ash vortexes that seemed to be clawing their way into physical shapes.

Growing impatient, the were-tiger general lunged first, he was wielding twin sabers, with fierce arcs of yellow lightning crackling along the edged steel as he slashed downward, intending to scatter the obstructive smoke and carve an open line directly to Alec.

Yet just before the blades could disperse the cloud, a hand forged of coalescing ash surged forward, brandishing a gray blade.

It was a hasty construct, far too frail to withstand the brunt of the beastkin general’s raw power, and the clash sent the ash weapon shattering backwards into the air

The brief resistance gave the were-tiger general pause, but before he could press his advantage, the remaining two ash vortexes finished congealing, turning into distinct humanoid shapes directly in his path.

Actually they all looked like Alec however just that there face looks slightly eerily due to the ash like features,

however when they looked towards where Alec was meant to be standing, they realised that there were now two ash body form there too,

And this frustrated them as now neither of the generals could tell which one was the real body, after the Were-Tiger general had already knocked back one of the ash body duplicates, it had moved straight towards where Alec w

as standing and took form.

“Watch out.”
