The Golem Mage

“For the second round, I’ve prepared a batch of various items to speed things up,” Alec began as he walked towards the stone pillar and pulled off the black cloth that had been covering the items.

“I have here three different items for the second round, and as you can see, there are three bottles, each holding cultivation pills, the first bottle contains ten Tier 3 cultivation pills.”

“The second bottle holds another ten Tier 4 cultivation pills, while the third bottle contains five Tier 5 cultivation pills, and these three bottles will not be sold separately but as a joint sale, and the starting bid is six Tier 5 bodies.”

Alec finally concluded his introduction of the second item, which happened to be a bundled sale, after his statement about the contents of the three pill bottles, the entire auction house fell silent.

The breaths of many inside hitched as they could hardly believe their eyes, all this while, when they wanted to cultivate, they had relied on power stones harvested from the chests of the enemies they fought.

One of the major reasons zombies were considered worthless was because their cores were infected, making it unsafe to cultivate with them.

Even though cultivation with power stones helped mages break through realms, it was said to come with many disadvantages, as it was seen as a primitive method of cultivation.

As it’s the process of taking in all that raw energy without proper refinement, so there was always a high chance that more than thirty percent of the energy would be lost during absorption, and not everyone had a system like Alec’s that could absorb such foreign energies without repercussion.

Constant use of such methods without a long gap caused mages to accumulate a lot of impurities within their bodies, impurities that, if left unattended, could block future breakthroughs, damage a mage’s foundation, or even leave behind long-standing internal injuries.

This was why ninety percent of mages who relied solely on power stones to cultivate never advanced beyond the Tier 6 realm to enter the high ranks, as their foundations had been irreparably damaged.

The remaining ten percent were either so talented that the impurities couldn’t hold them back, or they were extremely careful and meticulous while cultivating, detoxifying part of the impurities before they could get out of hand.

But even though many knew the risks, the power stones had been the basic mode of cultivation for so long that most in mid and low Tier clans didn’t really care, they simply hoped to get rid of enough impurities to push through to the next stage, yet right before their eyes were cultivation pills, the refined and processed versions of power stones, transformed through alchemy into a finished product.

There were many advantages to using cultivation pills compared to power stones directly, as not only did the pills capture all the essence of the power stones, but they also helped cleanse the body, acting like impurity cleaners.

For mages who had been cultivating solely with power stones, this set of pills was the best thing that could have happened to them.

Cause even if they managed to get their hands on just one, it would be enough to initiate a form of cleansing.

Though not all impurities would be removed instantly, however the amount that would be cleared would be more than enough to open part of their tight or blocked mana veins.

The moment that happened, they would feel a surge in their cultivation, as the flow of mana through their bodies would increase, widening the narrowed passages and making breakthroughs seem possible again after so long.

Yes, these pills could cause great change, holding the full potency of power stones without wasting any percentage of its potency as they were of the highest quality, so instead of those energies getting lost, the energies would be stored as residue in the body, gradually being refined into the body after the mage had fully assimilated the first part he absorbed.

Yes, that pill was the one the mages from Estonia City and the surrounding mid-tier cities were staring at right now, hardly able to believe their eyes.

Many of the mages, especially those within the realm of the presented pills, were already imagining the progress they could make if they could get all ten of them, but just as the thought surfaced, it was quickly crushed when they heard the opening bid.

“One Tier 6 body,” a voice called out, this time from one of the booths, shocking the audience.

They were even more stunned when they realized the bid had come from the third booth, where the Lanzt clan was seated.

No one had expected the Lanzt clan to raise the bar so high, calling out one Tier 6 body was equivalent to offering ten Tier 5 bodies, according to the exchange rate Alec had laid out earlier.

Everyone wondered where a small family like the Lantz clan found the courage to stake so much so early, especially when so many still had their eyes locked onto the current items.

In fact, many of the independent mages who had previously planned to bid immediately abandoned the idea.

Though Alec had set a reasonable starting price, he had been sly with his intentions, he was fully aware of the chaos these pills would cause in a city like Estonia the moment they were revealed.

And sure enough, just one bid had been enough to eliminate 95% of the competition, as most mages present simply lacked the resources to contend with the clans.

Even among the younger generation sitting with their clans, secretly rooting for their elders to bid and win the batch, there was a heavy sense of reality, none of them would individually get all ten pills even if their clan won.

Such a rare treasure would undoubtedly be reserved for only the brightest talents of the clan, giving each of them a piece, as this was a resource they saw as a source to strengthen the entire clan’s future.

“Ohhh, old man Bailey, I see you’ve finally decided to show your hand,” the Darkbliss Patriarch said as he looked toward the third booth.

“Two Tier 6 bodies,” the Darkbliss Patriarch bid immediately, drawing gasps and shock from everyone in the room.

The Darkbliss Patriarch had just proved he was even crazier than Bailey by increasing the price by an additional Tier 6 body.
