The Golem Mage

“You’d better not even think about sending someone else up here to face me, because I’ll tear anyone you send into shreds.

Unless you’re planning on having one of your precious teammates suffer an injury that could impact their cultivation journey, I suggest you step onto this stage right now,” Dragov said, locking eyes with Alec.

He was trying to play the emotional game, trying to force Alec on stage since he knew how much Alec cared for his team mates, something Dragov saw as a sign of weakness.

“Seriously, is that what you have to resort to just to get me on stage?

We could simply forfeit this match and give you the win without sending anyone up.

It would still count as your victory, which means you’d have wasted your chance,” Alec replied with a small smile, shaking his head in disbelief at how Dragov could appear so composed and innocent while harbouring such a twisted mind-set.

As soon as Dragov heard Alec’s words, his expression changed instantly.

He turned to the referee, his gaze questioning whether such an option was possible.

“If the War God Academy team decides to take that approach, they wouldn’t be wrong, as it’s not against the rules,” the referee said after thoughtfully placing his hand on his chin.

He smiled slightly at Dragov, clearly enjoying how Alec was pushing the Bloodline Academy team to the edge.

Dragov frowned at the prospect of Alec dismissing him so easily, at that moment, the entire crowd fell silent, as if Alec held the atmosphere in suspense with his next decision.

“But don’t worry, I’m not like that.

I’m also curious to face you now, so when I defeat you, you won’t have the chance to go around claiming that I only won against your team and that I’m not your match, like some people do,” Alec said.

This prompted cheers from many Bloodline Academy fans, and even a few from the War God Academy joined in.

As not all the supporters of the War God Academy team felt it was a good idea to face Dragov, especially when they had the advantage and could just secure an easy win the next round

In the end, everyone cheered for Alec’s decision, meanwhile, Liam Tudor was quite upset by Alec’s words, feeling they were a direct jab at him.

After all Alec’s remarks hit close to home to what he had been doing, as he was still nursing his bruised ego from losing to the War God Mage Academy team.

Alec stepped onto the stage to face Dragov, the crowd erupted.

Even those who had initially opposed Alec fighting joined in, eager to see who would emerge victorious between Alec and Dragov.

The anticipation of both mages sharing the stage sent the audience’s excitement into overdrive; they could hardly wait for the battle to begin.

“I already defeated that other guy, and now I finally get to face you.

You’re the last interesting mage in this competition,” Dragov said as he summoned his greatsword from his space ring.

The moment the sword appeared, it sank deep into the newly repaired stage like it was slicing through tofu.

Dragov gripped the long hilt with his right hand and kicked the blade off the ground.

This action sent small debris flying toward Alec, but before they could reach him, the referee dropped down between them.

The slight gravitational force from his descent caused the debris to lose momentum and fall back to the ground.

“Are you ready?” the referee asked Dragov, who nodded, his body trembling with excitement.

The referee then turned to Alec and asked the same question, and he also received a nod from Alec.

“Begin,” the red-haired referee announced after receiving confirmation from both mages, as he disappeared from their view, Dragov dashed forward, nearly closing the distance between him and Alec in an instant.

What surprised the crowd of mages was that Alec still had his hands in his pockets and a smile on his face, as if he wasn’t the one facing Dragov.

When Dragov saw Alec’s relaxed demeanour, he was a little surprised.

If it had been any other mage showing such apparent disrespect, he might have been angered.

However, coming from Alec, one of the few mages he was genuinely excited to face, he didn’t feel disrespected at all.

As Dragov reached the optimal distance, he slammed his right foot into the ground and swung his heavy sword down toward Alec’s head.

“Titan, emerge!” Alec commanded, sending a flicker of mana into his space pouch.

In an instant, Titan’s humanoid figure appeared before Alec, with his mace in hand, and Alec swiftly stepped back to give Titan and Dragov room to clash.

Without needing any further instruction, Titan swung his mace upward to meet Dragov’s greatsword.

As the both weapons collided, friction sparked at the point of contact.

Dragov was taken aback by the golem before him, realizing he was losing the strength contest, he was also surprised that Alec possessed a golem that had reached the Tier 6 realm.

Bang!

After a brief struggle, a burst of ice shot forth as Titan won the initial strength contest, forcing Dragov to retreat.

His expression turned serious; as he realized he couldn’t afford to test the waters any longer.

Any wrong move could result in him being knocked unconscious by the golem.
