The Golem Mage

The moment Alec summoned Titan, a deep icy fog enveloped both of them.

Even Pale’s ice spike disappeared into the fog, leaving him unsure if he had truly managed to harm Alec.

As the fog obstructed his vision, he patiently waited for a few seconds until he saw something emerging from the fog.

At first, he had anticipated Alec to step out first, but instead, he came face to face with Titan who was spreading out a Tier 3 pressure.

The entire Gordons group was taken aback by this new version of Titan. None of them had anticipated that it had reached the Tier 3 golem realm.

Alec had kept it hidden and never felt the need to summon Titan until now when he wanted to confront Pale.

It was clear to Alec that his Tier 2 golems wouldn’t be capable of putting Pale in his place the way he desired.

Only Titan could handle him effortlessly, which was the reason for his summoning.

The shocking aspect for the Gordons group wasn’t just the immense Tier 3 pressure emanating from Titan’s elemental body.

Instead, it was the drastic change in its appearance, Previously, they had always assumed Titan would continue growing, possibly even rivaling a junior yeti in height.

However, now he stood at the same height as Alec, giving the impression that his excess height had compressed to form his new Ice Elemental body.

The only way they could identify him was by the huge mace he carried and the ice shield strapped to his back, There was no mistaking it; no other golem of Alec’s utilized a mace.

Adding to the surprise was Titan’s emotionless expression.

While his face still had eyes, icy blue eyes, the mouth and nose were absent.

Covering his chest were various runes that acted as an armour, as he stared directly at Pale.

As Alec slowly stepped forward from behind Titan, he confronted Pale, who was genuinely surprised to discover that Alec still had a hidden card up his sleeve.

”Why don’t you face someone your own size and still have the energy for fighting, huh?” Alec questioned, tapping lightly on Titan’s shoulder. But before Titan could execute Alec’s wishes...

Someone came between Titan and Pale, and it was Kate.

With her hands stretched out to both sides, she pleaded

”Please overlook this, Pale can sometimes be immature and do stupid things, but we can always work things out. ’

” You guys need us for the next few minutes you would continue to be in a weaken state, just as we need you to safely escort us back to the Academy city gates, Your records show that you have always been able to bring back all the members of your team, and that is what we want. So let’s drop our differences and work together this once.”

Kate was still speaking when Pale interrupted her.

”What!, Me, immature?, How dare you call me that,” Pale retorted and Arthur added with a sneer,

”And there are the immature genes coming out!” He spat on the ground in disgust.

”I’ll make you regret that!”

Pale threatened, drawing out his ancient knife and preparing to cut his palm to cast a wide-range Mid Tier spell.

But before he could proceed, Kate, who was closer to him, stepped in and stopped him.

She shook her head, despite her belief in the power of the Mid Tier spell. She had seen it in action herself and knew its weaknesses.

From her observations of the spell and the way the Gordons acted, she realized that they were overly confident.

It was unusual for a set of Tier 2 mages to be so relaxed after being inflicted by a backlash.

This made her doubt that Pale’s spell could defeat them, and instead, it might worsen their relationships, hindering their chances of getting help from the Gordons to getting back to the city gates.

Pale could only grit his teeth in anger as Kate held onto him.

Lear, who had accompanied him, stood silently in the background, unable to intervene.

Though Lear, Alec, and Pale had all been admitted to the academy at the same time and Lear had received cultivation resources from his clan privately, just like Pale, he hadn’t been able to achieve the same level of skill as both mages.

Pale had at least attempted to be a leader of a team and still lead the team to the Abyss, while Alec was publicly recognized as the leader of the best Rookie team in the academy.

Lear couldn’t help but feel ashamed, that he had not amount to much despite thinking he was chosen by the heavens, meeting new geniuses in the academy had changed his way of thinking long ago.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the captain who had obtained information about the mine from Alec and his group just learned that Alec and his team had entered the Abyss again.

”So you’re telling me that those kids who turned the Abyss upside down before are back again?, Hmm, the fearlessness of youth,” the captain mused.

”Get the Mage Guards ready, They will soon be chased by Orcs and the plant life forms, and When that happens, we should be prepared to dash into the Orc regions and evacuate the mine veins,” the captain ordered.

”If we can’t have it all, then we’ll steal the source. After a few years, it will start to yield profit for the academy. Either way, I will still be rewarded,”

The captain declared, However, the city guard shook his head and spoke up. Stay updated through NovelFire.Côm

”The scouts have reported that they are moving towards the Beast King Region, and the scouts we have near the Orc region have said that the Root army or Orc village warriors have not moved, which means they are unaware of his presence in the Abyss again,” the soldier explained.

Enraged, the captain slammed the cup he was holding to the ground.

”No matter what happens, my plan will not be allowed to fail, Send my command: those few scouts that are the fastest are to give out information about him heading towards the Beast King Region. Is that clear?”

The captain gave his order, causing the guard to tremble in fear.

”But sir, he is a student of the Academy. Why would we do something like that to him?, It is like selling out a genius of the academy for personal reasons,”

The guard started to protest, but before he could finish, the captain grabbed him by the neck, lifting him off the ground as he struggled to breathe.

”You shall do as I say!, I don’t care if he is a genius of the academy. One can only be called a genius if they are able to reach their full potential. A dead genius is nothing, and Alec, being a disciple of Terran, means he is bound to die sooner or later.”

” So what’s the problem if he dies earlier?, Now go enforce my orders, or I shall kill you first!” The captain threatened, throwing the guard out of the room, the door slamming shut behind him.

Returning his attention to the maps, the captain muttered to himself,

”I am so close to my plans now. Who cares about some Tier 2 mages? I won’t hesitate to kill anyone in my path.”
